This region is blessed with many lakes, perfect for all your favorite summer recreations like boating, fishing, wading or even just relaxing on the sandy shore. If you would like to experience what makes Angola and this county so unique, be sure to check out these beaches where you can escape for a day at the beach free of charge — Clear Lake, Crooked Lake, Hamilton Lake, Pleasant Lake, Potawatomi Lake, and Pokagon main beach.
2. Pokagon State Park
Pokagon State Park is a popular family destination for swimming, boating, and fishing. The park hosts one of the largest Independence Day fireworks displays in Indiana each July!
3. Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve
Wild Winds has more than 400 acres of rolling Indiana prairie, natural waterways, lakes, birds and is home to approximately 250 bison. Tours are available via open-air vehicle. The log-hewn bed and breakfast offer unique lodging, along with safari tents out in the fields. Stop in the gift shop for buffalo meat and hand-crafted items. Each spring and fall, Wild Winds hosts a free popular rendezvous, an 1840’s encampment.
4. Angola Motor Speedway
Angola Motor Speedway features a 3/8 mile, high-banked asphalt track set on 78 acres in eastern Steuben County. The restrooms, kitchens and stands have all undergone a complete renovation to help ensure the track is family-friendly. Enjoy the race from the comfortable grandstands or from one of the private luxury suites located in the tower.
5. Toboggan Run at Pokagon State Park
The toboggan run at Pokagon State Park is a 1,780-foot long and 90-foot tall refrigerated twin track. The top recorded speed on the Pokagon State Park toboggan run is 42 mph. It is located in Pokagon State Park in northeast Indiana. The toboggan run in Pokagon State Park is one of the tallest and fastest toboggan runs in the United States.
