OMGosh! The on-site managers are wonderful, the park is clean and inviting, the dog park was perfect! I would definitely stay here again and absolutely recommend this KOA to anyone and everyone. 100%

The hosts were great!! They even brought me my credit card that I had left in the office! My only concern was that there is no code lock on the bathroom door. All was well, but that would give me more of a sense of safety. Beautiful stars at night and I was delighted to hear an owl as well as coyotes in the night.

It was a nice tent spot. We were by the creek. You could hear the creek when it got quiet. The manager was nice to let us switch camping spot so that our bigger size tent would fit on the sand pad.

Very friendly, helpful, informative staff. Park was clean and well kept. I needed to spend a night in South Dakota for establishing my domicile there and this spot was great!

The place is nice and clean. Bathroom is clean and plenty of hot shower. My tent is so close too highway and become very noisy at time.

The shop hours are very minimal, 8-10am and 4-8pm, so we never spoke to a host or site staff. Our spot was decent, but very buggy. The bathrooms were outdated, but clean. There was no family or handicap accessible bathroom, which made it challenging for our family with young kids.

The couple working in the office are sweet as can be, and very kind. The bathrooms/showers are extremely clean. The pool could use some cleaning and chairs around it but it’s definitely useable. The campground itself is more “parking lot” camping area. The grills provided are pretty much unusable and more just in the way. That being said, it’s a good stopping point to get out west.

It was great. Love the late check in possibility, bathroom was very nice. However, the water taps were not turned on at our campsite which was unfortunate.

Too noisy. Trains, semis downshifting, and highway noise.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry you found the area too loud. Early October is the peak of harvesting season. As a result there is a larger than normal amount of truck traffic on the highway. Unfortunately, we have little control over that issue.

We were only here long enough to get tons of mosquito bites. It was a quick overnight where we were car-camping. The KOA was well-laid out & sites looked fairly level. Main restrooms were fine. Bring bug spray!!

Quiet and spacious site, clean bathrooms and super friendly and accommodating staff! The biggest issue was that there was no hot water for the women's showers in the morning (myself and another camper ran water for over five minutes and it never got even lukewarm). Otherwise, definitely a place I'd stay again.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We apologize for the lack of hot water. Windy conditions put out the pilot light on the water heater and we were not made aware of the problem until many hours later. Once we knew, we took action and resolved the problem.

Weird placements of fire pits. Too close to each other. Having sites facing each other was different. The spotlights at the end of the roads made it feel like we were sleeping in broad daylight. Grounds were quiet; couldn’t really hear the traffic. Bathrooms were clean.

Beautiful pool and campground! Didn't get much time to visit since we were just passing through but the campground was clean and the facilities well maintained. All of the staff were very kind and polite!

Quick overnight stay. The office was super friendly and the facilities were very clean! Extra bonus was the fenced dog park area and grassy dog walk area. I would definitely recommend.

The hosts were very friendly. We arrived on our motorcycles. We stayed for two days. The second day some severe weather came rolling through. The pavilion was not being used, we asked if we could put our motorcycles in there for protection, they said we could without any hesitation. This is wonderful customer service!!

Under new ownership. We were only passing through and stayed one night. The lots were all very level, the location was quiet and the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest I've ever seen with HOT water. Some stuff was being upgraded but it didn't affect our stay. Front desk people were very kind.

We are on our way from Petoskey, MI to Mt Rushmore et al. Looking for a place to land before shooting into Hill City in the morning. What a great surprise! They are under new ownership and these guys have really cleaned the place up. They are investing in the place. Sites that are actually big rig friendly and the place is clean. Pool under construction. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We have more trip planned for the West. Kennebec KOA is part of all future itineraries.
