Tent Reviews

Train every 30-60minutes all night makes it difficult to sleep, significant people noise after quiet hours in surrounding area (not fellow campers), gas powered golf carts from 1-3am, flood lights from the car dealership next door. $9 firewood bundles. First and last KOA, I'll be sticking to state parks - much more quiet, secluded, trees and wilderness. KOA felt like camping in a busy parking lot.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry for your bad experience, we are very transparent about the train that runs off property, we are a city type campground that has a ton of family's that camp with us during Halloween time, very busy as stated in our descriptions if you are looking for quiet and in nature we are not it.

The people make up for the crazy amount of trains that go through this park:-) everyone was so welcoming and the campgrounds are very very clean.

I appreciate 2 pools, the sink on site was fantastic too. However, I wish I knew about the trains ahead of time. I couldn’t get any sleep and the gravel base for tents didn’t help with that either. I think this is more recommended for those in RVs. We had to leave a day early due to how terrible the sleep was. With that said, the staff was friendly. I am disappointed and the cost felt a bit hi

Great stay, clean facilities, friendly staff. Very communicative about events happening at the campground. Would definitely stay here again.

Facilities were great. Staff were fantastic and helpful. Location to Kalahari and Cedar Point were perfect. My only complaint is the train going past the KOA blowing its Whistle consistently throughout the night. Being a light sleeper, i had a tough time.

This was our first time checking out this KOA. We frequent Cedar Point and are thinking about doing some longer stays next summer. We LOVED the site we had! The concrete patio and fire ring set up was perfect! My boys enjoyed the jump pad and pools. We also got the pancake breakfast in the morning and it was very good! We will definitely be back for a longer stay next year!

Brittany was super helpful and very welcoming. The tent sites were clean and well maintained. The covered dining area and fire pit were also wonderful. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Got more than we'd hoped for, so many amenities we didn't have time to take advantage of them all.

We felt the campground was more set up for long term camping and the tent site while OK was not suitable for our tent (we made do) Had some rude neighbors and there were lights on all nioght

Bathrooms need cleaning.

This was a fun stay with clean bathrooms. The camp sights are tightly packed with a loud train that runs by all night long. These things are what they are, but they mean this KOA will never get 5 stars.

it's a nice campground but they are priced way too high compared to the campgrounds around them they didn't keep the shower house as clean as they usually do

I really wanted to love this place, but the location right next to a train track really ruined the experience. In all fairness, that info was on the site, but I have NEVER experienced a track that busy in my life! It seemed like every 30 min a train blew through there. Aside from the train and the men’s bathroom being disgusting (so my husband and boys say) everything else was wonderful!

Tent-Camped the 2024 Eclipse. The staff (from Office to Grounds) were more than polite, friendly, and professional. The entire campground was spotless. Bring earplugs for the trains' passing nightly, but you will not find a better spot so close to Sandusky!

Great stop for the night, but no hot tub?! How can a KOA not have a hot tub?! The trains were loud all night, but the tent site was nice. The bathrooms weren't bad either!

Wanted to go see Lake Erie so took our camper and headed north. found this KOA located in the perfect location. Park was large, clean and pet friendly. We visited many local restaurants and bars. Fished everyday from various piers.

This review is based solely on our limited use of the campground. We were in town for a baseball tournament down the street at SportsForce Park, so we spent very limited time at the campground. The campground is less than one minute drive away from the sports complex! It is also less than a 10 minute drive to Cedar Point amusement park. We did not use any of the amenities during our visit, but I can tell you the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with our site upon arrival and they took care of it for us without hesitation. We travel with a 36ft TT and were in site 114. The sites around us had plenty of room for large RVs plus plenty of room in between sites. The concrete pads with patio furniture were very nice.
