Campground Reviews

What a beautiful KOA! The owner and employees were kind and helpful. Our long fifth wheel and towing vehicle fit easily (60 ft. total) and it was easy enough to navigate through the park. The pool area could use some TLC, but the landscaping, hummingbird feeders, and sites made up for it. There was a power outage while we were there, and the owner was quick to get everything up and running.

Everything was fine until the electricity when out on Friday night when it was 93. The power wasn’t restored until sometime into the night The facilities were nice and so were the people.

1st day their power was out for like 6 to 7 hours

We stop here several times a year. The new management is very kind and helpful. They are really working to update the camp sites with freshly painted power towers and chairs. My only recommendation would be that they try not to close from 12 to 1 daily as when we arrived at 12:30 there was a long line of other RV's out to the street waiting to check in. We all had to wait until they opened at 1pm.

Interstate noise and trains but loved the par it self!

The Owner was so accommodating and staff genuinely friendly.

No issues, staff was pleasant, met the owner who was super nice. Everyone at the camp (including other campers) were polite and we met some fun folks! This was our first KOA experience. The only downside is that the freeway noise could be heard, but I soon tuned it out. If we are in the area again, we'd choose this site for sure!

Very friendly and caring staff!

The campground is very clean and well maintained. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They have a nice playground and pool. Would definitely stay here again. Only negative is the noise from I10, but that's not an issue for me.

We have no issue, just would love to have a hiking area around without having to drive out. Kids had a great time.

Quiet setting. Well maintained campground. Friendly staff. Shade trees by many sites. A+

Great campground! Lots of fun for the family.

The host was the best !

The campground has spacious sites and is very well maintained. It was a great spot for us, as we wanted to visit both Tucson and Phoenix.

Spouse & I spent 3 nights at this lovely KOA with large trees and desert landscaping. Staff were courteous and helpful. Facilities were very clean. Laundry room w/ample washers and dryers (no change machine). Showers nice, but only 2. Extra touches like microfiber bath mat rather than prickly plastic. Short drive to amenities. Four stars due to hwy noise. Bring earplugs if U R a light sleeper.

Very well run campground and friendly staff. Clean bathrooms, nice store and gorgeous succulent landscaping. It’s a nice size too…small and rustic, in a good way. The interstate is a bit too close (noise-wise) but other than that, we highly recommend this KOA.

This was our second time there and we will be back. Staff is very friendly and the location is quiet and peaceful. All sites looked to be filled this time vs last October. Campground was clean and had some more upgrades since the last time we stayed. Kids enjoyed the pool. My only improvement suggestion would be to extend the pool hours until 9 or 10pm vs 7pm and maybe add a spa. Great Stay!

Just passing through. Very nice place and check in hosts were very friendly.

A little noisy being so close to the highway (trains and trucks ALL NIGHT), but the campground itself is very clean and appealing. Will stay again at another KOA, for sure.

Picacho KOA was conveniently located between Tucson and Phoenix and became a “home base” for us during our travels up and down the state of Arizona. The people that run the KOA were friendly and always seemed genuinely happy to see us again. I could see us staying for a month or longer in the future. I would definitely tell my friends to stay at the Picacho KOA!

Nice park, owner very involved and it shows. Didn't use any of the facilities, so I cannot speak to that. My only ding is internet connectivity. It is 2022, and connectivity is ubiquitous and necessary in customer's daily lives. The connectivity here was throttled almost immediately (no, I do not stream), which could have been their pipe or their router. Nonetheless, a disappointment.

Well maintained, managed park. We will be back next year.

Great staff, nice level sites and clean bath house. Cute little recycled license plate birdhouses for sale in the office, had to have one.

We were told to take our flag down. I’m sorry, this is America and having to take the flag down is what is wrong with our country now.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

To be clear, 'the' flag in question here was not the American flag, which he continued to fly. This other flag was political, and any flag or other thing that bothers or offends multiple guests we must as a business address. - Ramseys, owners

Just a concrete pad for an upgrade to the premium camp site, Very disappointing

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

When this site was booked, we clearly explained to the guest that we had just finished laying a patio for the site, that it had no furniture, and that it cost less because of all that -- which they were fine with! - Ramseys, owners

Excellent campground enjoyed our 4-night stay very much. Great option if PPSP is full.

Amazing place, loved it and the place is kept so nice and cleaned up, it's peaceful and quiet. I stayed in the cutest little cabin and it was perfect sized me. Break from the TV, my Bible and my bed and it was just right.

LOVED IT HERE! Minor things: 1) the hours for the laundry & clubhouse could be extended a bit to 9pm. 2) Please do what you can to bring back your hummingbirds-we love to watch them. 3) The gravel was a real problem for me, because back in #75 it is very patchy & was hard for me to navigate, especially with my injured foot. Maybe filling in with more gravel & packing it down is the answer.

Great facilities, but units are a little to close together.

The sites are pretty close together. Nice dog area and friendly staff.

Very nice campground. Friendly staff escorted us to our site. Spacious sites are crushed stone with picnic table. Some sites have concrete patios and even individual dog pens. We had no trouble getting level. All utilities worked as expected. Good WiFi signal. Good T-mobile signal. Wide roads are crushed stone and easy to navigate in any size rig. The park is nicely landscaped with trees, shrubs and cactus. Everything is very well maintained. Good signage from the highway. We were only here for one night, but would have been happy to stay longer.

This park was excellent! It was well maintained and the owners were upgrading sites the entire time we were there! Lots of new patio pads being poured. The park was fairly quiet with only occasional noise from the interstate. There was a small store with a few necessities. We had a pull through site with 50 amp service and lots of room! Nice big sites with gravel and easy to navigate! There were even fruit trees in the park. Friendly staff and strict rules in park, such as no open alcohol. Also pass must be displayed to enter and exit park and if not in sight, you will be stopped. Internet service was good, as was our Verizon service. I had no problems hot spotting when needed. Not much around this park but still a great place to stay!

Nice campground, clean and well kept. Easy check in friendly staff! We chose this campground because it was located halfway between Phoenix and Tucson and we were spending time in both places. And Picacho State Park is right down the road…great hiking we really enjoyed it. Only downside is traffic and train noise.
