Meet Your Hosts

Open April 1 - September 30

The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument/Museum, Pompey's Pillar National Monument, the Bighorn River, and the Bighorn National Recreational area are not to be missed!

The Hardin KOA is located in the beautiful "Big Sky Country," near where Lt. Co. George Custer made his last stand. We invite you to stay with us while visiting our area's many attractions. The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument/Museum, Pompey's Pillar National Monument, the Bighorn River, and the Bighorn National Recreational area are not to be missed! A trip to the Yellowtail Dam should be included also, and the Custer's Last Stand Reenactment in late June is a big attraction every year.

Stay in our grassy tent sites, level RV sites, or cozy cabins. Enjoy our swimming pool, hot tub, horseshoes, and playground for the little campers. Swing on our new swings and visit with your friendly neighbors. You can go fishing for trout on the Bighorn River, just a mile away!

Don't forget our nightly Ice Cream Socials, and have a free cup of coffee every morning. We welcome pets to our Montana-sized pet walk (covering a full acre!) and ask owners to clean up after them.

The Hardin KOA is halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Mt. Rushmore. Come stay with us and enjoy all that our area has to offer. You'll be glad you did!

Close

The Hardin KOA is one of the very first campgrounds from KOA's early days of the 1960s. Since 1968, the campground has had just three owners before the current proprietors, Ken and Sandra Biery.

Since taking over the campground in 2006, the Bierys have done extensive cleaning, extended the usable areas, added sites and increased the Kabin inventory.

"We are small, but we're very friendly and eager to please," says Sandra. "And, we have trees in all the right spots!" Shade trees really count in June, when the campground fills up during the annual Little Bighorn Days, as spectators and participants enjoy the reenactment of the Battle of the Little Bighorn in Hardin.

"Sandra loves to sew and clean; and it shows!" says Ken. Before becoming KOA Kampground owners, Ken owned a tire service, which held the title of highest tire sales in Montana for more than 27 years.

"Ken loves people and he loves cutting the grass and making things grow," says Sandra, who was a hairdresser before launching her KOA career.

"Ken's hobby is work: he loves building things!" says Sandra.
