Campground Reviews

Great park to stay in. Right Off the interstate so you can hear the busy traffic as well as several trains going by, but we would stay again.

Cleanest laundry facilities we've seen . Redoing their pool this week . We were glad they left it open for us before renovation. We spent 3 nights there . Great place and friendly staff. Quietly.

Peaceful park, despite being next to freeway. Bathrooms are spotless, with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Grounds are well kept, and staff and owner were very pleasant and helpful.

Nice size spaces, friendly staff. Could use a few more trashcans around for doggy poop bags, at least one at each bag dispenser.

This KOA was excellent. We’ve been to a lot of KOA’s all over the country and others in the Tuscon area, this one was one of the best. Great facilities, convenient location, friendly staff. Will be back!

We absolutely loved everything about this KOA. We were very impressed with the super clean amenities and the well kept grounds. Ryan and staff so welcoming and friendly the day we arrived, such a pleasant stay. From the well stocked store, and little clubhouse, to the pool, playground, dog park, games, there's something for everyone! Very dog friendly too. Great experience! Thank you Ryan!

Great place, so much pride here by the owners- not many others can compare. Clean restrooms/showers and well manicured sites. A lot of noise from the hwy but it’s a journey and expected! Staff are amazing- we would stay here again! Side-note: Our Starlink and their WiFi are very hit and miss with service so be prepared, but again not the KOAs fault… just location! Best KOA by far! Thank you!

We loved staying there. We were there 2 weeks. It was well taken care of and the people were awesome! Only downside, traffic noise.

The RV park is very well maintained. The spaces are large, easy to pull in and out, level. The roads wide. River rock throughout the campground easy to walk, drive on, keeps the dust down. Location is good. Close to Picacho Peak State Park. Makes a great stop over if traveling on I-10. Sites are big/long enough don't need to unhitch. Staff is very friendly!!!

We really like the park, but the train and highway noise is just a lot to deal with. The sewer dump is almost too far from the RV, we had to use 3 hoses to connect to it.

The KOA is great! Campsites well groomed, cleaning. Awesome dog park. Clean bathroom and showers! Nice staff and cool little store. Cons: traffic noise is crazy!! Pipes to dump tanks are too high; makes emptying laborious. Gravel is nnot desirable.

We have stayed at 15 KOA's in 2025/2026. We have also stayed at 6 private RV Parks. This has the very best owners of them all by far, so thoughtful and kind. The park itself was very clean and well organized. The sites spacious and quite. Great place to rest up or just an overnight stay

Beautiful, clean, and safe park! Great staff, excellent communication, amd customer service was top tier. Nestled perfectly in the middle of Phoenix and Tucson, day trips and relaxing is the name of the game. Sunsets, sunrises, hiking, atv trails, all nearby. Don't hesitate, book now! Thanks for a great stay!

Very organized and clean. Good access to the interstate. Stayed in the one cabin available-it was great to have linens and towels available. We would definitely return to the campground.

We enjoyed staying in your very spacious pull through site. Leaving the trees in between sites gave us lovely afternoon shade and the illusion of privacy. So much nicer than the parking lots we have found at many parks. Your large dog park was one of the best our large dog has enjoyed. Thank you for your attention to detail. We hope to return.

The WiFi is weak and slow (even for a KOA, based on my experiences) - everything else campsite related was great. But also, the office closes between Noon and 1 pm for lunch, and KOA offices already keep limited hours, and Amazon (and other services?) can't / won't deliver if the driver happens to arrive during that hour!
Feb 10, 2026
Very clean and well kept. We love the area. The down side was the trains and HWY 10. Very loud at night. Other then that, the staff is awesome and made sure we got the spot we wanted. We will stop back by on our way home.

Very friendly. Great camp sites. Plenty of ares to walk your dogs, and doggy bags for clean up.

Good place to stay to visit the local area like picacho state park or the casa grande ruins. The roads in the campground get pretty dusty so slow speed is a must. The size of the paw pens is a little small to be useful.

A very nice KOA located west of Tucson, Arizona and east of the I-10 and I-8 intersection near Casa Grande. Very close to Pacacho Peak mountain trails. Swimming pool is heated, very large room inside with seating, TV, games and book exchange. The host and owner was very friendly and accommodating. A very nice young man led us to our RV spot and made sure we had everything we needed. Level gravel sites and nice large lots. Very will priced! Also private RV spots with decks and fencing. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you for welcoming us.

After several days at Picacho Peak State Park without full hookups, arriving at Picacho / Tucson NW KOA Journey felt like the kind of reset you do not fully appreciate until you need it. We arrived a bit early while the office was closed for lunch, but the large parking area out front made it easy to pull in, park, and have lunch without any stress. Once they reopened, check-in was smooth, everyone was friendly, and being escorted to our site was a great first impression. Our site was a large pull-through with full hookups (everything worked flawlessly), and even though you do not choose your own site, we ended up in one we likely would have picked ourselves. Site 69 was under a huge willow tree with a wide view over nearby farmland, and watching cows and horses grazing gave the whole stay a calm, open feel right away. The willow tree also provided real shade, which made a noticeable difference during the day. The biggest shift for us was how easy everything felt. After being without water and sewer, having full hookups again made this stop feel less like a pass through and more like a place to actually settle in and recharge. The gravel roads and gravel sites were straightforward to navigate, and the park felt very big-rig friendly with plenty of room to maneuver. Sites are well spaced and easy to pull into, with a layout that feels open rather than tight. It was also noticeably quiet. Despite being close to I-10, it felt surprisingly peaceful, especially at night, and with very few people around us it was easy to relax after more active stops earlier in the trip. From a family perspective, this KOA works really well. There is a playground, a dog park, and a large jellybean-shaped pool that gave the kids space to play and unwind. The rules for children were clear and reasonable, like staying with an adult and no playing after sunset, which helped keep the environment safe without feeling restrictive. One of the most memorable details was their “follow the rules, get a cookie” system. On our way out, our boys ran into the office to let them know they had followed the rules and came back out with cookies in hand. It was such a simple idea, but it made the experience feel personal and stuck with them more than anything else. We also had a bundle of firewood delivered right to our site, which was convenient and added to the overall ease of the stay. Overall, this is a great example of a stop that does more than just meet basic needs. It is practical, quiet, and well run, but also has enough thoughtful touches to make it feel welcoming and memorable. It works well for both a quick overnight stop or a few days to reset. If you are traveling through this part of Arizona and want a place where you can recharge, enjoy the stop, and feel genuinely welcomed, this is absolutely worth it.
