Many people lived here full time, bicycles, tricycles, diapers, dogs in runs, many dogs off leashes, and too much to mention. Also, the huge garbage dumpsters smelled foul, the stench filled the entire park. The place was a mess, period. Not KOA standards.

The worst KOA we have stayed in. Dusty, dirty, dog run terrible. The only good thing was the staff checking us in with the exception of the woman smoking a cigarette Sitting at the check in desk. No one wearing masks although required in Montana.

Great place to go camping! Really friendly staff, clean restrooms and showers, reasonably priced. Close to the lake. Food and other convenient supplies on-site.

The folks at the KOA at Townsend are amazing! The bathrooms and shower rooms were spotless and always fully stocked. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Will stay again if we are in the area again.

Original site assigned occupied Second site 50 amp instead of requested 30 amp. Island between sites full of glass I am sure meant to be decorative but any child could have hurt themselves running barefoot.We observed no one cleaning or checking sites very disappointed ����

The location was beautiful! The other guests made this trip memorable for sure! The only downfall was the very rude and unfriendly staff. We will come back when under new ownership

This being our 3rd visit to a KOA.....we had been set up for very high expectations...Greycliff/Big Timber, and Red Lodge....set the bar very high! From the moment of check-in until the day before check-out, I was treated with disregard, making me feel every single time I visited the store to make a purchase, as if I was a burden. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED...SAD

Like being in a group of squatters, the locals imediatly did not want us in the area.. Had the sheriff called on us less than an hour into our stay. we Travel alot with our grandsons, and have never once had any issue, we actually did not sleep all night after the incident. This KOA seems more like a perm rv trailer park.

No green space at all, very dusty. All pull thru sites. Washers and dryers good, but dead bugs all over window sills in laundry area. Beautiful new clean shower house. Great book exchange and well stocked camp store. Many seasonal campers.

We were just traveling through the area and called for a one night stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and easy to get in and out. Will stay again when in the area.

We stay at KOA when ever we can. However our stay at Townsend was substandard. From the reception to the actual tent site to the ‘ribs’ at the FFlamingo it was way below KOA’s standard!!

The location of the tent space is not ideal. It faced an old boat & RV lot, as opposed to the water or trees/nature. It smelled like dead carcass.(Perhaps the taxidermy RV/shed next to it) I left within 3 hrs of arriving. As a single traveler, I didn’t feel safe.

Good for a couple of nites....great access to the lake but if you want to fish you willneed a boat. Helena is up the road about 25 miles if you need services.

Lost power called the number no response,talked to the restaurant nearby he called her personal phone no answer power returned at 9 pm still no call from manager checked out the morning explained my concern and they really didn’t care l will be reporting this

STAFF WAS NICE ENOUGH, BATHROOM WAS SKETCHY. LOTS OF LONG TERM RESIDENTS, OBVIOUS BY ATTACHED DECKS. MY SPACE WAS NEXT TO ONE. THEIR TWO DOGS ATTACKED MY DOG & SHE DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE- NO APOLOGY. LEASH RULE SHOULD APPLY TO THE LONG TERM FOLKS TOO. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE TRAVELING WITH A PET. SENT G-SON TO BUY INSTANT POTATOES IN STORE- EXP WAS SEPT 2016- CHECK DATE BEFORE PURCHASING!

Not well kept. Too many permanent residents. Pool would be nice since swimming in lake isn't recommended. Weedy, rocky dog park. Good store, that's about it. Ok for 1 night pass thru stay.

Came from Iowa to visit a friend. Had a good stay. The lake is beautiful. The Flamingo restaurant was wonderful, loved the huckelberry shakes. John and Carolyn Ricker

The map they had was very misleading it showed sites that were near the water that did no belong to koa. Their trash was filled with dead fish which stunk up the campsite. The site we were at near the front entrance was a dust bowl when ever anyone drove by. I would not recommend them to anyone, places like this give koa a bad name.

This has turned into a mobile home park and is not a campground. Dog pens everywhere, stuff piled up outside of trailers, but the few people I met were nice. The staff were very friendly and nice - 5 stars. The store was well-stocked and clean. I am self-contained so I don't use the public facilities. KOA needs a nationwide policy to limit stays. I am cancelling my VRK. I'll stay elsewhere.

Showers and cabins are clean, staff is friendly. First time this year seeing more smokers infront of the entrance of the KOA office and more "permanent " campers with lots of clutter, hope it doesn't turn into a trailer park.

Booked 2 nights for tent camping. We were basically in a hole. No view, dried up weeds. Nice people, though who ran it. Left after 1 night. The camper sites looked nice.

I really like the koa here in Townsend, Deb and her husband, are Great people and very friendly folks. The bathrooms and showers are always clean , And they have a few laundry machines, that work great . And also a nice store with a lot of walleye tackle and various R.V.stuff that's essential 👍

I was thinking of writing a bad review so you guys would stay away from this amazing small restaurant. There's often a wait line if you go after 8pm …but ohhh so worth the wait. The food and the dynamic duo…Anna and Miguel make it a super enjoyable dining experience. Pizza is outstanding …thin and crunchy and the burrata will melt in your mouth with the thinly sliced prosciutto. When I'm in Miami I go as often as I can…and NO…I dont tell anybody anymore. STAY AWAY…..more for me!

Beautiful camp, very clean facilities ( showers and toiletts) and well equipped. Lovely landscape, close ro the river. There is also a nice convenient shop and the hosts were very helpfull!!!
