The staff was very friendly, hospitable and welcoming. Restrooms were quite clean and showers were hot. Grounds were well kept and even had a hiking trail to enjoy. The store was well stocked, also. Would recommend and hope to return.

Not happy with the gravel and dirt site. Also how un-level the sites are. Staff was friendly and helpful at check-in. You can't do much about having a campground in the mountains but it was not ideal.

The ladies at the front desk were kind and helpful. The cabin was clean. The mattress was surprisingly comfy, at least for my small frame.

Super friendly folks always make this worth the drive. Campground is large with a lot of things to do, even in the cold months.

the park was very well kept and the staff was friendly and kind. This park sits right next to the freeway, so it is very noisy if you aren't accustomed to that sound. The park sits about 20 minutes for Ashville, not too far but not really close either. If you like hiking and outdoors there is lots of options. If we were in the area, we would probably stay again

VERY friendly and attentive care was taken during our winter visit. The camp store was nicely stocked, clean restrooms, nice laundry, lovely hiking trails on property.

Very nice, welcoming was awesome and helpful and friendly. Enjoyed stay on hillside. Office had supplies if needed. Bath house was nice. Thanks for our stay KOA

Not able to use water because of freezing temps. The camper shouldn't have to protect your campground faucets. You should have them wrapped. It was an okay place to stay. Bathrooms and showers were nice and clean

The sites were way too close and our first assigned site was uneven. The sites were full hookup 50 amps and not long enough to fit my truck and camper. Tried to get Propane refills twice during office hours but the person working the front desk didn't know how to fill tanks. Other little things were unpleasant as well. Worst KOA I've stayed at so far!

The campground was clean, and the utilities worked well. The sign at the exit indicates i40 to the left while our GPS said to go right. We went left and there was no sign, indicating where to go for i40 after that. The sign was very confusing and we were lost on narrow roads for 4 miles in a motorhome Towing a vehicle.

Super friendly staff and clean sites. They are also currently hosting numerous workers for the disaster cleanup and doing their part for that as well. If you can, stay here and give them your business! They are great people. We will be back again someday.

Site was wonderful, clean, well set up. We had our dogs with us, so it was really nice to have areas around for them to go potty. We wish we could have stayed longer but that wasn’t a possibility. The staff was wonderful to work with as our schedule had to be adjusted, they were very accommodating. Thank you all.

Love having a large enough dog run for mine to actually run! Grateful for hot water and great water pressure in the showers, but they were a little bit of a tight squeeze. Staff is very friendly!

We prebooked two nights in advance, due to cold front moving into Ashville, we decided to head toward the KOA a day early. Julia was very friendly and helpful. We were able to get our three nights in the same pull-through. The stay was very comfortable (other than 16, 19 degree temps!). We would gladly return to the Ashville KOA West when returning to the area.

All the staff were great and very helpful. It was nice to see them supporting the hurricane recovery by hosting several dump trucks and their drivers.

Cheerful staff and very helpful. I had an emergency where my dogs escaped and Maria immediately offered to help me look for them. The dogs returned quickly but she could see I was still upset and helped calm me down. It’s clear the staff take pride in the campground and facilities. Bathrooms were very nice, clean, and the showers looked new. I highly recommend it! Other staff were also helpful!

We stay at this property at least once a year as we pass through to visit family. Each time we visit, the staff are very friendly and accommodating and the grounds are clean and well kept. Will definitely return to this place. Keep up the good work.

We stayed up n the deluxe cabin and it was great! The mini kitchen and bathroom was a great addition for a week visiting this area. This was our 2nd stay this fall. We came from IL to work with Samaritans Purse.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Asheville West KOA. Facility was very clean and well maintained and staff was friendly and helpful. Our full RV hookup spot was great as it included a nice fire pit, glider chairs and a table with four chairs. Location is convenient to Asheville on the west side. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Everything was very nice. Only ‘complaint’ was there was only one bathhouse and it wasn’t centrally located but site, services, and especially the staff were all very nice. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Convenient location. You will have road noise, as the location is right by I-40, so plan accordingly if that will bother you. Sites are mostly level and easy to get an RV in. Bathrooms were very clean. The staff we interacted with were all super friendly and helpful. There is a fenced in dog area and dog poop bag stations throughout the property which we appreciated. We would stay again!

Enjoyed our overnight stay. Beautiful area. Clean and nice sites. Very dog friendly. And super friendly staff. Little noise from the interstate but not unbearable would definitely go bavk

Great campground, with excellent customer service and maintenance staff! Very clean bathrooms and showers. Loved the gardens and the Veteran tribute tree & nifty art along the hiking/dog walking paths! Beautiful area and just off the highway. A little tricky turning right onto the road from the campground, but if you are careful, you'll be fine! Worth staying at. We will again. Edit: 2026 - We did visit again! And despite them having had to cope with the hurricane situation, this place still rocks! It feels like they took the opportunity to not just restore, but even improve. Sites are more level, and they have a great cabin area for a family reunion. And next time, we intend to make this a destination choice. Oh- and Kimberly and Heather are terrific!
