I-35 S Exit 160 Frost Bank Center Drive, turn left under bridge to second light Gembler Road, turn left, go 3/4 mile.

The campground is home to a variety of native plants that thrive in the South Texas climate. Keep your eyes open for:
Live Oaks & Mesquite Trees: Providing shade and a classic Texas silhouette.
Prickly Pear Cactus: With bright yellow blooms in spring, it’s a signature plant of the region.
Wildflowers: Depending on the season, you might see Indian Blanket (Gaillardia), Bluebonnets, and Firewheels adding a splash of color to the landscape.
These plants not only beautify the campground but also support the local ecosystem by attracting pollinators and providing shelter to wildlife.
Bring your binoculars—San Antonio is a prime spot for birdwatching and wildlife sightings. Some common sightings at and around the KOA include:
Northern Cardinals, Blue Jays, and Mockingbirds
Texas’ state bird, the Northern Mockingbird, can often be heard singing from the trees.
Eastern Cottontail Rabbits & Squirrels
You’ll often spot these critters hopping and scurrying near campsites, especially in the morning or early evening.
Turtles, Frogs, and Fish
Our pond is home to turtles and various fish species, and it’s not uncommon to hear a frog’s croak in the quiet hours.
Butterflies like the Monarch and Swallowtail flutter through the area, particularly near blooming flowers. Bees and dragonflies are also active in the warmer months, helping our wildflowers flourish and keeping the insect population balanced.
