Welcome to the trout capital of Georgia! That's right, you read correctly! In 2005 Georgia named Fannin County as the trout capital of Georgia. Our campground has 1300 feet of Toccoa River access and is located near one of the heavily stocked areas on the Toccoa. In addition to trout fishing, visitors can enjoy kayaking, tubing, and paddle boarding. There are also multiple hiking trails that anyone can hike starting at the beginner level and working up to an advanced level. Our campground is also conveniently located near Lake Blue Ridge where visitors can enjoy boat rentals, fishing, and swimming.

Tammen Park is located on the Toccoa River in Blue Ridge and is the starting point for guests who are wanting to kayak or tube down the river. Amenities at the park include: playgrounds, restrooms, pavilions, softball field, easy access to fishing on the Toccoa River, and a launch pad for kayaks and canoes.

This moderately trafficked trail is located in the heart of the Cohutta National Forest. The trail is 23.7 miles round-trip and is located near Epworth, GA. The Cohutta Wilderness Loop Trail is best known for its impressive waterfalls. The best time to walk this trail is March - November.

Toccoa River Swinging Bridge

Toccoa River Swinging Bridge

Located just outside of downtown Blue Ridge, the Toccoa River Swinging Bridge is the perfect hike for families. This bridge is an easy-to-moderate hike, has spectacular views, and is great for the whole family. 

In order to access the bridge cars must first travel on a long and skinny gravel road (great for smaller vehicles, but not ideal for motorhomes) to get to the parking lot. 

DirectionsFrom the intersection of Hwy 515 and Hwy 5 (McDonalds) in Blue Ridge, follow Hwy 515 East approximately 4 miles to the traffic light at Hwy 60. Turn right and go to the stop sign; then turn left on Hwy 60. Go 1.5 miles into Morganton, then turn right on Hwy 60 South toward Dahlonega for 11.3 miles passing Skeenah Mill. Another .7 miles on the right is FS 816, turn right there and follow ROUGH gravel road about 3 miles to the parking area. Short hike down to the Toccoa River & Swinging Bridge.
