10 stars! Best KOA (or RV campground) we have stayed at all year. The owners put effort into every aspect to make your stay amazing. From clean, spacious, level sites to well done amenities from dog parks to a pool to games and activities. The wooded area with volleyball, basketball, an RC car track, bike track, giant swing, horseshoes. It was amazing. The water was also some of the best.

We were part of a group camping which included one tent site, one rv site, and one cabin. Everyone had a great time. The only negative for us was the smell of gas by our cabin. We didn’t use the picnic table or sit on the porch because of the smell. We just gathered at the other two sites instead of the cabin.

I can’t say enough about how well maintained the property is. The staff are top notch. Lots of fun activities throughout the grounds. Kids can never say they are bored here.

It was very good once I actually located the campground. I checked in after hours follow the very detailed steps to check in after hours. The only2 issues were there were a few dogs barking all night. I also felt it odd that they were only open from 9 to 5. Tl

Shingletown KOA is absolutely one of THE BEST KOAs we’ve stayed in! And we’ve been in a LOT of them! Super clean, everywhere; a great play/activity area in the shaded forest; fun family events; friendly and helpful staff! Excellent KOA!!!

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this campground. The staff is friendly. The campground is clean. We stayed in a cabin this trip (prior 2 trips were with our RV) and the cabin was clean. The restrooms were clean. The Saturday morning pancake breakfast was very good.

Excellent until the last freezing cold night The heater didn’t work right until about 4:30am and it finally kicked on correctly — I was not able to operate the TV (100% my fault - I am a dummy on technology) THE PHONE SERVICE WAS EXTREMELY EXCELLENT I APPRECIATE THE WI-FI Service I advance booked for next Year

Enjoyed our stay, this is our 6th year in a row however feel like the bathrooms could use better cleaning and upgrade on shower heads that do not stay in the right position

Everyone was super friendly and very helpful. The park was beautiful, no trash laying around and the garbage cans were constantly emptied. There were a lot of fun activities for all. Thank you!

8th year in the books, we’ve already booked next year as a family. 3 Cabins and 2 RV sites. Lassen/Shingletown is the best KOA any members of our family has stayed at, through out the 5 western states. Thank you guys, see you next year

This KOA may be small, but it’s full of charm and super well-equipped. You can see the owner’s care in every detail — animal-shaped fences, a bird water feeder, and magical firefly-like lights at night. We enjoyed the free Saturday pancake breakfast too! Great location near Burney Falls, Lassen Volcanic NP, and Redding. Highly recommended!

The place was very cleaned and organized. The ladies in the registration office were friendly and very helpful with all my questions and needs. I wish I could remember their names to give them personal praise and because of them I hope to visit again.

Always love the KOA at Shingletown. good family atmosphere in our favorite spot #25. advice: those frisbee golf baskets at the park, i hardly see anyone use. but, the park is often used for pickup wiffle ball games and soccer games. i suggest dumping the disc golf and maybe getting some rubber bases for wiffle ball and bats and balls and a couple of soccer goal nets. more weekend activites please

Thank you for a fantastic two-night stay. Patty at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the complimentary breakfast on Saturday morning. The campground’s amenities and recreation facilities were a hit with our kids and their friends. They had a blast at the playground, pool, and other activities. We’ll recommend this KOA Mt Lassen/Shingletown to my friends and fa

Wonderful. Staff is so helpful and friendly and it's a great space for families.

The positives: Pancake breakfast was amazing Super friendly staff The negatives: Way. Too. Loud! Unsupervised kids No enforcement of quiet hours Each morning we were woken up before 7 by barking dogs Our last night we were kept up till one in the morning by an over crowded site that was drunk by their camp fire It’s very crowded Pool was closed one day

Really nice park. Loved the wooded location, and there are some large sites to choose from. My only complaint is the dog area has no grass. Maybe they should allow dogs on a small section of the lawn.
Jun 14, 2025
The price is high for some, especially families. The price for cabins can prevent people from staying.

We stayed in a tent in T10. It was great to have the "back 40" for the 5 kids to run and ride their bikes. A lot of things for the kids to do, pool, playground, basketball, volleyball court, and swings. Would diffently stat again. Oh, the staff were awesome!
Jun 13, 2025
Very well kept park! I love the path through the woods and horseshoe pit. Friendly staff.
Jun 12, 2025
This was the best KOA we have ever stayed in. Every detail was thoughtfully considered down to shade placement at the pool and the KOA stamped into the cigarette ashtray by the bathroom. If there was an award that I could nominate them for I would. The staff was fantastic, there was a lot to do for kids and the bathrooms were meticulously kept through

Shingletown KOA Check-in/office and grounds staff are very Welcoming and Helpful, especially Patti whom qe had spoken to over the phone prior to arrival. Shingletown is a beautiful area and the KOA is no different. Our only 2 issues were the overwhelming ants/bugs and the roaming dogs that belong to KOA neighbors: Our tent site showed evidence of numerous ant hills and the dogs got to our

It’s a great place but one day an awful smell came in the cabin like a dead animal and maintenance didn’t come when requested. Was told they would but we waited all night.. it ruined our stay

Stayed here in a motorhome. Park was well maintained and quiet. Office staff was very helpful and pleasant. Would stay here again if in area.

Clean, but a bit pricey for a tent.

We had a pleasant stay at this well-appointed, well-maintained campground.

One of the nicest KOA campgrounds I have stayed at. Very well kept up with a myriad of activities geared towards families and large groups. It is situated in a beautiful forest of conifers. The parking spots are gravel and mine was level. The hookup worked fine. I used the bath, laundry facilities, and pool - all very nice. It's a short drive to the Lassen Volcanic National Park entrance. Highly recommended for a visit to this beautiful park.

This is one of the nicest KOA's that I have been to. A group of 13 of us were spread across three campsites and a cabin. It worked out wonderfully for all of our needs. We had mainly teens with us and the campground kept them busy when we weren't exploring Lassen National Park. They swam in the heated pool, played basketball and tetherball, and ventured around the back area behind our tents to play on the swings. At night, we went on the flashlight walk looking for the glow in the dark eyes in the trees. If you are tent camping with a group, I highly recommend booking Tent Site 9 and 10 because they are huge and allow room to roam. This KOA is also a few miles from Lassen National Park and also a short drive to Shingletown if you need something. This was a very convenient location for us! There is a wonderful man who was very helpful to all of us during our time there. I wish I caught his name but he even brought us some Sis-Q-Logs so we can have a campfire. The cons are small - the bathrooms and showers are quite a trek from the tent sites. I got lost at night and ended up in someone else's camping spot and had to walk around to find it. There is one dishwashing station but this is also at the front of the KOA so it's a trek. We cooked every meal for 13 people for four days and nights so we all had to walk our dishes up front to wash. Not a big deal but we wish we would have brought our own dishwashing station. Heads up, there is no real wood allowed to be burned here. You must purchase Sis-Q-Logs from their KOA store. It was fine with us, it smells and looks like real campfire and we think it even burned longer so that was a plus. Also, there is no ban on electric bikes or dirt bikes here so there were a few kids in the campground zipping around and kicking up dirt everywhere. Not terrible but kind of annoying when we were cooking. Outside of these small things, this is one of the best KOA's I've been to and stayed at. We loved it!
