The staff was wonderful and the facilities well cared for, but like most KOA's the camp site was miserable. No room or space. Our neighbors fire pit was next to our trailer. No room to sit outside. We now try to stay in state parks as KOA's tend to be nothing more than parking lots.

Enjoyed the park. Very clean, very quiet. 1st time ever staying in a camping cabin. Unfortunately that little of a mattress made for a restless and sore night sleep. I didnt like the community fire pit for the cabins. Unfortunately was full of people and kids all night. We were wanting a more intimate quieter fire, but oh well.

This was a wonderful little campground just off I-40. The campground was well maintained and clean. The bathroom and shower facilities were very clean and staff is super friendly. We definitely plan on staying again.

Nice campground and very friendly staff. Problem is the road noise. It was very hard to sleep at night with trucks and cars going past no more than 300 yards from our site. Couldn't wait to leave so we could get a good night's sleep.

The park staff was very helpful and professional. Kyle took us to our site and watched as we pulled in to make sure we didn't have any parking issues. He also gave us information on the full hook ups. Sites are well laid our and fairly level. Will go back when in the area.

Great - everyone very friendly. They even have a community garden with delicious heirloom tomatoes. If you have the opportunity to go to Canton Southern Porch, dinner was amazing.

Site B11 is not great. Especially when there seemed to be other slots available. I would recommend giving someone a free upgrade if available rather than use that spot (please note I never asked for one, just a recommendation. It’s too close to the bathroom and everyone cuts through the spot to get there. The staff was very kind and overall the place was nice, just not spot B11

We loved our stay at this KOA. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially on helping us extend our stay. The grounds and restrooms are very clean and regularly maintained. Sites are gravel and level, with cable and WiFi both working well.

Nice large spots. Easy access to utilities. Hosts very pleasant. Bathroom showers need shelf for soap, shampoo etc. Had to leave on floor. Not too easy for disabled senior.

Lovely staff and a beautiful property close to it all. Great WIFI but a real camping feel if you want to disconnect. Can’t wait to go back to the area and will book at the KOA West Asheville!

We stayed almost a month and the stay was awesome. All the people were nice. The grounds were kept beautiful. I only had one little complaint and that is to stay on top of people with dogs because they bring them out without leashes, but it's very difficult when you have a dog on a leash and a loose dog comes running up to it other than that we may see you next year thank you

Amazing, beautiful, and very well maintained KOA. We were in Asheville for a wedding and spent 5 nights there. Wonderful , friendly staff. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Nice campground tucked away in the hills. Lots of shade, well maintained, extremely friendly staff. I met the owner and was as sweat as pie. Located directly off I-40 and was just a short drive to Asheville, Waynesville, and hiking trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The pros outweighed the ONLY con of road noise due to the close proximity to I-40.

The staff at Asheville West KOA are always kind and helpful. They truly go above and beyond to accommodate the needs of all guests. The campground and facilities are beautiful. I'll be back for another stay for sure.

We stayed in B loop. It felt more like we were in a construction zone than a campground - more gravel than grass. And the gravel was not necessarily walkable as it was fairly large. Our sewer hookup was close to a foot above the level we had to park our trailer resulting in very difficult drainage. The freeway borders the property so don't expect solace at night. And locks for the bathhouse - why?

We stayed here for 7 days and we have mixed feelings about this KOA. The good: staff very very nice and the pool was enjoyable. The location was near our planned activities which was very helpful. The Bad: I made reservations in January for a July trip to get a specific type of site. We arrived andfound out they had changed our site type. Very unhappy. It rained and the site was muddy.

The site served it's purpose for what we had going on. I would not want to camp there. The road in the campground and the sites needed gravel. It was rainy so mud got tracked in. We were there for a disaster relief effort so we didn't spend much time at the site. We did receive a discount which was appreciated.

Enjoyed our stay there. Nice quiet place campground, except for I-40. I had no problem that. Great staff. Super location for the area.

Very nice campground. We noticed the I-40 road noise but it wasn’t too bad. Our water was light brown even with the water filter so that was concerning.

The campground itself is nice. Great bathrooms and showers. We lost power at 2am. Let them know, still waiting to find out if we are receiving any refund due to not being able to use our power for half the time we were there. This was a quick trip. We only stayed to have power. Otherwise we would have done a Walmart of Cabellas.

Great location still recovering from last year’s hurricane. Staff members Gary and Kyle were ready, willing and able to provide us with some mechanical assistance when we needed it. They got us road ready to roll all the way home. Once again, thank you to Gary and Kyle of the Asheville West KOA!

When we came back to our site for the night in the second day we found a Jeep parked in one of the two parking slot of our spot. The Jeep had the front windows a few inches down and three large dogs locked inside (inhuman in this 95 degree heat) and very aggressive. They were maybe about 80lbs each and angry and barking aggressively. So much so we thought they might break the windows. We left.

It's an older camp, well-maintained. The staff are all friendly, courteous and helpful. Bathrooms are spotless. It's right off I-40. There's some traffic noise, but I didn't think it was too bad. Campsites are rather close, the roads in the campground were very dusty.

Enjoyed our overnight stay. Beautiful area. Clean and nice sites. Very dog friendly. And super friendly staff. Little noise from the interstate but not unbearable would definitely go bavk

Great campground, with excellent customer service and maintenance staff! Very clean bathrooms and showers. Loved the gardens and the Veteran tribute tree & nifty art along the hiking/dog walking paths! Beautiful area and just off the highway. A little tricky turning right onto the road from the campground, but if you are careful, you'll be fine! Worth staying at. We will again. Edit: 2026 - We did visit again! And despite them having had to cope with the hurricane situation, this place still rocks! It feels like they took the opportunity to not just restore, but even improve. Sites are more level, and they have a great cabin area for a family reunion. And next time, we intend to make this a destination choice. Oh- and Kimberly and Heather are terrific!
