Tent Reviews

The property was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. However, the bathrooms attached to the main office were not well maintained, we couldn't get in contact with staff when our neighbors were shouting at 2am, and the tent box was filled with gravel which made it very difficult for the stakes to remain in the ground especially when it gets windy.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry for the bad experience - We do have a warning explaining the last week of May & the first week of June is Bike Week - Our campground has bikes coming and going all weekend, our late night staff was doing what they could during this big weekend. Tent descriptions explains the pea gravle boxs.

Bathroom at office was really outdated. Just feel a little discriminated that we tried to add one day to our stay to be told that tent sites are usually pet-free and we couldn't book the extra night. We made sure our 3 registered service dogs 3.5 pound Yorkie and Yorkiepoo and a standard poodle were quiet, and we never once left them at the campsite alone. Taking the RV next time I guess.

Very good camping site. Nice flat area for tent and easy set up. Pools were excellent and friendly atmosphere.

Truly enjoyed my stay. I had family with us who weren't used to camping and they (especially the kids) really enjoyed the campground. What my husband liked most was the layout of the grounds - we had a space for both trailer and tent together - as well as the gazebo and outdoor sink. I will stay again if I return to Sandusky - no doubt about it.

The most luxurious camp site I've ever had. If that's what you want, this is the place! Not a tree in site but at least you can have a camp fire. Store had all your basic supplies and more plus the staff was very friendly. Definitely not a woodsie camping experience nor is it right on the lake. But they lots for a family to do.

Our tent site was beautifully set up. The desk people were very accommodating when we needed a proper adapter for our electrical cord. My only issue with this stay was the completely inappropriate behavior of the unsupervised teens at the pool and dirty bathrooms. They were cussing, jumping in the pool over the top of smaller children in the area and no staff to hold them to the rules.

The pools were beautiful. The campsites were great with the gazebo and fire pits. The bathrooms and showers were rarely cleaned, very dirty. There were young kids driving golf carts around through out the night, very loud. They should have some sort of security, anyone can come into the campground at anytime, not secure.

Everything was great except I didn't realize the train tracks were so close. Made it very difficult to sleep. All in all though, everyone had a great time.

The pools are heated and very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful…the best staff of anywhere we’ve been! We were a little disappointed that the website promised family movie night every night, but we found out when we got there it is just on the weekends. We’ll definitely come on the weekend next time we visit since there are more activities then.

Train every 30-60minutes all night makes it difficult to sleep, significant people noise after quiet hours in surrounding area (not fellow campers), gas powered golf carts from 1-3am, flood lights from the car dealership next door. $9 firewood bundles. First and last KOA, I'll be sticking to state parks - much more quiet, secluded, trees and wilderness. KOA felt like camping in a busy parking lot.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry for your bad experience, we are very transparent about the train that runs off property, we are a city type campground that has a ton of family's that camp with us during Halloween time, very busy as stated in our descriptions if you are looking for quiet and in nature we are not it.

The people make up for the crazy amount of trains that go through this park:-) everyone was so welcoming and the campgrounds are very very clean.

Wanted to go see Lake Erie so took our camper and headed north. found this KOA located in the perfect location. Park was large, clean and pet friendly. We visited many local restaurants and bars. Fished everyday from various piers.

This review is based solely on our limited use of the campground. We were in town for a baseball tournament down the street at SportsForce Park, so we spent very limited time at the campground. The campground is less than one minute drive away from the sports complex! It is also less than a 10 minute drive to Cedar Point amusement park. We did not use any of the amenities during our visit, but I can tell you the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with our site upon arrival and they took care of it for us without hesitation. We travel with a 36ft TT and were in site 114. The sites around us had plenty of room for large RVs plus plenty of room in between sites. The concrete pads with patio furniture were very nice.
