Campground Reviews

We had 4 nights and we spent our days in Yellowstone and Tetons. The site was great with shade and a breeze. The pool was refreshing but had a lot of unattended kids. This was a very convenient location and the staff was very friendly.

Unique
We enjoyed our stay for the second time. Had a bit of an issue with the men’s bathroom rooms at the main and lower stations as almost all the stalls to toilets were plugged. I mentioned it at the office and assume it was looked after. The showers at the main office were not as clean and well maintained as they were when we stayed there last year.

Great stay

We had a great time! Lots of fun activities for the kids. I loved the coffee cabin and our cabin itself was great. My only negative comments are the wood for sale is very overpriced at $12.50/cord and the shower I used was dirty.

Very friendly staff, great location for visiting Yellowstone, nice campsite. However, a bit run down, many of the rental bikes are broken, bathroom and kitchen facilities were not very clean.

KOA's never disappoint. Always have fun and feel safe.

The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Everything was nice & clean. Many activities, indoor pool, & large playground for children. Very family oriented.

Campsitesxwere clean and well kept. Check in personnel.were very accommodating when a incorrect site was assigned. From 30 amp to 50. When 50 was on reservation. Many amenities. To many you mention. Most popular. Handbdipped ice cream. Freshly cooked breakfast. Coffee bar. To bike, and peddle cars to rent. Oh yeah. An in door pool.

Good

The park is too big without the amenities to support its size. When full, everything is too crowded to be enjoyable. And. You should have a gym.

The campground is extremely large. The women’s bathroom near the cabins needs to be cleaned more. I’m pretty sure there’s black mold in there too. It can be seen on the ceiling near showers and on wood paneling. For how large the park is; many cabins, tents, and rvs in that section there should be an addt’l set of bathrooms. Wished there was an adult pool or hot tub. It was a mad house in

We felt that the rate per evening was a little high. The campground itself was very clean and has a lot of things to do for the kids. The TV reception and options need to be improved. There were many times we could not connect.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. We were supposed to have a bunk bed in our cabin and they tried to help us figure it out. We ended up not being able to switch. The cabin was very dirty. The shower curtain was full of mildew, and smelled really bad. For the price, we really expected a better experience.

We enjoyed our stay at the Yellowstone Park/West Gate KOA.
Jul 13, 2025
Stayed three nights which allowed us to visit Yellowstone National Park as teh west gate is very close to the KOA. KOA restroom/showers were clean and well maintained. The store is big and there is a takeout kitchen and coffee shop.

Close to Yellostone National Park. Close to the town of West Yellowstone. Beautiful scenery. Staff very nice.

It was the best KOA I've ever seen. Expensive, as it is close to the park, and the coffee at the stand was just terrible. But I've never seen a more child friendly campground, and we will be coming back in the years ahead.

We had a great time very kid, friendly fun activities like that you had a place to have breakfast in a dinner so only thing was not enough showers and showers were very dated. There are lines for showers with like 15 people waiting.

Stayed in back in site along highway. Very loud as traffic never lets up! Pool was very murky. Shower stalls very dirty! More shower stalls needed as the wait line was pretty long. Bathrooms were clean and staff very friendly and helpful though. Interior sites would have been quieter!

Very impressive KOA. Everyone was friendly but Scott at the grill was one amazing guy. He’s definitely the type of person you need around to chat with the guests. He was very helpful with explaining the area and where things are in and around the park!

Our sites were small but level! Our concrete pad was unusable and much smaller than some! To be considered a premium site, the concrete pad should be useable! Our friend had swing that was also very unstable wobbly!

Loved it and very accommodating.

Loved this park. Great amenities, nice, shaded sites, and great location.

Our stay at Yellowstone Park/West was absolutely great. Many pine trees for shade. Personnel were friendly and willing to go out of their way to help us. The upper sites could be a little bit leveler side to side. Almost everyone struggled to get level. We had to ask for a different site as our first site was about 5 inches low on the downhill side and I didn't have enough blocks to get level.

Grounds are nice and staff were friendly. We had a deluxe cabin and it was significantly more money than a basic cabin. The bed was comfy and view nice. The towels were dingy and it wasn’t very clean overall. The biggest issue is the cabin was in the sun and no AC or fan. It was unbearable inside, even with windows open. Considering the price we paid, I wouldn’t do it again.

Great location to access the park. Sites are a little close and drive access was a little questionable but rigs are a lot bigger now than when the park was originally built I'm sure. Would love to see more Paw Pen sites, there were only 3 in this massive park. Everything was clean and maintained, people were friendly and helpful.

They were very accommodating and assisted with reservation changes several times during our stay. 10/10

Loved our stay at the Yellowstone West Gate KOA. Del and the others at the office were extraordinarily kind and helpful. You can feel the pride they have in their job and their love of Yellowstone and it made it for a great experience. Our kids LOVED the ice cream, the oversized jump pad and park. We fell in love with the area and were thankful to have a great spot to come back to each day!

Great facility. Clean neat organized. Great for the family. Quiet after 10pm

We stayed for one night on our trip to Yellowstone. The site we had was a very level pull thru. The bathrooms were very clean. The store was stocked with just about anything you’d need. Staff were really nice. It was a very pleasant experience.

Would have preferred more parking at the pool, restrooms, and other areas as not everyone is physically capable of walking long distances. Overall a good stay tho.

The staff here is incredible!!! Especially Del. We love Del!! We drove in with damage to our travel trailer by hitting a patch of "rough road" in the park. The staff recommended a local mobile RV expert, Erik Dawkins. Highly recommend him as well. We had a lovely stay. The facilities here are exceptional. I highly recommend this specific KOA!!!

We would of gave it half star if we could. The showers were not clean we were put by the highway and for 2 days we had very little sleep. We will never stay there again

Great location Lots of activities. Breakfast was amazing. It's a great place to camp
Jul 11, 2025
No mini fridge, microwave or ac available in the camping cabins in a small heater. The sleeping pads were a bit worn. Sleep was difficult due to a neighboring unit using a bug zapper late into the night. Bathrooms decent but aged. Children approved of the jump pad, playground and pool that was available.

Way overpriced, charged for things that are free at other campgrounds such as metal recumbent bikes, charged $12 for a tiny bundle of wood (don’t buy it there, bundles are $5 each right next door to the campground). Had a sassy teen answering the phone who was unwilling to ask for help from other staff and just said she didn’t know when asked simple questions. Some of the staff were great, not

Very clean and quiet

The facilities are first-rate. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful. The scenic surroundings are breathtaking. The close proximity to Yellowstone is convenient. Though a little higher cost than other RV parks, every cent was worth it. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely bathrooms. Great pool for us and kids. Picnic table and chair swing very nice. Loved the ice cream too!

The site and all the hookups were as described. Being at a KOA you don't expect problems but I had a $100 camp chair stolen from my site when i wasn't there. Lock stuff up before you venture out.

Space was clean and well manicured. Utilities all worked very well. Staff seemed over worked, might need more help as they offer alot of different activities. Showers and bathrooms at the main lodge were very clean and updated. Could serve there coffee shack coffee till a later time of 9:30, and I wasn't the only guest thinking that.

The Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA is a beautiful campground with RV, cabin, and tent sites. Our patio site featured mature pine trees, a swing, and a picnic table. Amenities included an indoor pool, dog park, camp store, coffee shop, and ice cream stand. Its location just minutes from Yellowstone's West Entrance made it an ideal base for exploring the park. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

The park is truly one of the gems of the national parks system. Allow at least two full days to explore all of the wonders. A must go for everyone.
