I stay at many KOA's. Port lavaca is at the top of my list. Very clean, excellent hosts that are very helpful. Quiet and out of the way. Many activities including fishing in the bay, band and potluck. This Koa is out of the way and worth the trip to find it. Rates are some of the best I have seen. I will be back soon!!! Again excellent host and customer service that is what sets this Koa ahead!!!

Site 210 seemed like a great location. The General Store located right next to our campsite had four decent size speakers mounted on the outside of the store that played loud music all night. I thought the campground would turn the music off during the campgrounds “quiet time 10 pm”. But no, music will loud bass could be heard all night. The worse sleep I’ve had at a KOA.

We came in On 12-30 & left on 1-2 with several friends. Love this KOA as it has everything! Really enjoyed the fireworks, weather & peace & quiet.

We were very pleased with the facility and amenities. We felt comfortable letting our grandkids ride their bikes and play throughout the park.

We love coming to the Port LaVaca KOA. Two of our children rented cabins and our daughter and son-in-law camped next to us. There is so much for kids big & small to do. The grounds are pristine. The general store most likely has whatever you forgot to bring. All of their team members are so nice & helpful. We will be back again soon!!

Spent 5 days and the staff were great, the campground was not full between Christmas and New Year which I would have expected from other stays near a costal destination. Had fun fishing off of their fishing pier. I would stay there again.

Lovely campground with level sites, clean and really nice showers and laundry room, and great staff. Only about 15 minutes from town and very peaceful. We’ll be back for a longer stay!

Our favorite place to be! Love the Port Lavaca/Matagorda KOA! The facilities are wonderful and the staff is amazing! Thank you for having such a wonderful place for families to vacay!

Very clean facilities and well maintained campground. Beautiful scenery. The staff stayed in contact while making our way there as weather was bad coming in. We loved our stay and will be glad to visit again!

This is the best KOA park you can ever think of staying at. You cannot go wrong. I highly recommend. Travelers, families, hunters, fishermen or temporary workers. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

We really enjoy this KOA! Emily is especially helpful and everyone else is very nice and are helpful as well. We liked the layout and orientation of cabin K04 a lot. It would be nice if lights in the area behind he office were turned off overnight but we understand some folks like being out late. We enjoy moon and stars watching. We love kayaking and fishing here too. We’ll be back for sure!!

It was our first time at this campground and we enjoyed our stay. The common restroom and shower room were clean. The cabin was clean and well equipped. My only complaint was the blanket on the bed it has a smell like it has been used before. Luckily we brought our own beddings. The KOA staff were wonderful and friendly. t

We had a great time in the cabin! It was super clean both inside and out. The park is gorgeous and right by the water. There were plenty of activities to choose from, and the fishing off the dock seemed awesome. The owners and staff were really friendly and made us feel right at home.

The location was perfect for what I wanted. It was clean and had a lot to offer. For kids the had a pool, splash pad and a park. Had a pickleball court, sand volleyball area. And a dock for fishing, which is where we spent must of our time. They had activities. The staff was great. Good customer service and the grounds were in tip top shape. We will definitely be back.

We have stayed here many times. This time the employees were different and so was the atmosphere at the park. The office was not opened in the morning as it used to be. There was loud music coming from the office area into the night. I did the pre-checkin and when I arrived later, she had not even checked them. The campsites were not clean and ready. Ours had only 1 chair while 2 over had 3.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. As full-time RVers who have traveled coast to coast and stayed at countless campgrounds across the U.S., I can confidently say that the KOA in Port Lavaca is in a league of its own. Truly off the chain! Let's talk highlights: • Absolutely breathtaking views of Matagorda Bay—some of the best waterfront sites we've ever had. • Incredible amenities: • A fishing pier, boat slips, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and yes—even those giant floating aqua trikes (so fun!). • A pool, hot tub, shuffleboard, pickleball, volleyball, and even an arcade. • A dog park for your furry travel companions. • On-site pizza and camp store—this might sound small, but after a long drive and late check-in, having hot, delicious pizza on-site is a game changer. • Spacious, perfectly laid-out sites, many right on the water. Some allow you to fish right from your campsite! • Super clean grounds and facilities, with friendly, welcoming staff who make you feel right at home. What really sets this KOA apart is that it's not just RV-friendly—it's boater-friendly too. With boat slips available, you could literally arrive by land or by sea. It's situated directly on the bay, which connects to the Gulf, making it a paradise for anglers and water lovers. A couple tips: • Bring mosquito spray—being on the bay, the bugs do come out after sundown. • Book early if you want one of those primo waterfront sites—they're worth every penny! Final word: This campground offers everything—relaxation, adventure, scenery, and convenience. It's a gem on the Texas coast and we're already planning our return. Port Lavaca KOA, you nailed it.
