People were great. Place was very clean and organized. Price was reasonable. Quiet & serene with a wonderful view!

Some minor issues with the cabin. Light under microwave that illuminates the stove wasn’t working. The TV in the bedroom was all snow - not sure about a setting on the remote. I think more info about the swarms of flies (midges) would have been good to know. We were unable to enjoy anything immediately outside our cabin - the porch, patio, or the grill/fire ring.

We increased our stay from three days to eight days. Our site was supposed to be water view, and it was until someone moved in beside us. We could not see the water due to the grown-up trees. The sites were extremely small for our large camper. I think as a suggestion and not a complaint, there should be a beware of snakes signat the kayak area by the rocks. There were numerous snake sightings.

Very quiet and relaxed location. We stayed in a cabin and they are exactly as pictured. They are very clean and spacious. Everything is close together for convenience and the staff is wonderful. They went above and beyond when they didn’t have too. I will definitely stay there again.

Everyone we encountered (staff) was very friendly and helpful. When we had a minor issue with our power pole someone was there in less than 10 minutes! The boat shuttle is very nice. The sites are clean and maintained. Once the pool is built our rating will be "5".

It was our first time at a KOA, the staff was friendly and helpful. Escorted us to our site and stayed until we were set in our space. Enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

We had an overwhelming infestation of gnats that covered the RV and everyone who came outside. When you open the R.V. door, they would fly inside and make my stay a nuisance. This was my second stay at this site, but this time I had a guest who was visiting for the first time, and this is our experience.

Yes, the bugs can be a nuisance. We suggest a citronella candle or a fan.

Had a great time as always! Just wish the pool was open. Lot of fire ants this year and I got a bad case of chiggers. I didn’t go anywhere but on our lot and didn’t sit in the grass.

Everything was great. The cabin was extremely clean and well stocked with items we would need. Front desk staff was friendly and check in was a breeze.

The rates seem to be higher than other places. The showers and restrooms were filled with bugs and were nasty. All the hookups worked great. We enjoyed our stay.

We love this place. The general manager is just down to earth and awesome. All the staff is so friendly. The campground is clean. Can’t wait for the pool area to be finished. I highly recommend Currituck KOA

The site unseen at booking had a blocked few with a large electrical panel wall, bathrooms were filthy and loaded with hundreds of dead bugs. The staff were super nice and the store was very decent with little bit of everything for someone. It would have been nice to have a bathroom or two up by the entrance.

We are working on a 3rd bathhouse which will be installed with the pool. The welcome center has a restroom as well.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The campground was peaceful and inviting. We chose to utilize the free kayaks and fishing opportunities that were offered and enjoyed both activities very much. The view from our cabin was lovely and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect during our stay.

We had a power issue in our rv. David came and tested the site, my cord and my connection on the rv. After hours of troubleshooting, David went to get a battery charger to get us through until we were able to get one. They went above and beyond to help us. We’ll definitely be back soon! First class experience! Thank you David for your positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond!

This KOA is on a quiet piece of property with beautiful views. The staff is friendly and the cabin that we stayed in was clean and well equipped.

Great stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. The shuttles were awesome. Let us visit local shopping and restaurants we would not have done otherwise. Very clean and well laid out campground.

Broken cable TV connector, the spaces are super close together. What would normally be pull-thru spaces were set up for back to back units. Not much to do other than walking but no trails nearby. Recommend you go off-season or mid-week when not so busy. Staff was friendly and campground was clean and maintained.

Love this place, hopefully next year I will give it a 10 when the pool is completed. They have a water taxi taking you to Corolla as well as a bus shuttle. Located in the sound side you can swim, fish or launch a boat. Road coming in is a very narrow road, bigger rigs take your time and go slow, it’s worth the stay if you like off the beaten path. We do!!!!

Our stay at the Outer Banks West KOA was wonderful! This campground was so relaxing. Being in the sound provided beautiful water sunsets without the tourist beach craze. The staff at this KOA are friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and we will definitely come back.

We completely enjoyed our stay. Every staff member we met was kind and accommodating, bath house was spotless, neighbors friendly and quiet. We camped in a tent and used the fishing pier. There were lots more activities that we will try to take in next time!

I was charged 10 dollars a day for the amenities. Still trying to figure out what they were no pool, no water taxi running, no putt putt and no hot tub.

The amenity fee covers free water sports rentals, fishing pole rentals, onsite cafe, live entertainment, activities Thurs-Sunday, and the water taxi. This is already calculated in your total when booking a stay.

Great cabin and location May flies were not pleasant! Staff was very personable…would recommend this KOA…close enough to Outer Banks must see sights…Wright Brother’s …Morris Farm…and others.

This campground is clean, well organized, and provides absolutely breathtaking views. Our kids aged 10, 8, and 3 loved the programmed events. We will be back.

This was our first stay at Outer Banks West and we really enjoyed our stay! There were lots of activities to keep the whole family entertained, the staff were very friendly, and the bathhouses were clean and spacious. I am disappointed that the shuttle/ferry from the KOA was not operating during our stay which was a big reason we booked this location. I wish we were told ahead of time.

This park is large, visually clean, and well-maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and they do their best to assist guests. The park is almost there, but there is only one dumpster location, so you'll likely want to rent a golf cart if you're staying farther away. The biggest reason we're taking stars off is the overwhelming fly problem. There were thousands—possibly tens of thousands—of house flies during our stay, and they affected every part of our family's experience. Simply opening my truck windows while connecting our truck and trailer resulted in hundreds of flies getting inside. There is nothing dead or rotting in my vehicle; the flies are coming from the surrounding area. The flies constantly bother people and pets and make it difficult to enjoy being outdoors or do so much as leave your car window open for more than a minute. There is no leaving your camper door open either, even with a screen. Even after leaving the park, I still have hundreds of flies in my truck. Unfortunately, this issue significantly impacted an otherwise pleasant stay.

Just finished up a weekend with my 5yr grandson. We brought him here last year also. This is his special trip of the year. Never disappointed. I cannot say enough about the staff and quality of entertainment. Dinosaur weekend was amazing. From Jurassic Park trilogy movies playing in the garage, to Lizard King bringing his reptiles, then to making amazing KOA Tye Dye shirts that we were able to decorate and bring home. Craft tables, games.... Mary is one of the staff members here that stood out to us. She has been the face of entertainment and crafts for us for our past few visits. So sweet and nice and definitely helpful in the arts & crafts, and always available to help out. I wish I knew everyone's names here bc each of them played such a huge part in us having so much fun this weekend. From the store front, pool, garage, sites,grounds, activities. Everyone in the staff was just amazing. The facilities were impeccable. We really love coming here. Campsites level,clean. Views are amazing. This year they had the water taxi and kayaks available. We didnt use them, however we did see them being used. So much for a lil'one to do here. To also make it more special, due to the wind we couldnt use our fire pit due to us being waterside, however the play area has them (less windy inland) and of course this wonderful place had their firepits roaring and provided amazing music by Heather, and smores by the main firepits that was provided for everyone. Just can not say enough how much this place makes each trip so special. Thank you so much and see you again next visit.

Great place, super friendly staff, nice amenities, fun activities. It is a little pricey but expected of a place with such beautiful views. Our only complaint is the pool hours. It is open from 10am until 6pm, the earliest of any campground we have stayed at. Hopefully, the will extend the hours until 8 or 9pm in the future. Other than the pool hours, our stay was great and relaxing.
