This KOA hinds behind their location. The KOA is exoensive and they do not even have proper mattresses in the cabins. Unlike other KOA’s, the cabins do not even have a fridge.

Everything was dirty. Washroom were worst. Cabins not mopped before checkin. Big campsite and only few dirty washrooms. Huge lineups in morning. Once main washroom stall was jammed and poop was overflowing on floor everywhere. Staff did cleaned it after hours. I will never come back to this KOA.

My family of 6 enjoyed our stay at the West Gate KOA. The kids loved the cabin, especially the separate room with the two bunk beds. They were surprised to have their own bed and we loved that we could close their bedroom door and have our peace in the front room. It was perfect.

1. The male washrooms were clogged for multiple days. 2. Water filter in the office needed to be changed as per the indication on it. This was informed to more than one staffs on separate days of our stay there but they gave cold shoulder. This is a health risk and I'll be raising this further.

Lots of cold rain while we were there. I was able to upgrade from my tent to a camping cabin and it made a wonderful difference. Taters from the café were slightly undercooked, but still delicious and hot on a cold wet night. Staff was super friendly and empathetic about the weather. Thank you, West Yellowstone!

Clean cabins and comfortable main bed. The pull out couch works great for younger kids but not suitable for adults. The fridge was not staying cool and the tv did not work. The TV not working was not a big deal as we spent majority of time outside, but may just want to take the tv out of the cabin in general if it doesn’t work. We loved the outdoor patio space!

Great place for affordable lodging. I would suggest that you consider offering bedding for a small rental fee.

Disappointed in the main men's bathroom. Toilets filled and clogged at various times to overflowing. What happened to the mat in the shower stalls? We are standing in water now. The waiting area can get slippery. Otherwise, our stay was as great as ever.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin and it was perfect. It had a bathroom, kitchenette, sofa, bed, table. Utensils and linens provided as well. The staff was wonderful. Quite cozy and relaxing. We will definitely stay again.

Location tells you all you need to know about the price for what you get. Overall fantastic! Well maintained, very friendly staff, nice amenities, and a nice store. VERY cute souvenirs! For $300 a night the cabins could use more of a sweep and a bigger sink would have been nice, even if it was still only in the bathroom. Would be back for the location.

Fabulous! Myself and my 2 daughters stayed in a camping cabin while my parents stayed in their camper. I loved the convenient location to Yellowstone Westgate, as well as all the family friendly amenities. My kids never complained they were bored! Will be returning in the future.

It is very crowded, camp sites are very close together. We loved the coffee and ice cream cabin!! The playground and pool were great for our little girl. The bathroom and showers could be updated and cleaned more often. Overall it was a fun stay.

Bathrooms were dirty; soap dispensers not always full; bed very hard in cabin; smoking policy is terrible. I don’t appreciate a cigarette/ cigar smokers fumes coming in my cabin around my children.

Great family campground, deserving of them holiday designation.Firewood is expensive. Mattress in cabin was poor and needs replacing. Garbage needs to be animal/raven proof. Lead by example when in this terrain.

The cabin was clean and set up well. It would have been nice to have hooks on the wall. We appreciated the heater and electricity. The grounds were nice, and we enjoyed the extensive playground and warm clean pool. The bathrooms and showers were generally clean. The coffee shack was a good. We wished the store had some fresh fruit or vegetables. The location was close to Yellowstone.

Everyone was very professional and friendly. Cabins, and restrooms/showers were clean.I can't wait for my next adventure and stay at a KOA. I highly recommend.

The cabin was great however we were locked out 3 days in a row. This was frustrating as we were tired and hungry when we got back then had to wait for maintenance to fix our door each night.

Thus was our first time staying at a KOA , 6 June 2026. We definitely loved our experience and will be doing ALOT MORE KOA stays in our future. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and that in it self makes most of the difference between an alright stay and an AMAZING stay! The property has so much to offer for all ages and is kept very organized and clean. It makes vacation memories so much fun!

I worked at the KOA in my youth years back and management ensured that the cabins were thoroughly cleaned after every stay. Now as an adult, I was very excited to return with my family only to discover filthy and unsafe accommodations. The cabin floors looked like it hadn’t been swept/mopped in some time with dead bug carcasses and hair all over the floor and bed frames. Huge disappointment!!

It was not told that the cabins come with no sheets, pillows, or bath anything. When traveling by plane, it is impossible to bring these supplies. And once purchase, it is a waste since you can’t bring them home

We had a deluxe cabin which was nice to have our own bathroom, mini fridge, microwave and Keurig!. Could have shown more attention to detail on cleaning because the bathroom sink was clogged,(which my husband unclogged) and in the shower the conditioner was solidified. Gave my concerns to front desk?? Overall enjoyed our stay sitting on the porch and having a tv!

Staying here was such a great experience. So many kids for my little one to be around. Kathy's service was 100% she made every thing so much better. Have local advice on Yellowstone and the good stops, accommodation with my last minute plans and all with a smile!

Original post July 2020: Great experience at West Gate KOA! My family and I didn't want to leave. After a reservation debacle at Madison Arms, we were able to get 2 sites to accommodate our large tents only 2 weeks before arrival. Grant who took my reservation was great! Also said that if we only need 1 they would cancel the other with full refunds. Really everyone was great. My only con would be the bathrooms by the cabins. Should do more spot cleaning in there. People are so messy. Update: June 2026. Stayed again and had a wonderful time. Management is working had on updates that have made this place better. Very happy.
