One night, then back on the road. Rustic roads, but nice campground.

I will try to never stay at a KOA again ever. If I paid 69 bucks to stay at a campground again I would not want to have to level my camper and count cars going by at night like counting sheep to try and sleep. I rather get a few hours of sleep at a truck stop. The folks that worked there were great. Also why do you have to get out of car to open the gate ?

The campground was very well kept and cared for. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Got a cabin to join my daughter & family as they have camper. Worked out very well.

The camping cabins are VERY rustic. Our bed broke in the middle of the night but was fixed the next morning. They do not enforce quiet hours as a campsite behind us was blaring music well past quiet hours for two nights in a row making it difficult with small children to camp.

I absolutely love this campground! Staff is awesome and grounds are beautiful! I’ve been a camper there for many years and hope to continue for many more. Thank you Bomoseen Campground for a wonderful experience!

Very nice, spacious site.Campground was very clean and tidy.Staff was friendly and helpful.Would have rated at 5 stars, but the cards that are required to open the gate are difficult to get close to the sensor if your vehicle is large such as a pickup truck. You have to open the door and step out to work the gate.

Wonderful staff. Low tent rates. Flush toilets. Free showers. What more is there?

Nasty place, roads bad and tight turns, dump station at an incline, imposable to empty tanks completely, wi-fi is terrible, nothing positive to say except location is nice

This was an older KOA..arcade and out buildings were run down. The Lake was pretty swampy. There are nice sites. The pool was maintained well. The people working there are friendly. Just needs some maintenance.

Kayak and row boat rentals were pricey. Sites were clean but on the smaller side. Wasn’t much room for my family of 5 to even spread out our camp chairs. Bath houses were dirty and had a horrible smell. WiFi was weak and barely worked if at all. Cable hook up did not work, and there was an orange cable on the side of our site unburied. The lake access was covered in weeds, muck and lily pads.

The place falls short of KOA standards. Sites aren't level, area is swampy, facilities aren't as advertised (tiny pool, unusable basketball, mini golf?), poor maintenance, some disengaged staff, lakefront overgrown, traffic noise. Only a fair stay.

31 ft motorhome w tow. 1 night stay. Put us in a site (113) that was too tight to turn into although assured by desk person site was slanted & it would be fine. Had to unhooking tow to get into it. Level site with easy in/out of campground. Noisy hwy nearby, cell svc, wifi, good. Had to take the scenic route through permanent sites to dump station. Good for one nighters.

Need to update WiFi and cable. The stay was fine.

Friendly. Level sites. Nice bathroom

The staff is very friendly and helpful however, I paid more money for a site with a view to the lake. The trees were so overgrown that I couldn't see lake or enjoy the "view". They advertise Wi-Fi but you have to sign in every 12 hours to be connected. Do not expect watching tv, youtube, or hulu if it's raining unless you have satelite service in your rig.

Had a great time, store was well stocked. Will stay again.

Very nice people at check in. Went above and beyond to help us when we first got there. Campground was nicely kept but a little tight for a big rig.

It's hard to fully rate as it was very early in the season. Staff was great, place was clean with cute decorations everywhere. Pool and some things not open yet. Nice boat launch for kayaking. Sites are a little uneven and we had to put extra time in leveling. Sewer tap was uphill but we figured it all out. Good sized space. Pretty quiet. It was a relaxing weekend.

It was opening weekend very quiet, but the staff was very friendly. The sites were great very clean. Campground would definitely go back.

Lousy dump station access, in need of updates and upgrades. Not up to KOA STANDARDS

People were friendly and helpful if needed

We stayed 3 nights with our daughter and her two small children joining us for nights 2 and 3. The children loved the playground (the pool was not open the first weekend of May) and the waterfront where they "fished" with there little poles with no hooks. We had s'mores at very meal around the campfire in the provided fire ring. The staff were super friendly and helpful and all facilities clean.

I booked the wrong date and was told I would not receive a refund.

The campground itself is great!!!. My problem is the Arcade in which I understand is not operated by the campground. We have stayed there many times and half of the games don't work or are off and the prize dispenser has very little in it. It leaves a bad impression on the campground and should be addressed.

They were very kind to give us a different site because the first one was too tight to get our rig in.

Charming site by the lake. Illumination quite poor, take a torch when leavingnyout site at night. Shop closes at 6pm already. Item selection in the shop was not satisfying, maybe due to the end of the season.

We arrived late and left early. Hard to follow path to our site because it was so dark. Bathrooms used by many so additional Cleaning was needed. Loooove the wooden tent pad!

This was exactly the fall camping we wanted. We never find affordable cabins that allow dogs, so that was awesome. Staff was nice, camp store had the basics and then some. Hiked bomoseen state park and explored rutland, vt.

Lake Bomoseen KOA: What to Expect Before our stay, we came across some negative reviews about Lake Bomoseen KOA, which made us a bit anxious. However, our experience was quite different from what we expected based on those reviews. Here's what you should know: Expect a Typical KOA Experience: Lake Bomoseen is a standard KOA—safe, affordable, and adhering to KOA's corporate standards. It's not luxury camping, but that's not what KOA is about. If you've stayed at other KOAs, you'll find similar setups here. It's a budget-friendly, family-oriented campground that offers a nice getaway in nature. Addressing Common Complaints: Cleanliness: Some reviews mentioned unclean facilities, but we found the bathrooms and showers to be well-maintained. The laundry room was temporarily closed due to a fire, but the staff was upfront about this. Plan ahead and pack extra clothes just in case. The Lake: The lake area is a boat launch, not a swimming or play area. It's functional for boating, but if you're expecting a beach, that's not what this spot is for. Pool and Amenities: The pool is on the smaller side, typical for a KOA, and geared towards families with kids. It's not a large, resort-style pool but offers a nice way to cool off. If you're expecting luxury amenities, this might not meet your expectations. Campsite Spacing: Like most KOAs, the campsites are close together. KOA's business model requires efficient use of space, so don't expect wide-open spaces between sites. However, it's still cozy and functional for RVs, tents, and cabins. No Wifi / Cell Service: There is Wifi, but it's slow and spotty at times. This is pretty standard for KOAs in rural or mountainous areas. If you're dependent on Wifi for work or other needs, plan accordingly. Cell service can also be patchy, but that's part of being in a remote, natural location. Trash and Onsite Security Deposits: Some people were surprised by having to take their own trash to the dumpster or pay a $50 deposit on arrival. These are standard practices for many campgrounds, so it's worth checking the KOA website for these details before your stay. Final Thoughts: If you come to Lake Bomoseen KOA with realistic expectations—a quiet, family-friendly campground with basic amenities—you'll likely have a pleasant stay. It's great for those who enjoy nature and a bit of rustic charm. If you're looking for a more luxurious or high-tech experience, you might want to consider other options. For us, it was a solid KOA experience, in line with what we've seen across the U.S. and Canada.

We were camping so the room 5 stars is for the camp site. It was very clean, level and a good amount of space. The staff was very kind and helpful, you can always locate someone if you need anything. We have enjoyed camping there several times and would recommend it to anyone. Families were enjoying the time as well as singles. As full as the campground was, it was quiet and very enjoyable.
