Campground Reviews

First timers here and loved it! Our cabin was clean upon arrival! Was a little weary about using public bathroom and showers but these bathrooms were very clean at all times of the day. All the staff were personable, friendly and professional, we loved our time camping and looking forward to planning our next trip!!

We enjoyed our stay. Price per night is great and the pool, although small was delightful and nice. However we did find that it does need a facelift. More full hookups, trees and brush pushed back from very narrow roads. The location of the dump station is really not ideal for big rigs and sits on a hill. We would come back but try to utilize a full hookup site. We would recommend it friends.

WiFi non existent. No cell service available at all. No access to swim in lake. One would think a lake campground would allow the ability to actually get in water. Pool is tiny and because of no access to lake, it’s always full of children. I will never return.

For the size of the park there should be at least one more bathroom/ shower facility. We were in site 123 and it was quite a hike to the nearest facility. Aldi not as up to date as I thought it would be. The pool should also be a little bigger due to the fact there is no access to the lake for swimming.

Excellent stay. Awesome camp store. Pool is too small for amount of sites. It would be amazing if there were more full hook ups. We definitely would come back!

the mattress in the deluxe cabin was horrible. like sleeping on cement. The charcoal pit grate was way too high so food didn't cook. However, the staff was wonderful, and the stay was good enough that I booked a luxury cabin for next year before i left.

The wifi is abysmal. Since there is no AT&T cell service I had to use VoIP to make some necessary calls to my medical specialists. Unfortunately they could only hear every other word, and when I resorted to the web portal to communicate with them the wifi kept kicking me off.

Sights were not level. Men’s toilet wasn’t bolted down, woman’s bath had no hand soap all weekend. Pool is to small and over run by seasonal kids who were jumping off the water slide over the smaller kids heads. WiFi is non existent even though it’s advertised. Very rude staff why do not obey the speed limit signs. Dump station is on a hill and narrow roads.

You do a great job on maintaining the campground, my only complaint is that some of the sites are way to small to accommodate giant campers. We were in site #60 which was very nice until we got a neighbor into site #61. We have a small tear drop camper, one night we had a giant camper in #60, one night a van which was fine, then it sat empty for many days which was beautiful!

The Good: The sites were nice, the bathrooms dated but clean. The Bad: Water pressure varied between 40 and 4 psi (yes 4, had to fill holding tank to get decent water and run pump). 3 days out of 6 blew the 30amp breaker at the post at 6.30pm only running ac, fridge, led TV. Could hit router no problem, internet kept dropping. Cable tv was grainy. And pool was way to small never used.

The deluxe cabin was very nice and clean. We did not hear much noise or commotion from other campers and enjoyed launching our kayaks into the lake. The campground could use a little sprucing up.

Our family has been camping here for 10 years and enjoy every year. The staff is great and we will continue for years to come.

Great campground. Bathrooms should be cleaned more often

We loved this KOA! So secluded and peaceful and the staff is very friendly. The lake is beautiful!

Wi-Fi Is very patchy, the cable for the TV. It doesn’t matter if it’s a new cable or a new TV. It is still staticky The pool is pretty small for the amount of people that they have on hot days. Do you have to say though it’s a nice little Campground. It just needs to be updated and so many ways.

the camp itself was quite nice. we've stayed there before. we had a reported water issue...shutting off 3 different times...'working on it'. never was notified there was an issue. The advertised wifi/internet was mostly non existent. 'due to the crowds' I was told. disappointing.

Friendly staff. Nice store, well stocked. Dog park too small. Good location for motorcycle riding. No hiking trails within walking distance.

we loved the campground! it was so clean and everyone is always so kind at KOAs the only downside was our tent site was very tiny and we felt a little crammed and was exposed at all angles to everyone else but we made the most of it and we had a great time!

We stayed in a Deluxe cabin and had a great weekend. The place is peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed the pool, played volleyball and could see the stars, around a fire pit. The cabin is very good, you should just offer better mattress. No signal for AT&T phones and internet doesn’t work even using your wi-fi. But, we were camping, and the phone/internet issue didn’t bother us. Great staff.

Not tent-camping friendly. Our weekend was easily our worst camping experience. Staff was unknowledgeable (couldn't tell us which way to drive for firewood [no cell service]). Campground is dominated by RVs. Less than 100ft from our site we had a large projected movie playing until 11 PM first night; second night we had drunk adults screaming, cursing, and wild peeing until 1 AM.
Jul 29, 2024
Old and smelly bathrooms, no beach access, small pool, and potholes.
Jul 28, 2024
Had deluxe site, not level, 6 ft to next camper, seasonal sites not kept up, cluttered, one way around park and speed limit not followed, unsupervised children at pool, operating golf carts, no supervision. Dogs kept in camper unattended for lengthy periods of time barking, bath houses not to koa standard, overall experience not on par with previous koa’s. The good, the patio on site was nice.

