We stayed for the monster mash weekend and had an awesome time. This was definitely the busiest we have ever seen this campground and the staff did an amazing job. You can tell they really care about their customers and campground. We are excited to come back next year to see all the upgrades and activities scheduled.

Beautiful well maintained campgrou ds. We had a waterfront lots that was gorgeous view However, the sandspurs were horrible for our dogs. The water pressure was not good at all. Called the office and they told us it would equalize over time. These two reasons were why we decided not to get a seasonal lot there.

i was very disappointed in our stay this halloween season. it is usually a great time for everyone. there was hardly any planning for special events. nothing on friday, no dj some radio playing a potluck from who knows who made it.. no golf cart parade.. the spooky haunted walk, most could not go on because we were told to take hay ride in years past we could walk, no change was posted.

I like the campground is off the beaten path and love coming here. Staff is always friendly and so is the other patrons. Can't wait for next season and all the new amenities.

Water pressure very low. Road leading to campground was long and too narrow for big rig motorhome.

The sites location just feet from the water was beautiful. For a weekend slated for a variety of activities they were very understaffed. ie: one person working the store and cafe with a line to check out approx 8 people and 3 waiting at the Cafe. Staff was rude at the check-in facility when asked about events for the weekend "read that paper on the table" in a very hateful tone. Can't fit anymor

Loved our first Halloween visit. Hay ride was great fun. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly. No complaints.

Staying on Currituck sound was a peaceful delight! We definitely need to do this again in season. However, the cooler temperatures and sunny days of October at this KOA were a relaxing retreat!

Great staff, so very helpful and customer service oriented. Had the Deluxe waterfront site which was awesome! Fire pit, patio, table chairs and a 2 seat glider. all on our site. We made reservations for next year before we left.

Excellent campground with very accommodating staff. This was our 5th stay here, as we do enjoy the place. This last visit was the worst for the “mayflies” or whatever they are called, but I’m not sure there’s not much that can be done about them. We were in spot 10 on the water and I recommend removing the dead tree at the back of the deck so it doesn’t fall and damage any camper or hurt

Staff is super friendly and helpful. Only complaint we'd have is something the staff can't control and that is the sand spurs. The sand spurs are awful and kept getting stuck in our dogs paws and fur. We finally found a grassy area near playground and shop that didn't seem to have them. Don't recommend walking your fur babies down near the boardwalk or any of the water front/view spots.

Been coming here for at least four years now and have never seen the grass o out of hand. I'm not sure why the grass wasn't cut like every other time I've been there? I actually went home and grabbed my weed eater to do my own yard work.

The positive: the view is beautiful. The negatives: Site water pressure was extremely low. To wash my hands, there was barely a steam. To brush my teeth, I actually got a cup of water from the water we brought with us. The grass was overgrown. Not extreme, just not maintained. Burs from the grass were everywhere so we spent most of the weekend pulling the burs from our dog's hair and paws.

We enjoyed our stay - very relaxing - the staff was able to assist us with a couple of small issue (we are new campers) and got us taken care of very quickly! We had fun with the kids trick or treating. We have already booked for next October that is how much we loved it!

The location is so beautiful! We actually booked a return stay in a few weeks before we left so we can introduce this campground to my parents! Only negative was the bugs (flies in particular), but that’s manageable if you’re prepared. Not surprising given a waterfront location and worth it for the spectacular views.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. Our site was really nice and the water views are gorgeous. The activities for kids were fun and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only request/comment would be that more than one bathhouse would be helpful. Where we were located was pretty far from the bathhouse.

We love OBX West/Currituck Sound KOA and camp here multiple times a year. This last stay we were a little disappointed. The grass wasn't cut around our site and was extremely high around the fire pit, deck, and grill. There was also dog poop not picked at our site. The kids were disappointed that there were no activities at the activity center for them.

Our 2nd visit was great. Great locations with water front and water view lots. A very relaxing spot to camp. Probably swamped in the Summer but the Fall is perfect.

The campground was spacious and amenities were sufficient. The pool coming in 2025 will be wonderful. The staff was great. The bay was absolutely gorgeous & we enjoyed all the benches to sit and relax there. The miles of narrow road to the campground was difficult each car we encountered. And the year round bugs there drove us crazy!

Our stay was 10-7-24 and 10-8-24. BE WARNED THAT THE BUGS(MIDGES) ARE AWFUL AND THEY DO BITE. LIGHTS OR NO LIGHTS THEY ARE SWARMING AROUND YOU ALL THE TIME!!! CANNOT ENJOY SITTING AROUND THE FIRE. THEY ARE THERE DAY AND NIGHT. I talked with a camping neighbor which stays there all the time and he stated that they should be gone by this time of year. He also stated that summer and spring are worse.

Had a great time. Beautiful property and well equipped. Front desk folks (Larry primarily) were super helpful in person and on the phone. Staff in golf carts screaming down the dirt path way over the 10 mph speed limit, coating everything (skin, hair, food, drinks, furniture, etc.) with dust repeatedly all day and water in showers fluctuating from scalding to cold (dangerous!) cost one star.

Beautiful Views, Nice sites. Good Laundry room, Friendly staff. Only thing I would have changed was telling us the store would be closed within minutes of our arrival and all of the following day. I do understand off-season closures, would have been nice to know.

This park is large, visually clean, and well-maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and they do their best to assist guests. The park is almost there, but there is only one dumpster location, so you'll likely want to rent a golf cart if you're staying farther away. The biggest reason we're taking stars off is the overwhelming fly problem. There were thousands—possibly tens of thousands—of house flies during our stay, and they affected every part of our family's experience. Simply opening my truck windows while connecting our truck and trailer resulted in hundreds of flies getting inside. There is nothing dead or rotting in my vehicle; the flies are coming from the surrounding area. The flies constantly bother people and pets and make it difficult to enjoy being outdoors or do so much as leave your car window open for more than a minute. There is no leaving your camper door open either, even with a screen. Even after leaving the park, I still have hundreds of flies in my truck. Unfortunately, this issue significantly impacted an otherwise pleasant stay.

Just finished up a weekend with my 5yr grandson. We brought him here last year also. This is his special trip of the year. Never disappointed. I cannot say enough about the staff and quality of entertainment. Dinosaur weekend was amazing. From Jurassic Park trilogy movies playing in the garage, to Lizard King bringing his reptiles, then to making amazing KOA Tye Dye shirts that we were able to decorate and bring home. Craft tables, games.... Mary is one of the staff members here that stood out to us. She has been the face of entertainment and crafts for us for our past few visits. So sweet and nice and definitely helpful in the arts & crafts, and always available to help out. I wish I knew everyone's names here bc each of them played such a huge part in us having so much fun this weekend. From the store front, pool, garage, sites,grounds, activities. Everyone in the staff was just amazing. The facilities were impeccable. We really love coming here. Campsites level,clean. Views are amazing. This year they had the water taxi and kayaks available. We didnt use them, however we did see them being used. So much for a lil'one to do here. To also make it more special, due to the wind we couldnt use our fire pit due to us being waterside, however the play area has them (less windy inland) and of course this wonderful place had their firepits roaring and provided amazing music by Heather, and smores by the main firepits that was provided for everyone. Just can not say enough how much this place makes each trip so special. Thank you so much and see you again next visit.

Great place, super friendly staff, nice amenities, fun activities. It is a little pricey but expected of a place with such beautiful views. Our only complaint is the pool hours. It is open from 10am until 6pm, the earliest of any campground we have stayed at. Hopefully, the will extend the hours until 8 or 9pm in the future. Other than the pool hours, our stay was great and relaxing.
