Broken cable TV connector, the spaces are super close together. What would normally be pull-thru spaces were set up for back to back units. Not much to do other than walking but no trails nearby. Recommend you go off-season or mid-week when not so busy. Staff was friendly and campground was clean and maintained.

Love this place, hopefully next year I will give it a 10 when the pool is completed. They have a water taxi taking you to Corolla as well as a bus shuttle. Located in the sound side you can swim, fish or launch a boat. Road coming in is a very narrow road, bigger rigs take your time and go slow, it’s worth the stay if you like off the beaten path. We do!!!!

Our stay at the Outer Banks West KOA was wonderful! This campground was so relaxing. Being in the sound provided beautiful water sunsets without the tourist beach craze. The staff at this KOA are friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and we will definitely come back.

I was charged 10 dollars a day for the amenities. Still trying to figure out what they were no pool, no water taxi running, no putt putt and no hot tub.

The amenity fee covers free water sports rentals, fishing pole rentals, onsite cafe, live entertainment, activities Thurs-Sunday, and the water taxi. This is already calculated in your total when booking a stay.

Almost everything was great! Friendly staff and beautiful views. Only complaint is, there was no hot water in the bathroom. Ill still come back!

This campground is clean, well organized, and provides absolutely breathtaking views. Our kids aged 10, 8, and 3 loved the programmed events. We will be back.

This was our first stay at Outer Banks West and we really enjoyed our stay! There were lots of activities to keep the whole family entertained, the staff were very friendly, and the bathhouses were clean and spacious. I am disappointed that the shuttle/ferry from the KOA was not operating during our stay which was a big reason we booked this location. I wish we were told ahead of time.

We had a problem with our water drain being busted on our camper. We all had to use the bathhouse (which was not a problem..we have done it before). Starting on Saturday evening, the bathhouse connected to the arcade had ZERO hot water. The next morning (730am) on Sunday, the water was still ICE cold no matter how long you ran it. I had to use the other bathhouse. Just making sure you know.

We love the campground, and the staff are always supportive and helpful. We even had a staff member who was off duty assist us in parking our rig after hours. We do have a concern though; the playground is designed primarily for older children and the littles tend to get run over. If there was an area that had a smaller bounce pad and jungle gym design for 4 and under, ensures their safety and fun

We were met by friendly and cheerful employees and guided to our camping spot quickly. The campground was very clean, bathhouses were clean and well accomodating. No matter where you were staying in the campground it was an easy walk to the docks for fishing, swimming or kayaking. Sunsets were beautiful. Spaceous dog park and playground for the kids. We will be back.

Views of the sound was 5 star. Had a WF deluxe, they are tight and didn’t feel safe using the fire pit, even though we purchased wood, pit very close to RV’s. Grill was very close to neighbors RV and grill wasn’t close to the deck. No trash pickup, and only one area for dumpster at front of campground. I would not spend extra on deluxe site. Staff very friendly, didn’t use any amenities.

I loved staying at this KOA. The view of the water was gorgeous. The people were fabulous. It was quiet. We went to the Outer Banks communities for the day and then came back to a very peaceful location. I recommend it for anyone.

We chose this campground as a base to visit the Wright Brothers’ Memorial and Duck. Both were a bit of a drive, but our view in the campground was unbeatable.

The campground site is beautiful – surrounded by water. The staff were attentive and personable, and we enjoyed interacting with them in the office, store and on the grounds. A special shout out to Noka. The negative for us was that the sites are very close together. We prefer a little more space.

I always stay at KOA's when I I travel. The problem I am seeing is that the KOA is turning into a trailer park. Don't forget this is CAMPING. There is little thought given to the tent campers. No privacy. Wedged in with long term residents. Tent Camping is really car camping. No pull ins for car at tent site. Had to pay more for a different site.

This park is large, visually clean, and well-maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and they do their best to assist guests. The park is almost there, but there is only one dumpster location, so you'll likely want to rent a golf cart if you're staying farther away. The biggest reason we're taking stars off is the overwhelming fly problem. There were thousands—possibly tens of thousands—of house flies during our stay, and they affected every part of our family's experience. Simply opening my truck windows while connecting our truck and trailer resulted in hundreds of flies getting inside. There is nothing dead or rotting in my vehicle; the flies are coming from the surrounding area. The flies constantly bother people and pets and make it difficult to enjoy being outdoors or do so much as leave your car window open for more than a minute. There is no leaving your camper door open either, even with a screen. Even after leaving the park, I still have hundreds of flies in my truck. Unfortunately, this issue significantly impacted an otherwise pleasant stay.

Just finished up a weekend with my 5yr grandson. We brought him here last year also. This is his special trip of the year. Never disappointed. I cannot say enough about the staff and quality of entertainment. Dinosaur weekend was amazing. From Jurassic Park trilogy movies playing in the garage, to Lizard King bringing his reptiles, then to making amazing KOA Tye Dye shirts that we were able to decorate and bring home. Craft tables, games.... Mary is one of the staff members here that stood out to us. She has been the face of entertainment and crafts for us for our past few visits. So sweet and nice and definitely helpful in the arts & crafts, and always available to help out. I wish I knew everyone's names here bc each of them played such a huge part in us having so much fun this weekend. From the store front, pool, garage, sites,grounds, activities. Everyone in the staff was just amazing. The facilities were impeccable. We really love coming here. Campsites level,clean. Views are amazing. This year they had the water taxi and kayaks available. We didnt use them, however we did see them being used. So much for a lil'one to do here. To also make it more special, due to the wind we couldnt use our fire pit due to us being waterside, however the play area has them (less windy inland) and of course this wonderful place had their firepits roaring and provided amazing music by Heather, and smores by the main firepits that was provided for everyone. Just can not say enough how much this place makes each trip so special. Thank you so much and see you again next visit.

Great place, super friendly staff, nice amenities, fun activities. It is a little pricey but expected of a place with such beautiful views. Our only complaint is the pool hours. It is open from 10am until 6pm, the earliest of any campground we have stayed at. Hopefully, the will extend the hours until 8 or 9pm in the future. Other than the pool hours, our stay was great and relaxing.
