This KOA park was very well maintained and the customer service from the park owner was excellent. We enjoyed our check in and stay experience while we were traveling. This was a very convenient overnight location that made for a nice overnight stay after a long day traveling in the RV.

Pool was cold when it's advertised as an 85 degree heated pool open year round. My children went in it for as long as they could tolerate and it turned my two blonde daughters hair green for weeks. Directly after the pool my children were crying that their legs were stinging and I had to scrub and clean them from all the chemicals. We will never go here again and have told others in our travels.

Our site and the campground were well maintained and clean. Overnight stay while passing through, but would stay here again in the future.

Staff were friendly and helpful - the facilities were clean and well maintained as were the sites - we were a little concerned about freeway noise when we first got to our site but despite the KOA's proximity to I10 we didn't have any noise issues sleeping at night.

Clean, level site. Super nice hosts.

The park was clean and the staff was friendly. My only complaint is with the dog playground. My dogs loved it. It was big and we had fun trying the agility toys but they were filthy after. It’s a dust bowl. Maybe add some pea gravel so the dogs don’t need a bath after play.

Nice place. All staff were extremely nice. Always appreciate an escort to the site. Long FHU pull thru for my 45ft motorhome and Jeep. Did not have to unhook.

Has everything we needed. Full hookups, patio, paw pen plus small dog park for off leash. Typical desert, mostly dirt. Hosts do nice job keeping sites maintained and are friendly. Not really a destination type location (can hear interstate & train nearby) but easy access and great stopping point on your journey, or short getaway. Horses next door, which you can smell if near, but add interest.

Caring and concerned staff. It made the stay all the more personable.

Clean and just off the interstate. Jay did an awesome job greeting us and escorting us to our spot.

The view of Newman mountain was stellar especially framed by all the large shady eucalyptus, palms, and cacti around the campground. Easy to pull our 36’ bumper pull rig into and out of and plenty of room to park our truck and car. The staff and owner were absolutely wonderful and friendly and made us feel super welcome and at home for the 2 weeks we stayed, we definitely plan to be back.

Traffic from I10 is super loud, especially the closer you are to the front. Our campsite had a RV sewage dump right next to it. A large RV came to use it while we were playing a card game outside and we all had to go back into our RV to escape the horrendous smell. If you are going to have a RV dump inside the campground don’t put a campsite right next to it. The employees were great though.

Such nice people that truly care. The place has come so far and it’s fun to see the changed.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a young man driving around. He stop by my site and took our bag of trash that we had sitting outside as we were going to take on our next walk. Very nice young man.

The only thing that was a downer was that WiFi is advertised but was so weak it was unusable. If you are going to advertise, have a usable system. Other than that it was nice.

The host is very sweet and accommodating. You could tell the team really wanted the campground to look and function as best as possible. We only stayed one night but really enjoyed our stay with our kids and grandkids. The sunset was incredible… Thanks again and will be back.

One of the advantages about this KOA is that they have sites with fenced in dog spaces. Also, clean well run and great staff. Only hard part was the long freight trains that went by for several hours after 10.pm

Wonderful staff and clean, well cared for facilities.

Pleasant staff and clean grounds. Highway noise present. However, that was the only negative.

Very nice, well-kept park. Owners are very gracious and accommodated our small veterans' group. They have a very nice playground for the kids and a nice dog park for the dogs. The only drawback, which they can't do anything about, is that the freeway and train noise can be a little overwhelming.

Nice clean and spacious. However, If I recommend people to stay there they need ear plugs to sleep because of the train and truck noise at night.

We needed a night to do a Shake Down Stay with our new to us Tiffin RV. This KOA park is so beautiful with lots of space between RV's and privacy fences are a really nice touch. We have recommended this KOA to our friends who are coming through or staying for the Winter months. It's awesome!!

The grounds were well maintained and very pretty with trees including palm trees and different varieties of cactus. The bathrooms were clean with modern showers. We would definitely stay there again the next time we travel through the area.

This is our quick weekend getaway location. We like this campground and the people that run it. Always well maintained and the friendliest staff you'll find anywhere. Fairly close to attractions in and around Tucson, without the hustle and bustle of being too close to the city. Highly recommend!

Good place to stay to visit the local area like picacho state park or the casa grande ruins. The roads in the campground get pretty dusty so slow speed is a must. The size of the paw pens is a little small to be useful.

A very nice KOA located west of Tucson, Arizona and east of the I-10 and I-8 intersection near Casa Grande. Very close to Pacacho Peak mountain trails. Swimming pool is heated, very large room inside with seating, TV, games and book exchange. The host and owner was very friendly and accommodating. A very nice young man led us to our RV spot and made sure we had everything we needed. Level gravel sites and nice large lots. Very will priced! Also private RV spots with decks and fencing. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you for welcoming us.

After several days at Picacho Peak State Park without full hookups, arriving at Picacho / Tucson NW KOA Journey felt like the kind of reset you do not fully appreciate until you need it. We arrived a bit early while the office was closed for lunch, but the large parking area out front made it easy to pull in, park, and have lunch without any stress. Once they reopened, check-in was smooth, everyone was friendly, and being escorted to our site was a great first impression. Our site was a large pull-through with full hookups (everything worked flawlessly), and even though you do not choose your own site, we ended up in one we likely would have picked ourselves. Site 69 was under a huge willow tree with a wide view over nearby farmland, and watching cows and horses grazing gave the whole stay a calm, open feel right away. The willow tree also provided real shade, which made a noticeable difference during the day. The biggest shift for us was how easy everything felt. After being without water and sewer, having full hookups again made this stop feel less like a pass through and more like a place to actually settle in and recharge. The gravel roads and gravel sites were straightforward to navigate, and the park felt very big-rig friendly with plenty of room to maneuver. Sites are well spaced and easy to pull into, with a layout that feels open rather than tight. It was also noticeably quiet. Despite being close to I-10, it felt surprisingly peaceful, especially at night, and with very few people around us it was easy to relax after more active stops earlier in the trip. From a family perspective, this KOA works really well. There is a playground, a dog park, and a large jellybean-shaped pool that gave the kids space to play and unwind. The rules for children were clear and reasonable, like staying with an adult and no playing after sunset, which helped keep the environment safe without feeling restrictive. One of the most memorable details was their “follow the rules, get a cookie” system. On our way out, our boys ran into the office to let them know they had followed the rules and came back out with cookies in hand. It was such a simple idea, but it made the experience feel personal and stuck with them more than anything else. We also had a bundle of firewood delivered right to our site, which was convenient and added to the overall ease of the stay. Overall, this is a great example of a stop that does more than just meet basic needs. It is practical, quiet, and well run, but also has enough thoughtful touches to make it feel welcoming and memorable. It works well for both a quick overnight stop or a few days to reset. If you are traveling through this part of Arizona and want a place where you can recharge, enjoy the stop, and feel genuinely welcomed, this is absolutely worth it.
