we rented a camper. beds were hard as rocks. no heat. the steps were dangerous, we feared falling. sand spurs were terrible. other campers were riding around on golf carts all hours of the night.

Great long weekend! The staff really goes all out to ensure guests have a wonderful trip. The haunted hayride was a huge hit!! Can’t wait to come back next year for the pool opening. Keep doing what yall are doing!

Campground is will maintain bathhouses super clean. The staff are all professional and super nice. My family loves this place and will continue to comeback.

We rented a waterview pet friendly cabin. The cabin is absolutely perfect - modern, spacious & very comfortable. Housekeeping does an amazing job of cleaning! We were very happy with our stay. My only complaint is about the additional pet fee of $50 per pet per stay. If I am already paying a premium rate for "pet friendly" lodging, I find it difficult to accept the extra pet fee.

We checked in and went to the Cabin, the accommodations were great, we found everything clean and ready for us, the staff was very friendly. My wife and I loved the tiny house and will probably visit again.

The Deluxe cabin was very nice. The views were beautiful. The only complaint is that the sleep sofa was not comfortable at all. It reminded me of the old time metal springs that had no padding on top. My son ended up sleeping on the sofa not pulled out. His wife had to sleep on bunk bed.

Staff was wonderful; especially Joshua; all the staff members were very friendly & helpful. The reason for the four star rating, not a five was because there wasn't a grab bar to get in & out of the shower. I'm short & I had a hard time getting in & especially out with how high the tub was. The cabin was clean, in good repair, & nicely decorated. Beds were comfortable.

The Campground was beautiful and the camp store was awesome! The RV I rented didn't have hot water and a lot of the receptacles were not working. Also had a lot of spiders inside as well as frogs. I would come again, but I would hope these issues would be resolved.

I was afraid that KOA would ruin the old Hampton Lodge Campground I grew up with but I found it to be just as great as I remembered it with lots of upgrades as well.

While we had an amazing time…I paid 4 a waterfront view n the RV rental. When we arrived, the water view was completely covered by vegetation. That was the only thing I had an issue with. the AC did not work 2 capacity, when I asked about this @ the front desk, the staff bent over backwards 2 move us 2 a delux cabin. When my boys locked themselves inside the RV with the key, staff was fast 2 hel

We stayed in one of the rental RV's (A03) and it was a lovely time! The RV had definitely seen some wear and tear, but it was clean and comfortable. We love the staff here and look forward to staying there again!

Minus the spiders, bugs, mosquitoes,and linens and coffee not provided the stay was relaxing. Slight musky smell in the cabin and floors a little uneven. The fishing could of been better but the stay all around turned out better than I thought it would.

We had a wonderful time. The people were so friendly and went above and beyond for the kids especially the lady doing the crafts. She saved a clam for my granddaughter because we were going on the boat that morning and wasn’t going to be able to do the craft. It’s my favorite campground by far.

The staff is fantastic. We always enjoy seeing what each KOA has to offer. The plastic covered mattress and pillows could be improved. The mattress had definitely seen its better day.

Great place to stay. There was no pool or stocked fishing ponds for the kiddos. 20-30 mins to the nearest Family Dollar/ Food Lion, so stock up before you get here. Handicap accessible cabins are a plus!!! My kids and parents really enjoyed the boat trip over to Corolla to see the wild horses; my kids and I walked the 5+min walk up and over the dune to the beach. The beach was perfect.

We stayed in a rented RV. I loved that this was an option! The camper was a little beat up but i guess that is to be expected. Beautiful area! WiFi def sucked but then again i know it’s not what we were there for. Nice amenities- def farther from a beach than expected . The sound was nice to swim and fish in and the sunsets were spectacular!

I loved it! I will be back. I have a suggestion, put sink strainers in the RV sinks. You don't know what people are pouring into the gray tanks. I have them in my RV and in my kitchen sinks at home. The staff was very nice and friendly. Looking forward to the pool being ready next year!

My stay would have been much better if the wind had not been blowing 18 mph, but no one can predict how the weather will be at the time you book your stay in advance. The campground was nice and the people seemed to enjoyed themselves despite the wind. I will be staying again and recommending the OBX West to my friends.

The site was beautiful, the boat ride to the wild Mustangs was great, the lunch from the boat ride was great. The customer service was wonderful and Carmen was one of nicest person we have ever met. The pool is needed, but once it’s complete, you will have it all

had a 5day trip booked ended up leaving a day early, as for amenities you can only get fishing poles(which didn't cast horribly maintained),kayaks, paddle boards,cornhole bags etc..from 10-6pm who wants to play cornhole in the heat of the day should be available in the evenings/early mornings. Swimming wasn't ideal had to climb down a ladder off a pier. Mosquitoes are terrible �� No stores close

The camp grounds were very nice and the staff was pleasant. Our cabin was dirty. The stove was covered in hair and food. There was a dead frog in a ball of dust that was behind the bathroom door. Dead bugs smashed all over the walls and ceilings. I get the bugs…. But I was confused about the warning of being upcharged for smashing bugs and then still seeing the bugs from the previous guests.

This park is large, visually clean, and well-maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and they do their best to assist guests. The park is almost there, but there is only one dumpster location, so you'll likely want to rent a golf cart if you're staying farther away. The biggest reason we're taking stars off is the overwhelming fly problem. There were thousands—possibly tens of thousands—of house flies during our stay, and they affected every part of our family's experience. Simply opening my truck windows while connecting our truck and trailer resulted in hundreds of flies getting inside. There is nothing dead or rotting in my vehicle; the flies are coming from the surrounding area. The flies constantly bother people and pets and make it difficult to enjoy being outdoors or do so much as leave your car window open for more than a minute. There is no leaving your camper door open either, even with a screen. Even after leaving the park, I still have hundreds of flies in my truck. Unfortunately, this issue significantly impacted an otherwise pleasant stay.

Just finished up a weekend with my 5yr grandson. We brought him here last year also. This is his special trip of the year. Never disappointed. I cannot say enough about the staff and quality of entertainment. Dinosaur weekend was amazing. From Jurassic Park trilogy movies playing in the garage, to Lizard King bringing his reptiles, then to making amazing KOA Tye Dye shirts that we were able to decorate and bring home. Craft tables, games.... Mary is one of the staff members here that stood out to us. She has been the face of entertainment and crafts for us for our past few visits. So sweet and nice and definitely helpful in the arts & crafts, and always available to help out. I wish I knew everyone's names here bc each of them played such a huge part in us having so much fun this weekend. From the store front, pool, garage, sites,grounds, activities. Everyone in the staff was just amazing. The facilities were impeccable. We really love coming here. Campsites level,clean. Views are amazing. This year they had the water taxi and kayaks available. We didnt use them, however we did see them being used. So much for a lil'one to do here. To also make it more special, due to the wind we couldnt use our fire pit due to us being waterside, however the play area has them (less windy inland) and of course this wonderful place had their firepits roaring and provided amazing music by Heather, and smores by the main firepits that was provided for everyone. Just can not say enough how much this place makes each trip so special. Thank you so much and see you again next visit.

Great place, super friendly staff, nice amenities, fun activities. It is a little pricey but expected of a place with such beautiful views. Our only complaint is the pool hours. It is open from 10am until 6pm, the earliest of any campground we have stayed at. Hopefully, the will extend the hours until 8 or 9pm in the future. Other than the pool hours, our stay was great and relaxing.
