Coos Bay is home to the longest running music festival on the Oregon Coast! Each year over 80 musicians travel from all over the United States and Canada to perform three classical concerts during Festival Week.Whether a novice or seasoned classical music fan, a very special treat awaits hearing our orchestra live! This family-friendly event include a Show ‘n Shine at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park and its marquee event, the annual “cruise” through the streets of downtown Coos Bay on Saturday.This event is part of the annual Bay Area Fun Festival!
Summer may be winding down, but the fun is just beginning here on the South Coast! The Bay Area Fun Festival, also known as the greatest last party of the summer, happens here in Coos Bay and surrounding areas the third weekend in September.Thousands of locals and visitors from afar come to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of this popular festival. Highlights include live entertainment, the famous Cruz the Coos featuring nearly 500 vintage automobiles, the Prefontaine Memorial Run, a parade and much more.The K-DOCK RockFest features a full weekend of live local musicians including Toyz, CRBQ, Aurora, Timberwolf, and Border Patrol. Bring a lawn chair and join us for great music all weekend long.Visitors will also enjoy a variety of vendors, arts and crafts and lots of different kinds of food along with a beer & wine garden.
Live Culture Coast is a social probiotic that invites both residents and travelers to more deeply experience Oregon's south coast. We will weave together the Wild Rivers Coast Food Trail, OCVA's (Oregon Coast Visitors Association's) Public Art Trail, The Oregon Coast Trail, Whiskey Run & Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Bikeway, and more outdoor recreation initiatives for a 10 day series of experiences and events at the beginning of off-peak season – October 18th to 27th, 2019.Beginning on Friday night, October 18th, Coos Bay will showcase a weekend of fermentation workshops, pairings, discussions, and performances. The weekdays will be filled with choose-your-own-adventure activities along a curated route following Highway 101 including restaurants & farms, art installations & galleries, guide services & boats, and other entrepreneurial services that are developed with partners.The exact route will be chosen based on where the various trails intersect, off shoots that highlight excursions, and placements of both temporary and permanent installations. Live Culture Coast will conclude with another weekend of workshops and performances in Brookings.
The brightest and most beautiful place on the West Coast shines as brightly as ever in 2019.Famous for its beautiful 7 acre botanical gardens and Japanese lily pond, Share Acres shines with over a quarter million lights, animated displays, Santa, choirs, and more. A holiday tradition for the whole family.This festive annual display debuts on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28th) and will light up Shore Acres from 4 p.m.-9:30 p.m. each night (including Dec 24th & 25th) thru December 31st.
