This was my 2nd visit to Holden KOA. The cabin was very clean, plenty of towels and very comfortable beds. The hosts, Lauren and Chris, are great. Lauren was very attentive and helpful with anything we needed. Always eager to be of service and always with a smile. :) Chris was so helpful with suggesting places of interest and where to eat. He knows the area well and gave perfect directions.

Nice park, clean huge RV site. Large patio with new picnic table and plenty of chairs. Nice size stone fire pit. Very friendly staff. They make homemade pizza on the premises which was very delicious. I would definitely go back for another visit

I had never stayed at this Koa before. No one shows you to your site,and I found the setup confusing. I was placed into a corner, when there were plenty of sunnier, more pleasant sites available. The site smelled of dog poop. The desk workers did not wear masks. The BRs did not have signs on them re wearing masks, so no one wore them. No mention was made of the nice walking paths which I found.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We always tell our campers that they should contact us if they need help, so you should have called us. As I recall, you requested a shady WE site. Our larger sites are all sewer sites. We are in Holden, and there are no mask requirements here. Our walking trails are labeled on the map you received

We had a wonderful stay and this campground. All facilitaties were well kept and they had one of the best camp stores we have seen. Thank you to Chris and Lauren, who were very very welcoming and helpful hosts!

I had a great first stay at this campground. I definitely look forward to staying again in the future. I would recommend people to visit this place. Very friendly staff and the place was very clean.

Loved the campground but the rv beside us had 5 dogs. Yes 5. Lots of barking and the scent of dog crap filled the air. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

I would like to start out by saying “Chris you are awesome”. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. We talked to Chris about the area and he was so helpful. Very knowledgeable about everything in the area. Every question we asked him he had an answer to and it was accurate. The camp ground was clean and very well maintained. Definitely will be coming back. They went above and beyond!

As first time campers I wasn’t sure what to expect but all my expectations were met and then some. Everything was very clean, everyone we met was incredibly nice, plenty of kids activities.( A basketball court would be nice for teenage boys, they were kinda bored) the campsites were kinda squished in but our neighbors were friendly and quiet.Store was great.Kids loved mining! Good pizza! Loved

Second time staying at this KOA. Overall, pleased with our stay. Would recommend more site options with the paved patio sites. Stayed at a paved patio site our first time at KOA in Bangor and preferred that site to the site we stayed at this time. We did try to get a paved patio site this time but since these sites are very limited, they were already reserved.

Our stay was awesome! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The bath house was VERY nice. Anyone who doesn't like this KOA is probably not cut out for camping. They had live music Saturday night and burgers, hot dogs and smores. I mean, what more can want in a place?

Excellent cabin. Surpassed anything I expected. when I first walked in thought it was brand new. It was 2 1/2 years old. Spotless no sign of prior use.

The owner of the Koa is very helpful and friendly. Have already recommended this campground to a cousin. This is the second year we have stayed at this Koa. And if we go to Maine again will stay there again.

it was a very nice place to stay with a lot of things to go. My only issue was with the campers across the road from us. They used bad language and stayed up till after midnight drinking and hollering. Did not get any sleep either night. It would be nice to have someone drive around and remind people to quiet down after 10 or 11 at night.

We are sorry that your neighbors stayed up late and made noise. We wish you would have given us a call so we could have rectified the problem. When checking in, we always tell you to call us anytime if you need anything.

We came for a baseball tournament and stayed there with most of the team. While we prefer backwoods camping with tents, we found our stay here to be very favorable. Specifically, the staff was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The facilities were very clean and well kept. This was a quality camping area that I would return to. Thanks for the care that you put into your facility.

Great KOA with all the normal amenities you would expect. The staff is super helpful, very friendly, and have great positive uplifting attitudes. When we first arrived, it rained pretty hard. We asked a neighbor if it had been raining a lot, and he said he had been here for 3 weeks and it hadn't stopped yet. We stayed for 2 weeks, and ended up with like 4 sunny days without rain. This meant that the entire campsite was pretty thoroughly flooded, and our entire yard had standing water with a nice big mud patch right at our front steps. It was so wet that the staff couldn't even mow until our second to last day, so the grass was getting pretty long and soggy. Despite all of the negative weather, the staff maintained their positive attitude, and did not cancel any of their fun events and activities. Even though the pool and bounce pad were out of commission, they more than made up for it with indoor crafts, events, and fun hangouts at the club house. The entrance is EXTREMELY tight. If you are towing a vehicle, I highly recommend you disconnect before pulling in. We did not, and we did not make it through the entrance either. Staff was once again super helpful in getting us unstuck, and gave us the time and space to maneuver safely, instead of rushing us out of the road like we have experienced at other camps, including some highly rated KOA's. The park store here is probably the biggest and most well stocked store we have seen in over a year, and the pizza, sandwiches, and ice cream are tasty and worth sampling. Jones Lobster Company right down the road really does have the BEST lobster rolls, and the best tasting lobster we had during our entire stay in Maine. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA in a Motorhome. Detracting 1 star due to the water becoming non-potable during our stay due to their septic overflowing into their well contaminating it with e coli.

Stayed here for the Summer 23 Season. Lance and his crew really worked hard all season upgrading the place and if you ever needed anything they were great. Disregard the negative old reviews from prior ownership. Would of signed up for next season but work isn't gonna have me up there.
