Meet Your Hosts

Open April 20 - October 14

Look no further for family fun all season long!

The Cardinal / Ottawa South KOA is family camping at its best.   Located just an hour from Ottawa and close to the 1000 Islands region, this is the ultimate destination for eastern Ontario camping.    Spend your weekends or entire vacations on our campground and enjoy a wide variety of amenities including our splash pad, pool, pirate ship playground, and 18 hole mini-putt.   The kids will enjoy our themed weekend activities, or take the family on a day trip to explore Ottawa or the St. Lawrence river area.

Our sites range from big-rig friendly 50 amp pull-thrus to large treed 30 amp back-in sites to our convenient deluxe cabins.    Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, water source and electricity.    Get away from the noise of the highway and bustle of the city in our beautiful, quiet rural location.   Nightly quiet hours between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM provide a secure and relaxing experience for our guests.

Get away from it all and join us for fun-filled family adventure!

We are dedicated to providing a fun and entertaining experience for your family. It was Daniel's life long dream to own a campground, and in 2006, we had the opportunity to purchase the Cardinal/Ottawa South KOA and have loved every minute since. By placing a strong focus on recreation and service, we work hard to create a fun-filled family destination for the eastern Ontario region.

We love our guests! We like to go out of our way to meet our camper's needs and concerns. Dan pays particular attention to new RV owners by helping with their set-up and understanding of their new purchase. He is also our resident chef and can be found cooking at the Chip Wagon every weekend and hosting our long weekend BBQ, potlucks and holiday dinners. Karen is always ready to greet you with a smile in the office and help with anything you need.

We are passionate supporters of the KOA Care Camps Trust that supports 43 special non-profit camps for children with cancer across North America. Throughout the season we incorporate activities and opportunities around the campground to raise money for this special cause.

Look for us on our evening tours of the campground! We look forward to meeting you!

Over $18,000 Raised for Care Camps in 2011! Last season we raised $18,750 for the KOA Care Camps foundation through activities on our campground. We are a proud supporter of KOA Care Camps which provides financial support to more than 43 special nonprofit camps across North America for children with cancer. During our first season seven years ago, we brought in $1,530 and each year that amount has grown through the support of our great camping guests. This year, our goal is $20,000! Come join us in making a difference!

New Cabins - Opening for the July 1st Long Weekend We're expanding! This spring we are adding three one room cabins with washrooms and A/C. These are the perfect size for a couple or small family. We add these to our existing cabin inventory of three camping cabins and two lodges/deluxe cabins. Try something new...spend a weekend in our convenient and affordable KOA Cabins. Or, bring along family and friends who may not have an RV the next time you come to see us at the campground. Cabins are a great way to share KOA with others!

New Activities This Season! We were busy this winter and are very excited to announce we have several new activities at the Cardinal / Ottawa South KOA this season.    Dan has built a brand-new 18 hole mini-putt course at the front of the campground!   We have a new inflatable water slide that stands 40 feet tall and is a whopping 175 feet long.    And that's not all...we can't forget to mention our new giant pirate ship playground that is located the near the pool!   See the Activities section for more details and photos!

Village of Cardinal Photo Village of Cardinal Rich in history, the township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal in Eastern Ontario sits just north of the St. Lawrence River.  Cardinal is central to many historical sites, attractions and museums.

Boldt Castle Photo Boldt Castle Boldt Castle is located in the 1000 Islands region of the St. Lawrence River.   At the turn of the century, the castle costs $2.5 million to construct and later over $10 million to restore.  It was built by George Boldt as a testament of love for his wife Louise.   Never occupied, construction was halted the day she died in 1904.   The castle is an opulent love story, even being built on Heart Island which Boldt made into the shape of a heart through fill he brought in by boat.

Ottawa Photo Ottawa The campground is just an hour away from Ottawa, Canada's national capital.    Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and the National Gallery of Canada are just a few of the many attractions the city offers.   Learn more at the city's official tourism site.
