This is one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Out is clean, the sites all have a nice concrete patio with level gravel pads. Most of the sites have full hookups including cable. The bath houses were clean and functional. The only downside was the train tracks right outside the property, but we had out a./c on all night so I didn't hear them while sleeping. .

We had a great stay at the Sandusky KOA! All the staff was very helpful when we arrived, drove us right to our site. We loved all the kid activities and the daily reminders of events via text were super helpful. The train didn’t bother us a bit! One recommendation would be bathroom cleanliness. Several days they were pretty messy. All in all we had a great visit here.

We had a wonderful stay. Our grandkids were busy the entire time with things to do. Dogs were happy in the onsite dog pen. Would very much recommend!!

Overall our stay was very good. The park is clean, well-maintained and easy to access. The camp store is very convenient and has a good variety of items. The only disappointment was not getting TV WiFi included in the nearly $100 a night charge.

Only complaint is the WiFi, it was almost non existent I had to work while staying during the week and that connection was troublesome for meetings. Now days in 2026 the free WiFi for registered guests HAS to be better.

This is our 4th or 5th stay and we have enjoyed every one of them. Close to CP, did the African Safari and loved it. Our grandchildren love the bounce pad and pool. The staff is friendly and helpful.

VERY clean...well staffed. Current owner's parents started this campground in 1968. Staff and two swimming pools are great...heated to 83 degrees and perfect. Could ride your bikes to Cedar Point. Not a lot of shade but ask for recomendations on sites. For a destination town in the summer, the campground didn't seem too crowded as it's very large with sites spread out. Definitey will return.

Very clean. I liked the daily text reminders. I liked that laundry is 24/7. At first the trains were a little annoying but then got used to it. Loved that we had a pet pen and you had the dog parks. Stuff for kids to do was great and loved the camp store!

It was very nice. We didn't have any kids with us this time, but it looks like a great place for kid activities. We enjoyed the music played on Saturday afternoon/evening. The sites are a good size. There are not a lot of trees. Some areas feel kind of barren and exposed.

We got a site with a view of the bay, and it was beautiful. The site was clean and the furniture was very nice. They had so many activities for the kids that we didn’t see our grandchild for most of the stay. The pool was clean well maintained and they even had a happy hour with adult beverages, a plus in my book. We will definitely be back.

We are now obsessed with your campground! We have camped across the country and this one is top 2. Beautifully maintained, extremely friendly, helpful staff. We will definitely be back. Thank you to every one of your staff.

First time at a KOA - First time with an RV -definitly sticking with the KOA's. The folks at Sandusky were the sweetest and most helpful. The grounds were clean, easy to set up, and everyone was friendly. Lots of kids, plenty for them to do. Of course, lots to see and do around Sandusky, Port Clinton, and Huron. Will be back! :)

Campground was nice. The trains were very close and frequent.

The campground was amazing but the trains blew their horn eight times each time a train went by all night long. That was very disturbing and I may not come back because of the trains blowing the horns all night long kept us up all night

Great Campground. Enjoyed the daily text notifications of events.

Outstanding facility! Liked: Store Kitchen (biggest hot dog I've ever seen)...memos via TEXT to attend events... Well kept facilities through-out. Tell those train operators to refrain from horn! Could use a little more parking around store... We'll be back!

When checking in at the camp store was told since I'm local I have to pay a $300 deposit. Front desk people or really rude I stated that was never disclosed on me when I booked my site walking into the campground and they told me it was disclosed in the email upon them checking for 30 minutes they could not find it in the email I feel that as a discrimination policy not sure if I will be back .

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

sorry for your bad experience, the local fee is disclosed in the site description when booking. It clearly states there is a deposit, since you booked online and didn't read the description you were notified at check in. We do apologize and understand we may not be the campground for you.

Great KOA. Nice pools, clean bathrooms. Add a slide to the pools would be nice.

We loved the 2 pools and the kids play areas. Great location, 15 min from Cedar Point! It was pretty open during our stay, but there LOTS of spaces so I could see it getting fairly busy/tight. Recommend some signs to show traffic flow to the exit. The staff was very friendly and the store was fully stocked with everything we needed.

We were only there for 1 night but grounds were clean, easy in & out with our rig.

Nice Park, good overall, the site we were at needed better grass and the wood deck was meh. But we had a good stay, nice staff, good location.

Wonderful! We loved it! And the view and wildlife was amazing!

Check in was a bit bumpy as the staff person working with me knew little about what she was doing. If she was being trained, that is understandable, I am not sure if she was.

Wanted to go see Lake Erie so took our camper and headed north. found this KOA located in the perfect location. Park was large, clean and pet friendly. We visited many local restaurants and bars. Fished everyday from various piers.

This review is based solely on our limited use of the campground. We were in town for a baseball tournament down the street at SportsForce Park, so we spent very limited time at the campground. The campground is less than one minute drive away from the sports complex! It is also less than a 10 minute drive to Cedar Point amusement park. We did not use any of the amenities during our visit, but I can tell you the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with our site upon arrival and they took care of it for us without hesitation. We travel with a 36ft TT and were in site 114. The sites around us had plenty of room for large RVs plus plenty of room in between sites. The concrete pads with patio furniture were very nice.
