We have stayed at dozen’s of KOA’s in recent years and this is the worst one. The grounds are desert-like, the wifi is weak and spotty, there is no over-the-air TV, no cable TV, had to sign a legal waiver “in case you stub your toe or anything like that”, untrained staff - “I have no idea” to our questions, only had the 2023 KOA Directory. Restrooms/Showers clean and well maintained. Sites are average. Staff friendly. Location is close to Helena, 30 minutes.

The most subpar KoA we’ve stayed at. Silos down the road if you don’t need the hookups.

Sorry your experience was bad. I try to keep a stocked store for your needs, clean bathrooms and laundry room, water for dogs in the dog park.I am a Journey KOA so many amenities are not available.

Friendly staff. Beautiful setting by the lake. Enjoyed listening to the cows across the road. Close to town for supplies. Clean RR.

We chose this KOA for a several month stay and it has been very nice. I appreciate the management being helpful and ready to serve your needs. Since this area is a popular summer recreation setting (fishing & camping), this KOA serves many roles for meeting the needs of people camping within the KOA park and other recreationists by providing food, ice, boat gas, dump stations, fresh water, etc.

Friendly, helpful staff, great little store/laundry/office. A cabled satellite would be nice, also better mowing & weedeating. And better WiFi, but overall it’s been a very enjoyable stay

We stay at the KOA in Townsend alot as we live close. For the most part its very nice stay. Since they got new owners it seems things are going down hill. The prices have gone up but the care for the KOA has gone down. The weeds, dog pooh, and trash around the campsites are a little much for what we pay. If I could make a suggestion, take more time to clean up the Campsites . Thank you!

I am surprised you have not seen the updated laundry room, bathrooms, cabins, and the relocation of the dog park from the cactus cage to the grassy knoll with shade structure! Prices havn't changed since 2020 & we are cheaper than Town Pump on many items!

We have been in and out of the KOA all summer. Each time we were treated with excellent service. One of the nicest hosts we have ever encountered. We will probably stay here often in the future.

Very quiet area near the lake. Friendly service and good food for purchase. The store has many helpful items and the sites were easy to get in and out of.

The grounds are a little rustic but the people are super friendly and helpful. It was a pleasant stay and if all goes well we will do it again next year.

Staff was friendly and helpful, Prices were good. The store was great, but the upkeep of the grounds, were less then desirable, lots of weeds, and grass not cut, plus there were a lot of "Full time" residents it looked like living there? versus just being an RV park for short stays.

Clean spots and bathrooms. The store is more of a convenience store for groceries, boating, and fishing supplies for campers who don't have what they need. Deborah is friendly and courteous towards all guests.

I greatly dislike campsites that are not clearly defined. We had to guess where the beginning and end of the site were. It was the same for all sites. It was a very noisy location. People with Polaris vehicles, and people with boats drove around constantly, both within the campground, and up and down the road outside, towards the lake. The KOA employees were very polite and helpful.

Bathrooms were extremely clean and the shower was beautiful. Nice campground that was well run and organized. Not a lot of trees or shade, but that’s to be expected. Lots of traffic on the road to Canyon Ferry, which died down around 9:30/10

After seeing no availability on the website, I called and Debbie was extremely helpful in arranging for us to have a site. I am really grateful. This is a nice park, particularly if you are a boater or a fisherman.

We were out in a field, crowded in with a few other RVs. The people were nice and helpful, but it was just weird.

Our neighbor had a set up a connector on our water spigot that diverted some water to a sprinkler that she had for a patch of grass between sites….we thought that was weird. She had water sprinkling on our electric box. The sites were smaller and more crowded than other KOAs we’ve been in. The site was clean and quiet..so that was great. Bathrooms were wonderful and clean cared for.

We stayed for early spring at canyon ferry. RV hookups were ready for cold temps. Owners/ managers accommodated our need for extra parking.

Very quiet campground, owners are doing alot of upgrades. We stayed in a 46' 5th wheel and had not problems fitting in a site or navigating through the park. Will return again.

I stayed in October at an electric/ water hook up; didn’t need the water since winter came early and I had winterized my trailer. The warm restroom with hot showers were nice and not crowded since there were few people staying during hunting season. Grounds were well kept and organized. The owners were very friendly, responsive, and helpful. I would definitely recommend.

Customer service sucked. Your campground wasn’t kept up. Nothing was kept up. To us it shows you don’t care what your KOA looks like. We’ve traveled plenty of journeys and no one looked like yours. Montana has beauty and your KOA doesn’t reflect any of that. There is so much potential at your location and you’re not capitalizing on it whatsoever.

They advised Wi-Fi but we were unable to get on, couldn’t check emails. They said they only have small bandwidth but my guess is the full timers get first choice, about a third of guests full time. Wouldn’t stay there again, no refunds for early check out so we stayed anyway.

I really like the koa here in Townsend, Deb and her husband, are Great people and very friendly folks. The bathrooms and showers are always clean , And they have a few laundry machines, that work great . And also a nice store with a lot of walleye tackle and various R.V.stuff that's essential 👍

I was thinking of writing a bad review so you guys would stay away from this amazing small restaurant. There's often a wait line if you go after 8pm …but ohhh so worth the wait. The food and the dynamic duo…Anna and Miguel make it a super enjoyable dining experience. Pizza is outstanding …thin and crunchy and the burrata will melt in your mouth with the thinly sliced prosciutto. When I'm in Miami I go as often as I can…and NO…I dont tell anybody anymore. STAY AWAY…..more for me!

Beautiful camp, very clean facilities ( showers and toiletts) and well equipped. Lovely landscape, close ro the river. There is also a nice convenient shop and the hosts were very helpfull!!!
