12 Annual Fire & Ice Chili Cook Off and Craft Beer Festival
Mark your calendars for live music, ice sculptures, amazing chili and craft beer! Buy a $10 Tasting Card to sample the competition and vote for the People's Choice Award. Enjoy an amazing display of individual and unique ice sculptures from the award-winning National Ice Carving Champion, Rock On Ice, including several ice carving demonstrations in the park during the entire event. Tasting cards will be sold from 11 am to 2:30 pm. Tasting begins at noon. All People's Choice votes MUST be turned in by 2:30 pm. COOK-OFF WILL HAPPEN COME RAIN, SNOW OR SHINE!

PLEASE NOTE - This is a very hilly course. It is suitable for walkers and beginners, but it does have some challenging spots.

The Rhododendron Festival - Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds
Spend some time strolling through 20 acres of Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens, a beautiful woodland garden quietly tucked away in the North Georgia Mountains. This magical botanical garden is filled with native wildflowers like trilliums, shooting stars, and trout lilies, and more than 1,500 rhododendrons and native azaleas making it the largest collection in the Southeast! Peak bloom time is April & May and we are going to celebrate with The Rhododendron Festival! Mark your calendars for 4 weekends of fun! The 2023 Rhododendron Festival -4 weekends during peak bloom time from April 21st thru May 7th - Friday & Saturday only. Admission is $5.00 per person. No pets are allowed inside the gates.

Leanne Morgan: Just Getting Started Tour
Leanne's comedy has landed her at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and has brought her development deals for her own sitcom with ABC and Warner Brothers, writer/producer Matt Williams (Rosanne and Home Improvement), TV Land and with Sony Television. Leanne has garnered over 2 million followers across social media and her popular stand-up special, So Yummy, has reached over 50 million views on YouTube. Her fan base continues to grow with her relatability as she discusses everything from being a housewife, sharing Jell-O recipes, to having a new grandbaby. She has appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, The View, Nick at Nite's Funniest Mom and toured with the Southern Fried Chicks.
Now that her children are grown, Leanne is currently on The Big Panty Tour for her 100-show theater run across the U.S. with Outback Presents. In December 2022, Leanne will tape her first special for a major streaming platform and then will be back on the road with her next 100-show theatre and arena Just Getting Started tour with Outback Presents in 2023.

Trout Trot 5K
Join us for a 5K series like NO OTHER, one that crosses two state lines! The Riverwalk Run Series hosts seasonal cross-state 5Ks four times a year.Our course takes runners through the charming downtown areas of McCaysville, Georgia and its sister city, Copperhill, Tennessee – two cities united by a state line at the heart of historic Copper Basin. Covering 3.1 miles, participants will not only cross from Georgia into Tennessee and back into Georgia, but they will also run through our iconic steel bridge, with one amazing story!Food, drinks, and music can be found before and after the race on the regions largest river deck of Riverwalk Shops, located just across the street from the starting line.Race Timeline4:30 PM - Race Setup6:30 PM - Race Starts at McCaysville Information Center7:00 PM - Awards on Riverwalk Shops River Deck8:00 PM - Race Cutoff

Travis Tritt LIVE
Enjoy a special evening with CMA and Grammy award-winning country artist, Travis Tritt, on Saturday, June 10th at Anderson Music Hall at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee.This show, which will include Tritt's band, will give attendees an opportunity to hear some of the performer's biggest hits, including “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” “It's A Great Day to Be Alive” and “Best of Intentions.” Plan to sing along with Tritt's vast catalog of crowd favorites like “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde” and “Here's a Quarter — songs that have created a devoted fan base that continues to sell-out shows across the globe. Walk the Line 5K
Join us for America's ONLY 5K that crosses two states! The Riverwalk Run Series offers four opportunities, all in McCaysville, Georgia. The next event is our Walk the Line 5K on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 6:30pmThe course takes runners through the charming downtowns of McCaysville, Georgia and sister city Copperhill, Tennessee. The community is united by a state line at the heart of historic Copper Basin. Covering 3.1 miles, the course crosses from Georgia into Tennessee and back into Georgia. Participants will also run alongside the famous Toccoa River and across the city's iconic steel bridge—one of only a few left in America.Food, drinks and music will be available before and after the race on the river deck of Riverwalk Shops. Parking is free and plentiful, located right across the finish line at McCaysville's City Park.

Lake Blue Ridge Fireworks
Fireworks will be put on by the Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association. This event begins at dusk.

Chimp or Treat at Project Chimps
Saturday, October 28th, and Sunday, October 29thTickets available from 10:30 am -1:30 pm - actual tour time determined at event check-in. Children are invited to "Chimp or Treat" in costume to see the sanctuary and enrich the lives of the chimps! Tickets are $10 per child 15 & under. Each child's ticket comes with a free adult ticket. Additional adult tickets may be purchased for $35 each. Children 2 and under are free! EACH CHILD WILL RECEIVE A 45-60 minute, guided, walking tour special "treat" bag to Trick or Treat for vegan candies as well as non-food treats items such as temporary tattoos, erasers, and other goodies chance to see our chimps in their habitat from one of our viewings windows you would like your child to participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project and receive only non-food goodies, please indicate this at checkout. We are offering opportunities for this event to families who could not otherwise afford the ticket price, if you would like to contribute and underwrite the cost of a ticket for another child, please add this as a donation during checkout. Donated tickets will be provided to various Fannin County coordinators who work with families and children in need. Visit their website for ticket availability guide Guided Walking Tour Details -Tour groups will be limited to accommodate for social distancing and to ensure that both chimps and humans can enjoy the tour. Guests are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before the start time of your tour window. You may be in a group with other guests. Please try to keep 6 feet in between your group and other groups. Will We See Chimps on the Tour? Chimpanzee sightings are very likely but are not guaranteed as the chimps have the option to be visible or to hide in the forested outdoor habitat. How Hard is the Walk around the Sanctuary? Please Read! -Expect a 45-60 minute, moderate hike on gravel roads with some steep inclines. The hike can be challenging for young children, less active adults, and those with limited mobility. If you have guests in your group who may not be able to complete a moderate hike, PLEASE request mobility assistance when purchasing tickets. We regret that we may not be able to accommodate day-of-event requests for mobility assistance.

Light Up Blue Ridge & Christmas Parade
Blue Friday will include downtown merchants stor discounts, Christmas holiday cheer, food vendors, and strolling entertainment.
Light Up Blue Ridge will be full of Christmas cheer, strolling Christmas entertainment, food vendors, and children will be able to visit Santa Claus in the gazebo located in the park. Pictures with Santa will take place in te gazebo from 12pm-4:30pm.
The Gingerbread Village will be open to the public at noon from November 25 to December 11 at the Arts Center.
The Christmas Parade is on Saturday the day of Light Up Blue Ridge, and it starts at 5:30pm and runs down E. Main from Church Street to Mountain, down Mountain and back up to W. Main to Depot Street.
