Campground Reviews

We have been searching for a dog friendly cabin for a long time, and this was our first time cabin camping with the dogs. Very affordable, nice cool weather for Columbus Day weekend. We will come back after Labor Day when the pool is closed and the campground is less booked / crowded. It was a nice stay.

Enjoyed our stay. Friendly people clean restrooms and showers and the site was very level.

The only thing: the shower was cold

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Camping spots were blacktop and pretty level. Campground just a little crowded and tight. I didn't use the bath house so can't comment on that.

The deluxe cabin we stayed in had a very musty smell to it. Both beds in the cabin needed to replaced. The hot water from the shower smelt like sulfur bad. It smelt up the cabin for the remainder of the night. The campground seemed nice but I will never stay in the cabins again.

Clean friendly staff members and also friendly campers staying at the camp ground will definitely be back in spring and summer of 2025

Sprawling grounds amongst the trees. Site could have used more gravel, a little muddy, but then the end of the season.

I had a cable problem and one of the staff people came by and corrected. It made my weekend fantastic all the staff people were outstanding, extremely friendly just like family had a wonderful time. I will be back again in the warmer weather.

Sites are roomy. Staff members were always friendly and nice. The grounds and facilities are clean. Relaxing atmosphere. The campers next to us were friendly can over to chat which was nice. Coming back next weekend for last time until next spring/summer. Would recommend this Koa.

Friendly staff, campsite nice and wide, washrooms and showers clean and would recommend.

We like this campground, clean, polite people, but they really need to get updated Wi-Fi. Could barley text anyone and couldn’t stream TV, and plugged into their cable and still didn’t get any cable service. But really do love this spot!!!

This park is older with beautiful mature trees. Many sites are nestled in the trees, one area has paved pull-through sites. Larger rugs may have trouble navigating…. Be sure you discuss that before arriving. There is almost no cell service (AT&T) and while there is wifi I found it to be unreliable. Camp store is a convenience store, so very nicely stocked. Restrooms clean, but dated—no handica

We had a beautiful spot with a view of the lake. Being late in the year there weren’t many people around so it was quiet. The staff at the store were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to a friend.

This KOA is not up to the standards I expect at KOA. Buildings are older and need some attention. Laundry had such a strong mold/mildew smell I was unable to do my laundry. Our site (78) was nice however you can NOT get out of it without major maneuvering (we had to go across kitty corner and back up down the road to get out). Lastly not a fan of the dog fee.

Lots of great hiking close by. Ben and Jerry's and the Vermont Country Store as well.

We checked in a few minutes before five, realizing that the office closed at five, The clerk was not friendly at all.

Very friendly staff. Nicely maintained, classic older campground. Spaces a bit close together with narrow parking pads but adequate. Pleasant experience.

When making reservations I always enter size of RV and that we have slides. Also request a satellite friendly site. The site we were placed on was long enough however we could not extend all slides and no satellite. I feel that if satellite is not available when reservations are made the campground should let you know. These issues did not seem to be important to staff. Not big rig friendly.

Great location and view is beautiful. Staff were super nice as well. The campsite is overused and could use some new gravel as its all dirt and it gets into the cabin. Luckily we had great weather but if it rained the whole area would be a mud pit. The camp fire pit was extremely close to the other cabin and should be moved. Bathrooms were clean but the shower temp and pressure were not the best.

If your staying for just 1 night and less than 30ft long motorhome you don't get a choice, they put you in a less desirable not very level back in site. The electrical hook up wa low voltage, only had 117v to start, running the air conditioner dropped it to 113/114v. The only amenity we wanted to use was the laundry room and that was filthy. The campground is run down, it's more a Journey status.

Campground is great. Workers are awesome. Sites are very large. WiFi and phone and cable slightly off but it’s the area not the campground. Would return again

Your map shows straight roads and there isn’t any. The sites are small with trees in the way at every turn. We had to back out of our pull through to avoid trees. There should be warnings about these things when you book a site for a 45’ motorhome. The 50 amp plug in our pedestal was broken. There is NO Verizon phone service and your WiFi is lacking.

Not impressed

The staff that we spoke to on the phone to check in, make payment and check out were friendly and efficient. The cabin we rented was horrible. It had a broken Kirig, extremely filthy floors, rodents, food on the dishes in the cabinets, broken & useless window coverings. This KOA billed this as a deluxe cabin. It was NOT. It was trailer with child-sized doors and spaces. We were very disappointed.

All was good except no ESPN TV channel available in Cabins yet it's given to unit sites. It listed on brochure you gave me.

There was almost nothing to do. There were no group activities at all planned for the entire weekend, the pool was closed, there was no beach (just a boat dock), and the ticket machine in the arcade was broken. The store was open, but that's pretty much it.

What a wonderful place to stay at. Staff is terrific, grounds are clean, rest room facilities are kept clean and security is excellent. I highly recommend this campground! I love it!

Small but clean. A little tight maneuvering for big rigs. Very nice staff at the store and the park.

This was exactly the fall camping we wanted. We never find affordable cabins that allow dogs, so that was awesome. Staff was nice, camp store had the basics and then some. Hiked bomoseen state park and explored rutland, vt.

Lake Bomoseen KOA: What to Expect Before our stay, we came across some negative reviews about Lake Bomoseen KOA, which made us a bit anxious. However, our experience was quite different from what we expected based on those reviews. Here's what you should know: Expect a Typical KOA Experience: Lake Bomoseen is a standard KOA—safe, affordable, and adhering to KOA's corporate standards. It's not luxury camping, but that's not what KOA is about. If you've stayed at other KOAs, you'll find similar setups here. It's a budget-friendly, family-oriented campground that offers a nice getaway in nature. Addressing Common Complaints: Cleanliness: Some reviews mentioned unclean facilities, but we found the bathrooms and showers to be well-maintained. The laundry room was temporarily closed due to a fire, but the staff was upfront about this. Plan ahead and pack extra clothes just in case. The Lake: The lake area is a boat launch, not a swimming or play area. It's functional for boating, but if you're expecting a beach, that's not what this spot is for. Pool and Amenities: The pool is on the smaller side, typical for a KOA, and geared towards families with kids. It's not a large, resort-style pool but offers a nice way to cool off. If you're expecting luxury amenities, this might not meet your expectations. Campsite Spacing: Like most KOAs, the campsites are close together. KOA's business model requires efficient use of space, so don't expect wide-open spaces between sites. However, it's still cozy and functional for RVs, tents, and cabins. No Wifi / Cell Service: There is Wifi, but it's slow and spotty at times. This is pretty standard for KOAs in rural or mountainous areas. If you're dependent on Wifi for work or other needs, plan accordingly. Cell service can also be patchy, but that's part of being in a remote, natural location. Trash and Onsite Security Deposits: Some people were surprised by having to take their own trash to the dumpster or pay a $50 deposit on arrival. These are standard practices for many campgrounds, so it's worth checking the KOA website for these details before your stay. Final Thoughts: If you come to Lake Bomoseen KOA with realistic expectations—a quiet, family-friendly campground with basic amenities—you'll likely have a pleasant stay. It's great for those who enjoy nature and a bit of rustic charm. If you're looking for a more luxurious or high-tech experience, you might want to consider other options. For us, it was a solid KOA experience, in line with what we've seen across the U.S. and Canada.

We were camping so the room 5 stars is for the camp site. It was very clean, level and a good amount of space. The staff was very kind and helpful, you can always locate someone if you need anything. We have enjoyed camping there several times and would recommend it to anyone. Families were enjoying the time as well as singles. As full as the campground was, it was quiet and very enjoyable.
