Had a reservation but ended up not staying. They had propane tank issues so we could not get our tank filled, we reserved a "Paw pen" site. When we drove through to our site, the paw pen looked to be like a 4X12 which would have never worked for our dogs. Our Koa's have bigger...which we used!

Well, the power went out the first day (4-21-25) and it took a while for the trailer to cool off again. There was one light to the south of us that made it difficult to view the stars. It was very bright. Maybe more low-level lighting sprinkled around that can be run off solar, not such high intensity lighting. Trains going by regularly slightly annoying.

Nice quiet trip there is a little train traffic noise here, but I quite liked it

The park itself isn’t bad, far enough from the freeway. I tried going in the office multiple times to talk and found no one. We left for repairs for a few hours and they checked us out a day early without even a phone call. They groom the sites after a camper leaves, this makes the gravel hard to walk on and a huge dust cloud to cover the campers still there, rude. Packed gravel would be better

Clean, well maintained facilities and amazing hosts. This is my third year wintering in the southwest and I go out of my way to visit this KOA.

Good place to stay overnight right off the 10. Friendly and helpful staff. Well maintained. FYI there is train noise and freeway noise, which for us wasn’t a problem. We will definitely stay here again on our travels to Texas.

Amazing KOA, Manager gives you Star Service (drive us to our site), incredibly clean bathrooms and raked and shady sites. Cleanest and friendly! Store is well stocked and Lounge and Laundry are well appointed and welcoming. Great place and love the clean pool too!

The owner of the campground checked us in. He was very friendly and actually walked the sites with us and let us personally pick out where we wanted to stay. Clean!

The staff was very nice and very accommodating. The campground is very clean.

Everything was great. The only minor suggestion is that the hosts be a bit more receptive in conversations. One helping us with registration was in a rush and we were disappointed not to talk a bit more. Otherwise everything was great

Just a wonderful experience. Very clean, well maintained, and nice park. The interior roads are so wide and easy to navigate, even in a large class A with a tow vehicle. Highly recommend this park!

I found this place to be well maintained and very clean. The only drawback that I could say for me is that it is all gravel and hard for kids with bicycles. That didn't apply to me and I would return.

Very relaxing. Very clean and well kept grounds

Good place to stay to visit the local area like picacho state park or the casa grande ruins. The roads in the campground get pretty dusty so slow speed is a must. The size of the paw pens is a little small to be useful.

A very nice KOA located west of Tucson, Arizona and east of the I-10 and I-8 intersection near Casa Grande. Very close to Pacacho Peak mountain trails. Swimming pool is heated, very large room inside with seating, TV, games and book exchange. The host and owner was very friendly and accommodating. A very nice young man led us to our RV spot and made sure we had everything we needed. Level gravel sites and nice large lots. Very will priced! Also private RV spots with decks and fencing. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you for welcoming us.

After several days at Picacho Peak State Park without full hookups, arriving at Picacho / Tucson NW KOA Journey felt like the kind of reset you do not fully appreciate until you need it. We arrived a bit early while the office was closed for lunch, but the large parking area out front made it easy to pull in, park, and have lunch without any stress. Once they reopened, check-in was smooth, everyone was friendly, and being escorted to our site was a great first impression. Our site was a large pull-through with full hookups (everything worked flawlessly), and even though you do not choose your own site, we ended up in one we likely would have picked ourselves. Site 69 was under a huge willow tree with a wide view over nearby farmland, and watching cows and horses grazing gave the whole stay a calm, open feel right away. The willow tree also provided real shade, which made a noticeable difference during the day. The biggest shift for us was how easy everything felt. After being without water and sewer, having full hookups again made this stop feel less like a pass through and more like a place to actually settle in and recharge. The gravel roads and gravel sites were straightforward to navigate, and the park felt very big-rig friendly with plenty of room to maneuver. Sites are well spaced and easy to pull into, with a layout that feels open rather than tight. It was also noticeably quiet. Despite being close to I-10, it felt surprisingly peaceful, especially at night, and with very few people around us it was easy to relax after more active stops earlier in the trip. From a family perspective, this KOA works really well. There is a playground, a dog park, and a large jellybean-shaped pool that gave the kids space to play and unwind. The rules for children were clear and reasonable, like staying with an adult and no playing after sunset, which helped keep the environment safe without feeling restrictive. One of the most memorable details was their “follow the rules, get a cookie” system. On our way out, our boys ran into the office to let them know they had followed the rules and came back out with cookies in hand. It was such a simple idea, but it made the experience feel personal and stuck with them more than anything else. We also had a bundle of firewood delivered right to our site, which was convenient and added to the overall ease of the stay. Overall, this is a great example of a stop that does more than just meet basic needs. It is practical, quiet, and well run, but also has enough thoughtful touches to make it feel welcoming and memorable. It works well for both a quick overnight stop or a few days to reset. If you are traveling through this part of Arizona and want a place where you can recharge, enjoy the stop, and feel genuinely welcomed, this is absolutely worth it.
