Our stay was good. Staff was helpful and nice. Amenities were good as were activities. If the wind and Midges had gone away the stay would have been perfect.

Off season, nice quiet location, rebooked 2026. One minor issue, the migett bugs were terrible.

Staff at the Outer Banks were great ! Especially Dave, who made sure I was taken care of because I’m disabled. He made sure I could get on the water taxi pick me up at my campsite brought me down made sure I got on the boat and off the boat the captain of the water taxi that day Was very informative and gave us a great tour .

We enjoyed all the campground had to offer! Even at the end of September they had many special activities you could take part in. I only gave 4 stars because the website says the pool was coming in Sept of 2025 and the pool is nowhere near ready to open, and the website also says that the shuttles to town ran through the end of September, but they had ended the weekend before we arrived.

Great off season stay ,very few campers in the waterfront campsites ,just what I was looking for Campsites are very close to each other ,so I will only go mid week ,off season

I would like to inform you of my recent stay 9/26 through 9/28 originally I was in F03 on Saturday. I had to move to F01 due to several large colony of fire ants that I received bites from and the children with me receive bites from. Ants 9/28 while we were unhooking the motorhome from the utilities, my three-year-old started jumping up and down and he had ants all over him that came from grass

The campground is great, well-maintained, and the staff is very friendly. The lady in the camp store was very friendly, welcoming, and made a great pizza on a rainy night. The only negative is the bugs; they need to fog or something.

Hordes of midges, mosquitoes, and black flies prevented any outside activity. The copperhead and cottonmouth snakes we saw were a concern. The trashy appearance of the long-term RVs in the center of the campground, coupled with a fight involving a knife, required the sheriff's department. After two days, we decided to leave on a seven-day reservation, losing significant funds. Not a happy camper.

While the waterfront sites are nice, the swarms of midges kept us from enjoying our stay, and we left early. There was also an altercation between seasonal guests that resulted in the Sheriff being called out for someone pulling a knife. To say the least, we won't be back to this KOA.

Staff was wonderful; especially Joshua; all the staff members were very friendly & helpful. The reason for the four star rating, not a five was because there wasn't a grab bar to get in & out of the shower. I'm short & I had a hard time getting in & especially out with how high the tub was. The cabin was clean, in good repair, & nicely decorated. Beds were comfortable.

The Marsh Flies were terrible, like really bad billions, and billions. I'm not sure if it's better to get a lot further away from water and the bugs will not be as bad. Please let me know. The overall KOA Camp Site was pretty good. The Office nice, the Camp Store very nice, and the rented recreation was nice. The canoes where you get inside are infested with spiders and needs cleaning.

The Campground was beautiful and the camp store was awesome! The RV I rented didn't have hot water and a lot of the receptacles were not working. Also had a lot of spiders inside as well as frogs. I would come again, but I would hope these issues would be resolved.

I was afraid that KOA would ruin the old Hampton Lodge Campground I grew up with but I found it to be just as great as I remembered it with lots of upgrades as well.

I contacted the campground 15 minutes after closing for a late arrival while on the road. The person was clearly anoided during the discussion. I asked for a verbal confirmation of the address, was told I'd get an e-mail and she hung up the phone. At some point I got voice mail from a guy with after hours check in instructions.

While we had an amazing time…I paid 4 a waterfront view n the RV rental. When we arrived, the water view was completely covered by vegetation. That was the only thing I had an issue with. the AC did not work 2 capacity, when I asked about this @ the front desk, the staff bent over backwards 2 move us 2 a delux cabin. When my boys locked themselves inside the RV with the key, staff was fast 2 hel

location is dicey to get to on the narrow roads as you have to pull over into the grass to pass another large size vehicle. Seems a weird place for a campground. The Sound sites are very pretty and the bathhouses were the cleanest, brightest of any campground I've been too. The chicken in the camp store is horrible and upset both of our stomachs! Some pieces were so hard they could not be eaten.

The bldg with unisex bathrooms had 2 of the 4 rooms closed during our stay ( for cleaning ??). Of the remaining two one bathroom did not lock. You can do better!

Campground was great. Great staff had entertainment on the weekends fairly close to Outer banks. Would not recommend purchasing the weather guarantee by sensible weather. If rained all day Tuesday and All day Wednesday. Called sensible they said it had to rain more than 1.5 inches per day so we didn’t Qualify. SCAM. Probably change the amount every time.

Despite the unpredictable weather and mosquito and gnats problem the Staff does an exceptional job trying to make the stay comfortable by swapping sites which helped for a couple days, Wife and I Love this Campground and will revisit after checking the weather. and maybe coming earlier in the season

We had a great stay. If you like to go fishing this is the place. The pool was not open (being built). All sites are gravel. The staff were very pleased and kind. Could use some more maintenance to the non-water front campsites.

Always a great place to stay - Only a few comments to make this a better place. First the escort to our site, usually validate any issues. We had a minor issue connecting the electrical and I would have figured it out faster if the host was on site to ask questions. Also we paid extra for the table / chairs, etc. These should have been wiped down by an employee, instead of the camper. thank

Grounds were very clean. Camp store was well stocked. Ice cream selections were great. The dumpster area was maintained well. Walking trail and inlets to waters were trimmed well.

This park is large, visually clean, and well-maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and they do their best to assist guests. The park is almost there, but there is only one dumpster location, so you'll likely want to rent a golf cart if you're staying farther away. The biggest reason we're taking stars off is the overwhelming fly problem. There were thousands—possibly tens of thousands—of house flies during our stay, and they affected every part of our family's experience. Simply opening my truck windows while connecting our truck and trailer resulted in hundreds of flies getting inside. There is nothing dead or rotting in my vehicle; the flies are coming from the surrounding area. The flies constantly bother people and pets and make it difficult to enjoy being outdoors or do so much as leave your car window open for more than a minute. There is no leaving your camper door open either, even with a screen. Even after leaving the park, I still have hundreds of flies in my truck. Unfortunately, this issue significantly impacted an otherwise pleasant stay.

Just finished up a weekend with my 5yr grandson. We brought him here last year also. This is his special trip of the year. Never disappointed. I cannot say enough about the staff and quality of entertainment. Dinosaur weekend was amazing. From Jurassic Park trilogy movies playing in the garage, to Lizard King bringing his reptiles, then to making amazing KOA Tye Dye shirts that we were able to decorate and bring home. Craft tables, games.... Mary is one of the staff members here that stood out to us. She has been the face of entertainment and crafts for us for our past few visits. So sweet and nice and definitely helpful in the arts & crafts, and always available to help out. I wish I knew everyone's names here bc each of them played such a huge part in us having so much fun this weekend. From the store front, pool, garage, sites,grounds, activities. Everyone in the staff was just amazing. The facilities were impeccable. We really love coming here. Campsites level,clean. Views are amazing. This year they had the water taxi and kayaks available. We didnt use them, however we did see them being used. So much for a lil'one to do here. To also make it more special, due to the wind we couldnt use our fire pit due to us being waterside, however the play area has them (less windy inland) and of course this wonderful place had their firepits roaring and provided amazing music by Heather, and smores by the main firepits that was provided for everyone. Just can not say enough how much this place makes each trip so special. Thank you so much and see you again next visit.

Great place, super friendly staff, nice amenities, fun activities. It is a little pricey but expected of a place with such beautiful views. Our only complaint is the pool hours. It is open from 10am until 6pm, the earliest of any campground we have stayed at. Hopefully, the will extend the hours until 8 or 9pm in the future. Other than the pool hours, our stay was great and relaxing.
