Great campground! Great location near Asheville, Pisgah National Forest, Cherokee, and even GSMNP. Bathroom, shower facilities, and camp store are all very nice. Campground has a nice pool, dog yard, and walking trail. Most of all, campground staff is very friendly, does a great job taking care of it, and offers help if you need it. Note: I-40 highway noise can be loud on a quiet night.

nice campground friendly staff Julia was particularly helpful with printing and mailing a document. only drawback is I40 is very close and very loud.

Overnight stay in a pull thru RV site. Nice and level with full hookup. Office staff were very pleasant. The campground is along I 40 and makes it very convenient but there is traffic noise.

Restrooms were very clean and the deskperson was friendly. However, the site we were on backed up to the interstate and was very LOUD. It was too loud to sleep even with the white oise machine running. Ashville East KOA is a much quieter location.

Beautiful campground nestled in the hills and woods just west of Asheville. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Very clean and enjoyed walking the rugged trail around the campground. Very close to the Interstate, so there is some noise, which can't be helped. Asheville is still recovering from Hurricane Helene, and we were thanked multiple times for visiting and helping the local economy.

We were extremely satisfied with the facility and staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Picked up and delivered the propane tanks. Facility very clean and well kept. Enjoyable to talk to. Easy access to campground. We would stay there again.

Four night stay in an RV hookup spot did not disappoint, even though we're very used to camping in secluded woods. Yes, the highway is loud, yes there are chickens, turkeys, and roosters next door. But for an affordable spot to camp and explore Asheville, it's ideal. The proximity to the Biltmore, Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee, etc was excellent. Clean facilities and nice area!

Site B41 (with the upper dining patio and seating area around the campfire ring) The sites are a little uneven; that's why you have levelers. Otherwise, the sites are just fine. Our site was right next to I-40 and the noise was no issue for us (Air Cond/ Heat Pump drowned out all noise). If it's a real issue for anyone, the front office offers ear plugs. Overall, EXCELLENT STAY!

We absolutely love the campground. It is beautiful and clean. The staff was kind and responsive. It is convenient to all the area attractions and amenities. The one downfall, and consequently the one thing that is out of the owner’s control, is the traffic noise. While located in a natural, wooded setting, the campground does back up to I40 and it is loud and busy all hours of the day and night.

This was the second time we stayed at the Asheville West KOA. As with the first visit, we were amazed with the politeness and helpfulness of the staff. Also we were impressed with the staff that were cleaning up the sites after the guest left. Other KOA campgrounds should follow the example set by this campground.

Campground was clean and everyone was very nice. Unfortunately, the traffic from the interstate is really just unbearable. It’s unfortunate that it’s something they can’t change but it’s literally just feet away. They do provide ear plugs in the office which is nice so I’d definitely recommend grabbing some at check in. Other than that, this campground is great.

Level Van site with electricity; nice covered gazebo. Bathroom/showers very clean :) The I-40 road noise was very pronounced. There's also TA Travel Ctr directly below the east side of the ridge from the campsite...the truck backup beeping and air brake release started at 3:30a.m. I appreciated the free earplugs for our 2nd night...if you are prepared to muffle the road noise it's good.

The facilities were clean, very friendly service, responsive after hours. All wonderful. There was noise from the truck stop and highway, but not enough to bother us.

Pleasant stay. Nice little hike trail around campground. Great camp store with wonderful selection. Clean bathrooms and laundry area. Nice and friendly staff.

Campground itself was clean and well maintained. Very hilly, but you’re in the mountains. Only downside was it would have been darn near impossible to back in to the site we had if anyone would have been camping at the sites across from us.

Quick overnight stay. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Site was fairly level and nice. Bathrooms exceptionally clean. Rained and was kind of muddy. More gravel would help.

Enjoyed our overnight stay. Beautiful area. Clean and nice sites. Very dog friendly. And super friendly staff. Little noise from the interstate but not unbearable would definitely go bavk

Great campground, with excellent customer service and maintenance staff! Very clean bathrooms and showers. Loved the gardens and the Veteran tribute tree & nifty art along the hiking/dog walking paths! Beautiful area and just off the highway. A little tricky turning right onto the road from the campground, but if you are careful, you'll be fine! Worth staying at. We will again. Edit: 2026 - We did visit again! And despite them having had to cope with the hurricane situation, this place still rocks! It feels like they took the opportunity to not just restore, but even improve. Sites are more level, and they have a great cabin area for a family reunion. And next time, we intend to make this a destination choice. Oh- and Kimberly and Heather are terrific!
