They need to re-instate the activities for the kids. The past weekend there was no activities for the kids as in the past. Everything else is top notch.

This site was an epic stay. Pool is nice and cool even during the hottest time of the year. Live the shuffle board set up. The swing up in the 2nd level really gives an amazing view of stars and matagorda bay. Pizza beer coffee bait and so much more available at store located on site. Arcade game was very nostalgic. Restrooms and shower super clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Paid for super premium site. Could see bay from one corner of site while four sites with great views empty. Grass not cut, weeds in sites. Price seems out of line with facility. No beach, limited water access, Wi-Fi described as “not available at all sites, not for streaming”. Seems like a great family place for lots of kids, but if you are looking for a stay at the beach, not the place for yo

142 is one of our most popular sites but guests can choose/move if they prefer another site. Yes grass/weeds have been a challenge as we've rcvd a significant amount of rain and had to wait for it to dry up to get to it. We are a very family/kid/pet friendly campground. Thank you for the review.

We loved our stay here! Lots of great kid oriented activities to keep the littles occupied! The "man-made beach" I wouldn't really call it that but the kids utilized the pool and splash pad more than anything. Will definitely be coming back!

We love KOA Port Lavaca and have come back many times over the years. We love coming in the summer and around October. We love the owner and the staff is always great, happy and helpful. It’s relaxing and what we need every trip.

Had a great time fishing. Bathrooms were very clean. Staff gave us a late check out due to storms. Pizza was hot and fresh! Can’t wait to go back!

Everyone has a lovely personality and very helpful to our needs and staff is very friendly I would definitely go back to their campground. I recommend it to all my friends to go and stay at this facility

Even though the weather was overcast and gloomy we were very pleased with our stay. Lindsey and her husband Steve were very friendly and helpful if we were to need anything. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi.

The location was great, right on the water. It was hot outside but there was always a nice breeze and plenty of water activities to cool us down. The staff was friendly and nice but special mention of Donnie. He was incredibly friendly and helpful, he made a huge difference in our stay. He's an asset to this campground and all visitors.

The Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA is wonderful!—the staff was very helpful, everything was so clean, the kids/everyone loved swimming, the splash pad, fishing on the pier, the beach area, and the root beer floats!! Such a family atmosphere!! We will return!!!

This is a beautiful campground, one of the best in the KOA system. Nice sites, friendly staff, nice little cafe and store. Lots of activities available.

From the moment I arrived at the site, untill I left, I really enjoyed it and I felt unbelievable comfortable. The grounds are clean, they had fun events all weekend long and Deann and Donny were super friendly and accommodating. They made me feel like part of family.

We stayed 7 nights at this quiet and relaxing park on the bay. Plenty of amenities. Restrooms were always clean. Friendly and accommodating staff who are always ready to please. Fantastic fishing pier. By far the best KOA we have stayed at. We can't wait to stay there again.

It was our first time and we loved it! Space 135 was perfect, we will be back. S’mores were great, kids loved the pool and arcade. The restrooms were clean as well which was important. Staff was super friendly and the place was quiet as well.

everything was great. I do not agree though with charging extra for adult. We have no children but do have an elderly mother that travels with us and I feel it is not right to charge extra. She used no more water than a child would. She did not use the pool or hot tub so I see no sense in the extra charge.

Grass was not mowed and mosquitoes were so bad we couldn't be outside. They spayed for mosquitoes the day we left but it should've been done before we arrived to stay in the yurt. Yurt does not look like the photo. Area was beautiful though and did enjoy that!

If you are a camper that like to stay put then this place is for you. If you want to get out and enjoy the area, I recommend somewhere else. The campground was overgrown and generally seemed unkept. The staff were hit or miss on friendliness.

Would have given a 5 but I don't really like the gravel lots. Also, I stepped in an ant pile. The grounds should be treated for Ants.

We love Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very clean and kept up. We highly recommend this KOA and will continue to return every Father’s Day weekend.

Overall stay was great, the grounds, staff, and activities were wonderful as always. Only complaint was the bed in our cabin (first cabin stay, we’ve always RV camped). It was very uncomfortable and noisy with any movement, making a good night’s sleep difficult. But the cabin was cute and very clean.

We had an incredible time with our girls. Our child requested to go camping for her birthday, we were able to reserve a Deluxe Cabin for our family of six. Everyone was very comfortable and the amenities offered are perfect for the experience. The staff went out of their way to ensure our birthday girl and her sisters were catered to. This is the KOA experience that made us become rewards members!

The only thing I would change would be adding group rates. For example at Christmas my family and 3 to 4 other families go to the cost for hoilday. Most of us rent cabins. We went online and the cabins are crazy priced for the winter. So sadly we will have to look somewhere else.

Adding even a small SANDY beach would make this place perfect. We dislike having to drive to Port Lavaca to a beach to swim and sand play. I’d also like some hooks in the cabin to hang wet towels/ swimsuits on. Ceiling fan in the bunkbed room would help with how hot and stuffy it gets in there. We did notice a new playground. Which was nice!

From the a moment we got there we enjoyed the amenities and the friendly customer service and staff. The owner was amazing and friendly and so communicative, I had lots of questions. The cabin was nice and clean on arrival. We had a little weather but thankful for the cabin. We have a pop up tent so glad we decied to use a cabin this round. We definitely want to go back again. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay! The staff were very kind, helpful, and informative. We loved all the activities the campground had to offer plus the live band and arts and crafts for the kids! Definitely would come back for another stay!

The location is great that it is not too far from home (obvi depending on where home is)but also that it is near water. The bay is calmer for kayak/SUP- among the other fun options to rent & enjoy the water. This is an ideal spot for young kids with the splash pad, pool & other games, plus the staff does some additional small scavenger hunts or sometimes they have planned activities. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The cabins are nice and clean, as are the public bathrooms if you are tent camping or have a smaller camper. They have one yurt, tent camping, camper camping, and a few cabins- and more to come. There is very few large trees though, so keep that in mind to bring shade. It is a small area, so not spread apart sites. Also the cabins switch between having a stand up grill or a low campfire, which we wanted the campfire experience, so need to keep that in mind when booking a cabin. Pet friendly! We brought our cat, she went kayaking for the first time, idk if she would review that as 5 stars, but she would say 5 stars for the cabin & outdoor deck which was he favorite feature.