Facilities were very clean, and the staff was super helpful with any questions that I had! We had a great time.
Jul 27, 2024
Arrived to find our site occupied by a manager approved party. Rice cooker plugged in party music blaring, cars & carts parked in our spot. We kicked them out- mgmt said that ‘they would look into it”. Side walk & public area next to #2 should be fenced off! Day two same group - obnoxious. When we booked, site looked more secluded- simply awful 2 night stay. Could not leave fast enough.

Old facility that is well maintained. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful, especially the maintenance folks

2-Nights, Friday & Saturday, Cabin 73. The cabin is showing signs of age, but it's still serviceable. The mattress in the main bedroom should be changed. It is not comfortable. Otherwise the stay was pleasant.

Very nice and quite pictuesque. Wifi not good...ut the rest very nice.

It is a nice campground and the workers are always pleasant. The couch in deluxe cabin #88 needs to be replaced. It is not even comfortable to sit on much less sleep on if needed. I really hope it is replaced by the time we visit again. Overall, our camping experience has been very enjoyable at this campground.

The site we were in was set up oddly. To get more space we would have had to park over the sewer hookup. So it ended up being we barely had room to walk around our picnic table as we had tall reeds on the front side. The wifi was good the first day (Thursday) I used my hotspot so the grandchildren could watch Netflix. Friday when it filled up I have nothing, no phone service no hotspot.

the first night a dog barked until 11PM, That was ROUGH! But other than that the campground was amazing, Clean, Friendly. Our sites were perfect, but I could see some others being very small. My son loved the arcade and the Mining. Thank you for a Great weekend!

Park is great, lots to do. Disappointed that Santa was not there for their Christmas in July weekend. The elves did a great job handing out the gifts

I had a very good stay and the staff was very helpful. The only thing was the laundry room was not open but that wasn't the fault of the KOA.
Jul 23, 2024
Our original site #74 was squeezed behind several other sites so that we were in their backyard. And site 74 is very wet / muddy compared to other sites. The WiFi only works at the store and our cable didn’t work.

We were skeptical due to all of the most recent reviews, but we found the campground very clean, staff was super friendly and we enjoyed our weekend so much we booked again prior to leaving. The only suggestion would be to update the pictures online as we saw a hot tub online in photos but there is only 1 small pool that is mostly for kiddos. Lounge chairs would also be good to sunbathe at the poo

Love Lake Bomoseen. Been camping here for many of years. Very tranquil. Good place to recharge your batteries. Very disappointed in the new pool. Really should have it a lot bigger. Way to small for the campground

This was exactly the fall camping we wanted. We never find affordable cabins that allow dogs, so that was awesome. Staff was nice, camp store had the basics and then some. Hiked bomoseen state park and explored rutland, vt.

Lake Bomoseen KOA: What to Expect Before our stay, we came across some negative reviews about Lake Bomoseen KOA, which made us a bit anxious. However, our experience was quite different from what we expected based on those reviews. Here's what you should know: Expect a Typical KOA Experience: Lake Bomoseen is a standard KOA—safe, affordable, and adhering to KOA's corporate standards. It's not luxury camping, but that's not what KOA is about. If you've stayed at other KOAs, you'll find similar setups here. It's a budget-friendly, family-oriented campground that offers a nice getaway in nature. Addressing Common Complaints: Cleanliness: Some reviews mentioned unclean facilities, but we found the bathrooms and showers to be well-maintained. The laundry room was temporarily closed due to a fire, but the staff was upfront about this. Plan ahead and pack extra clothes just in case. The Lake: The lake area is a boat launch, not a swimming or play area. It's functional for boating, but if you're expecting a beach, that's not what this spot is for. Pool and Amenities: The pool is on the smaller side, typical for a KOA, and geared towards families with kids. It's not a large, resort-style pool but offers a nice way to cool off. If you're expecting luxury amenities, this might not meet your expectations. Campsite Spacing: Like most KOAs, the campsites are close together. KOA's business model requires efficient use of space, so don't expect wide-open spaces between sites. However, it's still cozy and functional for RVs, tents, and cabins. No Wifi / Cell Service: There is Wifi, but it's slow and spotty at times. This is pretty standard for KOAs in rural or mountainous areas. If you're dependent on Wifi for work or other needs, plan accordingly. Cell service can also be patchy, but that's part of being in a remote, natural location. Trash and Onsite Security Deposits: Some people were surprised by having to take their own trash to the dumpster or pay a $50 deposit on arrival. These are standard practices for many campgrounds, so it's worth checking the KOA website for these details before your stay. Final Thoughts: If you come to Lake Bomoseen KOA with realistic expectations—a quiet, family-friendly campground with basic amenities—you'll likely have a pleasant stay. It's great for those who enjoy nature and a bit of rustic charm. If you're looking for a more luxurious or high-tech experience, you might want to consider other options. For us, it was a solid KOA experience, in line with what we've seen across the U.S. and Canada.

We were camping so the room 5 stars is for the camp site. It was very clean, level and a good amount of space. The staff was very kind and helpful, you can always locate someone if you need anything. We have enjoyed camping there several times and would recommend it to anyone. Families were enjoying the time as well as singles. As full as the campground was, it was quiet and very enjoyable.
