A River Runs Through It

Located off the Interstate 90 business loop, the Deer Lodge MT KOA campground is situated in a high mountain valley between the Pintler Range and the Continental Divide. You'll love our quiet, peaceful setting on the Clark Fork River, yet only 3 blocks to downtown Deer Lodge and many historical sites. Stop at Grant-Kohrs, an honest-to-goodness cattle ranch worked the old-fashioned way with real cowboys and beaver-slide haying.

Don't miss the Old Montana Territorial Museums and the display of 150 collectible and antique cars. Drop a line in the river for trophy brown trout or cool off from summer's heat. Golf at a nearby course, visit ghost towns, go for a scenic drive, play horseshoes and badminton, or relax around a campfire. Our campground offers 30 and 50 amp services in pull-through or back-in sites, and we're "Big Rig" friendly (reservations recommended)! Also available are 3 Camping Cabins and a large grassy area for tent camping. We LOVE dogs, so bring your pooch. Come camp with us today - we look forward to your visit.

Historic Grant Kohrs Ranch The 1500 acre Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site illustrates the development of the Northern Plains cattle industry from the 1850's to recent times. This was the headquarters area of one of the largest and best known 19th-century range ranches in the country. Today the ranch house, bunkhouse and outbuildings are much as they were during ranch operations from the 1860’s through the 1960’s.

Old Montana Prison Through guided and self-guided tours you can experience how many of Montana’s outlaws "did time". Grey stone walls and towers surround the prison that was built by convict labor in the late 1800s and actively used until 1979. The Old Montana Prison is open seven days a week year-round. Daily hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial Day to Labor Day with shortened hours after Labor Day.

Towe Ford Museum The Towe Ford Museum displays cars that put America on wheels . . . from the first production model in 1903 to the classic Fords of the fifties and sixties. The Towe Ford Museum houses the second largest collection of antique Fords. This outstanding collection of over 110 Fords in beautiful condition is on display seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day with shortened hours after Labor Day.
