Our family loved it! The playground was great for the kids and the laundry room and bathrooms were perhaps the cleanest I've ever seen at a campground. We also appreciated how the grounds were beautiful and had trees. It was like a little oasis in the desert.

Nice raked gravel pull through large enough for our 35-ft fifth wheel and our dually parked next to it. Arrived after hours and all went well.

We had a great time and the park is lovely! One of the nicest Journey KOA's we've stayed at. We had a paw pen site and it was perfect, very clean. Everyone was friendly and very helpful with info in the area.

This is our quick getaway location for my wife and I. We love this place and the people that run it. None better.

I’ve stayed at this KOA several times and it never disappoints. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The improvements they have made shows dedication to the KOA spirit. This is by far one of the best campgrounds I’ve stayed at through the years and should definitely be considered worthy of 10 stars. 5/5/5. Congratulations on a great experience.

We only stayed overnight to check out the new (to us) Travel Trailer we just purchased. We loved our stay, even though it was short. Lots of room between spaces and the Patio Spot we had was awesome. Sitting out in the rockers watching the sun set. Totally relaxing. We were able to check out everything in a beautiful setting. Thank you.

I really liked the "Paw Pen" that was a private dog run for my site. This campground has easy on/off access to I 10. The downside to that is that you do hear freeway noise. The grounds were clean and level. My neighbor's picnic table was close to my motorhome and they sat out there and talked loudly until 8pm. This was within the rules, but I just felt they were a bit to close for comfort.

The grounds and sites were very clean and well maintained. The dog park was big and the dog walks were long a spacious. The park and walks had doggy poop bags conveniently located. The woman in the office was very friendly and helpful. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Picacho Peak State park was close and we enjoyed a hike with our dogs. Plenty of restaurants around the area (within 20 miles)

Felicia and her team were very friendly during our stay. The campground is well taken care of and has a multitude of amenities. We also loved the KampK9 for the dogs!

Friendly and great service, very clean well kept camp grounds.

The staff were extremely friendly, but I left with an overall bad taste. The “year-round” pool was unheated, and my kids weren’t about to swim in 60°F water. Speaking of the kids, they were $5/day extra each. Our 2-night stay was close to $200 for essentially a gravel site with hookups and 2 shower stalls (they were good showers, at least).

Kind staff, well spaced sites with picnic table and fire pit, clean bathrooms, fair amount of machines in the laundry

The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean. The only thing I didn't like was the pool wasn't heated. Apparently the heater was broken and a new one hadn't been installed yet. Everything else was great!!

Well maintained campground: easy check in, level spots, nice amenities and friendly staff. Been to many KOAs and these are the nicest bathrooms! Fluffy bath mats and waterfall showers. Lovely!

Hosts were great, numerous activities. Internet on north side intermittent and traffic noise. Clean facility.
Feb 18, 2025
The site is clean and easily accesible. Hosts are hospitable and helpful. Road and helicopter noise is horrible at night.

What a welcoming, helpful team that runs this top rate location; this team defines the term "customer service". I shopped at the park store, used the laundry facilities and spent some time in the guest club house. The pups loved the dog area, again, very well maintained.

The staff was friendly and returned phone calls quickly. The park grounds and all facilities were clean and well maintained. I thought it was a nice touch that the National Anthem was played every morning at 9:00. I would stay there again.

Wonderfully kept campground. Friendly, helpful staff.

Good place to stay to visit the local area like picacho state park or the casa grande ruins. The roads in the campground get pretty dusty so slow speed is a must. The size of the paw pens is a little small to be useful.

A very nice KOA located west of Tucson, Arizona and east of the I-10 and I-8 intersection near Casa Grande. Very close to Pacacho Peak mountain trails. Swimming pool is heated, very large room inside with seating, TV, games and book exchange. The host and owner was very friendly and accommodating. A very nice young man led us to our RV spot and made sure we had everything we needed. Level gravel sites and nice large lots. Very will priced! Also private RV spots with decks and fencing. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you for welcoming us.

After several days at Picacho Peak State Park without full hookups, arriving at Picacho / Tucson NW KOA Journey felt like the kind of reset you do not fully appreciate until you need it. We arrived a bit early while the office was closed for lunch, but the large parking area out front made it easy to pull in, park, and have lunch without any stress. Once they reopened, check-in was smooth, everyone was friendly, and being escorted to our site was a great first impression. Our site was a large pull-through with full hookups (everything worked flawlessly), and even though you do not choose your own site, we ended up in one we likely would have picked ourselves. Site 69 was under a huge willow tree with a wide view over nearby farmland, and watching cows and horses grazing gave the whole stay a calm, open feel right away. The willow tree also provided real shade, which made a noticeable difference during the day. The biggest shift for us was how easy everything felt. After being without water and sewer, having full hookups again made this stop feel less like a pass through and more like a place to actually settle in and recharge. The gravel roads and gravel sites were straightforward to navigate, and the park felt very big-rig friendly with plenty of room to maneuver. Sites are well spaced and easy to pull into, with a layout that feels open rather than tight. It was also noticeably quiet. Despite being close to I-10, it felt surprisingly peaceful, especially at night, and with very few people around us it was easy to relax after more active stops earlier in the trip. From a family perspective, this KOA works really well. There is a playground, a dog park, and a large jellybean-shaped pool that gave the kids space to play and unwind. The rules for children were clear and reasonable, like staying with an adult and no playing after sunset, which helped keep the environment safe without feeling restrictive. One of the most memorable details was their “follow the rules, get a cookie” system. On our way out, our boys ran into the office to let them know they had followed the rules and came back out with cookies in hand. It was such a simple idea, but it made the experience feel personal and stuck with them more than anything else. We also had a bundle of firewood delivered right to our site, which was convenient and added to the overall ease of the stay. Overall, this is a great example of a stop that does more than just meet basic needs. It is practical, quiet, and well run, but also has enough thoughtful touches to make it feel welcoming and memorable. It works well for both a quick overnight stop or a few days to reset. If you are traveling through this part of Arizona and want a place where you can recharge, enjoy the stop, and feel genuinely welcomed, this is absolutely worth it.
