Super friendly staff. We were traveling due to a funeral in the area and the staff was beyond great. We had a patio site that had a rear view of the fall foliage. It was beautiful. We will be back again.

Loved that we were the only tent site even though we booked same day, which was spacious and comfortable for 2 of us to camp out of our truck with 2 dogs. Bathrooms were nice and clean and loved that they were heated!!

The staff was incredible to work with as we needed to adjust to this hurricane affected area. Our crew stayed in a cabin and it was perfect. Thank you to the staff and your response to our changing needs.

One of the first campgrounds open after Hurricane Helene, they hosted relief workers and were just a little extra kind, it felt like. Appreciated the clean restrooms and hot showers.

This is a great campground. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The sites are well spaced and level. The campground is extremely clean and well taken care of. We really enjoyed our stay!

Special shoutout to Lisa. Every person on the staff was very friendly and helpful and this was before Hurricane Helene hit the Ashville W KOA. More so after the event. Our reservation called for us to leave on Saturday September 28, 2024, this was impossible during the storm. I am a little disappointed that I was charged for the 29th when we left as there was no water, sewer or electric 28 & 29th.

It was a sad time with the devastation in the area. The campground assisted with setting up workers coming into Asheville. There was dinner under the pavilion and the staff did everything they could possibly do to make accommodations under the circumstances. I’ve said at this campground many times and will continue to stay there. I’ve never had any problems and I stay at least twice a year.

Great staff, clean, accessible sites, easy check in and out. The highway noise can be a bit annoying, but they can't help that and they provide ear plugs

All was well until we got caught in the aftermath of Helene! We lost power, water, and cell service, and both interstates out of NC were closed. The KOA staff encouraged us to stay longer and kept us informed about where to get gas, food, and cell service. We felt very safe at the campground, despite the chaos around us. Wonderful staff! We are praying for western NC and will be back! ���

We stayed for 4 nights at the wonderful KOA. The sites are large and level and we had no problem parking our 42 foot 5th wheel and the truck in our site. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were there for 3 days after the hurricane hit and while we didn't sustain any damage the campground did lose power, internet and cell service. We will definitely return to the area.

Our stay was a safe one and everyone was helpful in the middle of the hurricane. We wish you all safety and a quick recovery. We’re so sorry for the devastation that you suffered in Asheville.

Thanks to Kisha and Gary and the rest of the Asheville West staff for being available and ensuring a safe stay during and following Hurricane Helene. We are grateful to the owners and staff for keeping everyone informed when all utilities went offline. The only regret is that our generator was not powerful enough to run the propane motor!!

This was during the hurricane and we were stuck in a Cracker Barrel parking lot. The campground we were staying in was on the river and it was flooded. Called KOA West when we had a brief moment of cell signal and they told us they would find a spot. In the middle of conversation, cell signal died and did not come back for over 24 hours. We went to the KOA West and they found us a spot.

We were there when hurricane Helene hit Asheville. Like everyone, they lost power, water, cell service and contact with everyone, but they were there for the campers, kept us informed as best they could. They helped everyone during the worst of times. They were great.

The cabin I stayed in was clean and bug free! The restrooms and showers are also very clean and can be easily accessed from anywhere on the campsite, but especially the cabins. The land is beautiful, the dog park nice & spacious, and the hiking trails are short but beautiful! There is a pool & other activities if you are bringing your kids during summer.

Very nice. We were suppose to stay at KOA west but they had no internet which we needed so KOA East accommodated us. Lovely clean park. We will definitely stay there again. Unfortunately left early because of hurricane Helene so couldn’t finish our full stay.

We were stuck in the camper the entire time we were there, due to pre-hurricane rain, but the campground is very nice. Bathrooms and showers were clean and worked well. My biggest impression was the young lady who signed me in. After a grueling day driving through the rain, she was a happy, friendly, welcoming representative of your organization. Exactly what I needed.

Every person on the staff that we dealt with was absolutely fabulous! Welcoming, kind, and helpful! Nicest group of staff we have met so far and we have been to many, many KOA’s all over the United States! The campground was awesome!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The site had sufficient space and was not to close to the neighbor. The only negative was highway traffic noise, but it was not to bad. We were only there for an overnight stay.

The people that run this campground are so friendly and so helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. The only issue I had was the noise from the interstate but it wasn’t that bad.

Beautiful campground. Our second time staying there and it won’t be the last. The area is beautiful, the location is very central to lots of terrific activities, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful

Enjoyed our overnight stay. Beautiful area. Clean and nice sites. Very dog friendly. And super friendly staff. Little noise from the interstate but not unbearable would definitely go bavk

Great campground, with excellent customer service and maintenance staff! Very clean bathrooms and showers. Loved the gardens and the Veteran tribute tree & nifty art along the hiking/dog walking paths! Beautiful area and just off the highway. A little tricky turning right onto the road from the campground, but if you are careful, you'll be fine! Worth staying at. We will again. Edit: 2026 - We did visit again! And despite them having had to cope with the hurricane situation, this place still rocks! It feels like they took the opportunity to not just restore, but even improve. Sites are more level, and they have a great cabin area for a family reunion. And next time, we intend to make this a destination choice. Oh- and Kimberly and Heather are terrific!
