Entire staff and volunteers were fantastic. They make this Park one of the best I've stayed at

We made our reservation 9 months ago for 2 adults no kids or pets. We were put next to the main road that everyone walks their dog, goes to the restroom, washes their dishes and kids riding their bikes up and down the road since it was a hill. I would of thought we would of had a better site, possibly by the water. A little more quiet and peaceful since we had no kids.

Food was tasty.

This stay was not as great as our first one in 2021. 13 of us came from CA and MA and stayed in 3 cabins. There were so many cars in the campground that it was like staying in a parking lot. With so many more cabins, the views were mostly of RV's, cabins and cars. It felt very hectic, not relaxing. Perhaps you could set aside a parking area where guests left their cars after unloading?

There was a major power outage when we arrived, so we didn’t have water or electricity on day1. We understand that we will be credited for that night, which would be generous. The Lobster Shack didn’t have all of the items on its menu. The staff at the registration desk were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms did not seem to be heated, so taking a shower was not comfortable.

Great location and friendly people. Cabins were nice too

Even though there were electricity issues initially service was impeccable!

After traveling around Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, I have to say the stay at a US KOA was terrible in comparison. For the money $125 a night for camping? I would expect hot water and heat in the bathrooms. Every campground we stayed at in Canada provided this and they were much nicer at $30 a night. I know we paid for location but if you want to charge what you do then cater to campers.

This campground has it all. Great location, great amenities, and beautiful scenery.

The staff at Bar Harbor KOA were super. From check in, to getting propane, to the fun stuff they do. It is conveniently located near Acadia National Park. They have a free bus shuttle that runs all over Bar Harbor. With parking tough in many places, the shuttle makes it easy to go tourist around. We had beautiful site on the water. We definitely recommend this KOA and would return.

People in the office were very friendly and accommodating. When issues arose with the electricity, due to no fault of the KOA, we were kept informed of the status and refunded for the inconvenience. A class operation.

This place was too expensive and the sites were too crowded.

Stay was adequate this year as weather was horrible with high winds, rain, and power outages. Couldn’t do anything. Was not a very good stay even though we were refunded a nights stay.

We love this campground. The new store was lovely and as usual all of the people who worked there were wonderful. Unfortunately the power went out due to a storm so we have to cut our stay short, and the campground refunded folks for the night without power and water. Very professional.

Another well-managed KOA facility, ideally situated for visiting Acadia, Bar Harbor and surrounding coastal communities. Our site was on a point surrounded by water with magnificent sunset views. Be aware though, most of these waterview sites do not have sewer connections due to local regulations. The park has two dump stations, and offers a mobile sewage pump out service for a slight fee.

Reserved an ocean front site may months in advance. Arrived to find we were assigned a verysmall, steep site. No way to get our van close to level. Asked the office for a different site as there were other empty ocean front sites. They would not move us to one of the open sites. They moved us to a small, non ocean front site that was right in the middle of many other sites. Very dissapointed

Stay was quiet and beautiful! Lost power and water a full 24hrs. Without asking we were refunded the day and were updated via text as they received information on the status of the power being restored. I appreciated the communication from their end. Great area so much to do! I didn’t realize how busy fall was in the area I recommend getting up early and out if you don’t want to wait in lines.

We had a great stay at Bar Harbor Oceanside. The campground was perfect and plenty of activities. We lost power for 1 day due to a wind storm and we were credited 1 night stay within 24 hours. I would recommend Bar Harbor Oceanside to my friends and family anytime. And the lobster roll and soup was also delicious.

Our cabin was very clean, well-situated and had everything needed for a super comfortable stay. We weren't right on the water, but I appreciated being in the trees and the water was a 1-minute, easy walk away. We arrived and left when the office was closed, but check-in/out was very easy. Overall the grounds were well-kept and clean. I would 100% stay here again!

Great place to camp. We enjoyed the convenience of having a Cafe near by and the amenities were great as always. Thanks Wilda

Everyone was pleasant, great service, great food! Saw Northern Lights! Campground unfortunately lost power for a day from a wind storm, and they reimbursed everyone for that day!! Amazing service! Thank you!!

Everything about our stay was delightful! The view from our site was spectacular, checkin was a breeze, the staff very helpful and friendly also I have to mention the cafe was a sweet surprise, the soups were delicious, great coffee and breakfast!!

Lost power and water for a day…other than that: not bad. Good little store. Nice waterfront seating. Ample sized lots. Overall nice campground.

Although Mother Nature threw the campground a monkey's wrench, everyone at the campground was amazingly accommodating.

Wonderful campground right on the water! Too many amenities to count, but the lobster food truck was a big hit! Location to town was good too! Was a shame we lost power for 24 hours due to high winds.

We had a wonderful stay at the Oceanside KOA. Sadly we had to check in a few days late due to our own car trouble. Everything after arrival was perfect. The only fault was that we asked for a late check out so we could go on one more adventure and could not be accomodated. We were told that it is not something they offered. It was disappointing because we have done this in so many other locations.

We had a very good stay. The site we were in (371) was beautiful. The only issue we had was a power failure the day before we left which forced us to "boondock" for the day. Luckily we had power and enough water in our tank to make it through. Also, the camp refunded us for the day, so we appreciated that. Thanks!

Had a waterfront site and it was awesome. Great food at their cafe, and the lobster guy was awesome! Cool area with Acadia and everything you need close by.
Oct 14, 2024
Our cabin exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately a power outage caused us to pack up and leave a day early but after over 24 hours without power or water. Perhaps buckets of water could have been supplied for toilet flushing?
Oct 14, 2024
We had a oceanside location and there were plenty of facilities and we enjoyed a lobster roll from the lobster trap and also used the free shuttle service between the camp and bar harbor. We were only there for 2 nights but would use the site again.

Beautiful location! We enjoyed our stay in an oceanfront cabin and will be back. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The Lobster cafe was convenient. I appreciate the text messages keeping us informed of any issues. The one thing that would’ve improved our stay was the hot water tank. We had to be conservative and alter the timing of our showers. Other cabins appear to have tankless except ours.

Beautiful campground! The little cafe was a nice treat. We got food there a few times and it was good. And the shuttle bus that picked up right at the office was a perfect way to get to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor.

Showers are a bit cramped for leg shaving. Otherwise very nice.

Best campsite ever! Bar harbor and Acadia NP were amazing. After a week at this KOA I wish that I had stayed for another week… at least! The staff was exceptional. Friendly and helpful.

My husband and I had rented this as part of our wedding trip. We were originally going to be bringing our elderly dog Shadow, but unfortunately, she passed mid-July. In our grief we had forgotten to update our booking. We booked cabin 808, and when we arrived, we saw the dog bowls and mat laid out, and it hit us again, but in a good way. We've NEVER had an accommodation prepare for our dog. The cabin was spectacular and we had an Oceanview. It was so clean and neat and had everything you could ever want. The fridge was cold, there was a nice King Sized bed and two bunk beds in the second room with bedding should you want to use it. There was a nice deck out front and a private one attached to the primary room. With a grill and everything in the house, we wished we had stayed longer! The service was TOP NOTCH. My husband had left his prescription glasses there and we called and they said if we would email them a shipping label, they would ensure they got back to us. Well they did and I can't say enough about that! We did laundry the first night we were there and the machines were well cared for and worked fantastic. All in all, we will book this again and again!
