Great stop

We only stayed one night while passing through. Directions to site could have been clearer. Were told to turn at site 210, but the numbers were on the back of the electric box. I had to get out & physically check. Campground very clean Office staff very nice

Requested extra time for check out, Sunday morning at 10:30 seems excessive. Asked for additional.time and was told each 1/2 hour would cost me $5. I am rewards member with Choice Hotels for 20 years and have NEVER be denied my request to extend checkout time passed the posted 11AM. I would think as KOA member, would be given some latitude. Did not appreciate staff attitude.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Just to set the record straight, we have never denied anyone the ability to stay later than our posted check out time. They are simply informed that there would be additional charges, $5 per hour, not per half hour, for every hour stayed after check out.

The person working the desk was very friendly and it was an easy stop heading toward the Black Hills. That said, it doesn't offer any more. This is the 4th KOA I've stayed at and it doesn't compare to the others, which were high-end campgrounds. This one hasn't been updated or maintained – kids' pool was drained, gate on dog area didn't latch. $80 was very high; I'm sure because of convenience.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Yes, the kiddie pool was drained. An electrical storm took out the filtration pump. An new pump is on back order, but it will be fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime the main pool is fully functional.

We stayed overnight. Full hook-up spot. Everything was neat and clean. Facilities are in good shape. Fenced in dog area. Quiet and peaceful. Gas station is close by.

Nothing fancy. Just fundamental camping with easy access off I99 westbound to th Badlands.

Great place, pool was great and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Small but clean. Easy access as it’s right off the highway. Good overnight place to stay Very small town so nothing to do.

Nice enough park. Employees were very nice. Pool seemed pretty old but was very refreshing as it was a hot day. Never walked into bathrooms or showers or laundry

You typical KOA. Bathrooms clean and sites level. A small town.

A very nice out-of-the-way campground. Nice sites and great staff. The only negative about this area is the lack of cafes, restaurants, food markets. I know that is not the campground's fault (heavy duty farming area), but even the one food place listed 9 miles away was shut down. Would I stay there again? Most certainly!

Ok for only a one night stay. Very rustic. Really any no restaurants or stores close.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

There is one restaurant in town. Kennebec is a town of two hundred people, so not a lot of demand for eating out.

Nice campground but no hot water in the restroom for showering

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We apologize for the lack of hot water. Windy conditions put out the pilot light on the water heater and we were not made aware of the problem until many hours later. Once we knew, we took action and resolved the problem.

Ok campground for a quick overnight stay. Grass was overgrown causing it to be very buggy. Pool needed to be cleaned, dead bugs in it. Nice staff.
Jul 28, 2024
You could have some supplies in the office. Most campgrounds have gifts and SOME supplies.

Very nice hosts

No issues, everything went smooth! Nice campground!

Park was a bit outdated, needs a facelift
Jul 25, 2024
Nice park, efficient staff. Unfortunately the road noise is a deterrent. Site 131 should be leveled a bit, dips in front making it difficult to level.

While not advertised as a luxury rv resort, the ease of access to long flat sites, great water pressure and taste, and the ability to have full hookup are appreciated. Convenient to I-90, friendly staff, and roomy sites all made liking this campground easy. Wi-Fi was weak but cellular signal was okay to make a hotspot, and over-the-air tv channels were abundant. I would stay here again.

Under new ownership. We were only passing through and stayed one night. The lots were all very level, the location was quiet and the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest I've ever seen with HOT water. Some stuff was being upgraded but it didn't affect our stay. Front desk people were very kind.

We are on our way from Petoskey, MI to Mt Rushmore et al. Looking for a place to land before shooting into Hill City in the morning. What a great surprise! They are under new ownership and these guys have really cleaned the place up. They are investing in the place. Sites that are actually big rig friendly and the place is clean. Pool under construction. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We have more trip planned for the West. Kennebec KOA is part of all future itineraries.
