Campground Activities
The Niagara Escarpment:
Because of our proximity to one of the World's Most Recognized International Biospheres many hiking trails and quiet retreats can be found a short distance away. The Halton Region Conservation Authority manages these lands and gives us an opportunity to visit the following very popular attractions in the immediate vicinity of Toronto West KOA:
Lake Kelso: For swimmers and canoeists - and a good place for fishermen to relax.
Hilton Falls: A natural treat with 16 kilometers of hiking trails and a scenic waterfall.
Crawford Lake: Explore a 15th Century Iroquoi Indian Village and a very special lake in a wilderness setting completely encircled by a boardwalk for visitors to enjoy.
Mountsberg Wildlife Centre: Includes a 500 acre lake, a well-known Raptor Centre housing many impressive exhibits, resident birds-of-prey and a bird hospital.
Rattlesnake Point: A Rock Climber's Heaven which includes a Buffalo Herd - but no rattlesnakes.
Mount Nemo: Another of our Local Internationally Renowned Rock Climbing Centres - including caves and 1000 year old cedar trees.
The Bruce Trail: This World Famous Hiking Trail follows the Niagara Escarpment from Niagara Falls and winds past the campground and through some of the above attractions on its way to the tip of the Bruce Peninsula on Lake Huron.
Golf Courses
Our area is blessed with several dozen fine golf courses ranging from courses to challenge the ubiquitous duffer to world class courses that cater to the pros. Several public courses are only minutes away.
Mohawk Raceway and Slots Casino This World Class Harness Racing Track and Casino, operated by the Ontario Jockey Club, is located adjacent to Toronto West KOA and offers world-class harness racing with over 750 slot machines and dining facilities operating year round. Parking and admission are free. It's an easy walk from the campground.
Local Attractions
The CN Tower:
The World's Tallest Free-Standing Structure offers Games and Rides on the lower levels, and a breath-taking, Glass Floored Observation Deck up near the clouds. Fine Dining is available at CN Tower's Revolving Restaurant in the sky. Enjoy a panoramic view of Toronto with your meal. Reservations are recommended, and will save the cost and the wait for the elevator to the observation level. The CN Tower is one of the world's most incredible engineering marvels and is Toronto's Most Popular Tourist Attraction.
African Lion Safari: Just as it sounds, go on a safari through a huge park filled with wild animals located only 30 minutes away. Drive your own vehicle through the park or take the Safari Bus (recommended). Be sure to see the many scheduled live animal demonstrations while at African Lion Safari.
Metro Toronto Zoo: Rated one of the Top Ten Zoos in the World, Metro Toronto Zoo presents animals from every continent in their natural settings within a site of over 700 acres. Bring your camera and your walking shoes. Restaurants and amenities are available.
