Local Area Recreation Near Bandon / Port Orford KOA Journey

Just a short drive from the campground you can enjoy the local beaches, where you can have a nice walk, picnic, hunt for agates or just admire the ocean waves.  Lighthouses are all along the Oregon coast - be sure to stop by and visit the ones around here.  Rock formations are always a majestic site to see, so take advantage of our unique formations for family photos.  Cranberry bogs, local museums, 4th Of July fireworks over the ocean, and our very own Cranberry Festival are all part of the summer fun in the area.  Be sure to check the local Chamber of Commerce (Bandon Chamber, Port Orford Chamber) for information on weekend activities and festivals.

Fishing

Fishing

Want to enjoy a day fishing just to come back to camp and cook your catch? We have several rivers and lakes within a 20-mile radius of the campground. The Sixes River is only 5 miles south and is one of Oregon's most pristine rivers. Elk River, just a few more miles south, also offers a great salmon run in late fall. You can fish from the bank or by drift boat. Even further south is the Rogue River in Gold Beach. Our local lakes are many, but just a few are Floras Lake outside of Langlois, Garrison Lake in Port Orford, Bradley Lake up towards Bandon, Croft Lake and Lural Lake of the 101. Let's not forget the glorious pacific ocean, where you can fish for sea perch right from shore or charter a boat and brave the sea. However you wish to fish, we have you covered here.
