The new owners of the Kennebec KOA are welcoming and friendly. The grounds are lovely. We look forward to staying there in the future and seeing all the wonderful improvements in progress. Our stay was early in the season. The grocery store in town was well stocked and good prices. We plan to return.

Nice overnight stay area for adults traveling. Easy on and off I-90. Nothing to do for kids, but new owners are making changes to get the pool up and running and other changes. Very nice owners who accommodated our needs.

The new management does a great job! We needed a spot at the last minute and they were very helpful and accommodating. Also great camp and facilities!

This location is half way between Sioux Falls and Rapid City. The campground is in very poor condition. Lots of mud. No pool. No laundry. Picnic table not clean. Bathrooms were renovated to 90%. The campground is under renovation and is not ready to be open. Expensive for the experience at sixty-five per night. Stayed one night.

We stayed for two days in June 2026. The owners are new and have really started to make changes. New gravel everywhere. And 40 truck loads more to arrive the day we left, completely renovating the pool which will take some more time so wasn’t yet reopened, plans for the tent area that have not started yet, bathrooms so clean I thought I should take my shoes off.

OMGosh! The on-site managers are wonderful, the park is clean and inviting, the dog park was perfect! I would definitely stay here again and absolutely recommend this KOA to anyone and everyone. 100%

Great Place! Delightful new owners making tremendous improvements. Spotless bathrooms with showers w/ handheld shower head. Great WiFi. Most spots are nicely shaded with a constant chorus of songbirds in the morning. I look forward to stopping again to see how things develop. Especially the little cafe they are adding.

We did not have a reservation- called while traveling. Chris was so pleasant on the phone and welcoming. We were simply passing through and found the accommodations to be reasonably priced and perfect for us. Close to I90 but a quiet stay. Can highly recommend this KOA.

We spent a night on our way to the Badlands and Black Hills. The new owners are making a lot of improvements to the campground. The bathrooms were very clean and the owner was very helpful in making sure our accommodations were a good fit for our teardrop camper. Have stayed here in the past and definitely will stay here again.

Nice and quiet, under new ownership. Filled in low spots and holes in roads. Great place to stay while hitting up prairie dog towns in the area. Wi-Fi a little weak but does let you grab emails. Easy in and out with pull through spots and quiet at night.

Super nice campground hosts that are fixing the place up and are doing their best to run a great park. Very clean restrooms, which are always a plus.

Due to road construction delays, I didn’t arrive until after office hours. The owners were extremely welcoming, waited for me, answered questions & helped me set up. The campground is in a pretty setting & I could hear wild turkeys in the area. I would stay there again.

Good one night stay. Great price. Washrooms were very clean and well stocked. The park is in transition under new management and it looks promising. New owners obviously showing pride in their acquisition. I look forward to returning in the future and seeing the results and maybe even giving 5 stars.

Under new ownership. We were only passing through and stayed one night. The lots were all very level, the location was quiet and the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest I've ever seen with HOT water. Some stuff was being upgraded but it didn't affect our stay. Front desk people were very kind.

We are on our way from Petoskey, MI to Mt Rushmore et al. Looking for a place to land before shooting into Hill City in the morning. What a great surprise! They are under new ownership and these guys have really cleaned the place up. They are investing in the place. Sites that are actually big rig friendly and the place is clean. Pool under construction. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We have more trip planned for the West. Kennebec KOA is part of all future itineraries.
