We chose this campground as it is the furthest from the highway and railroad tracks and close to downtown. It was quiet, clean, and well maintained, with nice mature trees providing shade. We loved the K9 Camp for our beagles. Our only complaint was that our site along the river was very muddy after the rain as much of the grassy area was worn down to dirt. We would definitely stay here again.

It’s close to stores, hot springs, and food. Nice camp sites and clean bathrooms. Right in the middle of the city so it doesn’t feel completely secluded if you like that.

As usual we had an outstanding stay at Lava Hot Springs KOA. Jim was a great host. Clean-up crew did an outstanding job. Top rated! Scotty

The KOA is very lovely. The town is very lovely. HOWEVER the trains every two to three hours ALL day and ALL night made the stay extremely terrible.

It's a bummer that we cannot control the railroad. The train route does go through Lava Hot Springs. We have earplugs at the store.

very nice setting. Peaceful sound of a clean flowing small river next to the camp site. Very clean bathrooms. What more could you ask for. Nice surrounding area to shop, eat, hot springs. Very nice A plus

We have stayed at this KOA location many times and always enjoy our stay. It’s also nice to see improvements from year to year. We stayed along the river in a great site. My only concern is the sewer line connection sticks up too high and at an awkward angle. So I was worried that it could possibly disconnect during our stay.

Other than no “entrance” signs just the big “KOA” sign, nothing bad about this place. Would be extremely helpful to have “entrance” sign coming of bridge into a tight 90° turn. Clean, lovely sites, hookups all in good order.

Always have a great time in Lava Hot Springs and we've been coming for years and staying with Lava Hot Springs West KOA for the past few years and the new people we dealt with this trip were awesome!! Very kind & friendly!! Looking forward to future trips we have planned! Thank you!

We were so lucky to have Space 37 in the park! We loved it! The park is clean and beautiful, and downright amazing. The only thing we wished is that Kamp K9 had more seating and maybe a pup playground. Our dogs still loved having a place to run, though. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been traveling/camping for just under 4 months. This was the sweetest campsite I had that entire time. Being next to the river was the best ever.

Front desk very helpful at checkin, campsites very nice with grassy area. Bathrooms and showers very clean. Always a nice stay!

It was very nice staying with you! There was a little issue upon my departure with manager about me not paying! I was a little offended by this. He needs to talk to the gal that checked me in.

While the front desk staff was helpful and friendly at check in, and the location is nice, we were disappointed to have a Class A bus next to us which had a TV running with sound on outside well past quiet hours. We called the front desk to avoid direct confrontation. Security was sent but was timid in enforcing quiet hours. My kids finally got to sleep early that next morning.

Site 48 was epic for our van and small tents. Loved our stay right next to the river!

We enjoyed our stay at this facility, they were very accommodating with our request to have a space where we would not be close to other dogs as we had two heelers that are just learning to socialize. They understood and changed our space as we requested. We loved the location right on the river, it was so peaceful and we enjoyed every moment. A lot to do in this small town if you enjoy the water

It was a perfect weekend! the river outside our door, plenty of shade and so close to all the fun in Lava! Swimming, hot pools and the cute little town! Thanks for making our stay great! friendly staff and great service!

Hard to switch campsites and almost lost a site because of it . Left message but didn't call back till next day after I was already there camping . Lots of water leaks in park which is bad with water shortage everywhere

We love the campground overall, but the location next to the dog park was overrun with flies and hornets because the lid on the waste can (in the dog park,) didn't shut because it was totally full. After swatting pests all afternoon we finally bought some bug spray which helped, but feel it is the responsibility of KOA to maintain.

Some of the spots are very tight, but the setting is beautiful and location is great. Nice to be able to walk our kids over to the waterslides. The hosts take excellent care of the sites.

Great grounds and facilities. Large group was camping next to us and was very loud and vulgar late into the night. Would have been nice to have been informed of that party ahead of time

While the camp ground was in great condition, the 5-6 trains per night made getting a good nights sleep impossible. And unfortunately nothing the camp ground can do about it.

We would have given a 10 and a five except for the fact that there was a group of about seven trailers that were there to party, therefore it was very loud and really quite unpleasant. The campground itself was a very nice!

What a nice campground! We didn’t expect the park to be in the middle of town, and it was great. The park is close to restaurants and activities. Very nice.

Site 30 for tenting was absolutely perfect & super clean showers. Bonus its walking distance to town & the hot springs. I will be back here for sure.

Great place to stay if you are visiting the hot springs. Pools and Waterpark just across the street. Easy walking to any of the great shops in town. Back-in sites along the river are great. Owners take pride in the campsites and property. Clean showers and laundry. Beautiful cabins!

What a great spot for an RV! Right at the end of Main St, there's walking access to dining, shopping and hot springs pools. The park is clean, quiet and right next to the Portneuf River.

They have new RV pads just off the river, clean bathrooms and sits in the middle of town.
