Too noisy. Trains, semis downshifting, and highway noise.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry you found the area too loud. Early October is the peak of harvesting season. As a result there is a larger than normal amount of truck traffic on the highway. Unfortunately, we have little control over that issue.

Friendly staff and welll-maintained campground. Bathrooms are clean and loved the hot shower. Level site which is always a plus!

Due to a breakdown earlier in our trip, we could not make it to Kennebec KOA as scheduled. Our stop was another night, for which they courteously applied the payment. Tony and Teri were both very nice to meet and speak with. Remembering being told that wild turkeys could visit, I was so glad to see the flock early the next morning. The grounds were maintained well.

This was a nice KOA for a place to rest after a day at Badlands National Park and other hiking. It has more shade trees than most of the campgrounds we'd been in recently, good-sized sites, and the facilities are nice and clean. We were really grateful not to have to drive all the way to Sioux Falls.

The camp was neat and clean. The gentleman running it seemed disinterested and didn’t even get up from his chair. We would have been much better off if we drove a few more miles to Mitchell.

I showed up late one night and it was very easy to retrieve my info, locate spot and set up for the night. Facilities were spotless. Bathrooms and showers very nice.

We were only here long enough to get tons of mosquito bites. It was a quick overnight where we were car-camping. The KOA was well-laid out & sites looked fairly level. Main restrooms were fine. Bring bug spray!!

In September this was a nice quiet clean camp. Green spaces well maintained and bathroom/showers were very clean. I would definitely stay again.

Owners were wonderful people and very helpful. We needed a repair shop for a bolt picked up in one of our camper tires and the owners son made sure we knew where to go. Everyone was superb. We would highly recommend this KOA. Very neat and clean campground.

We only stayed one night but found this koa refreshing. Owners were super friendly and helped us jump our toad. Very clean and road noise was not an issue. We would stay there again.

It is a nice place to stay while passing thru SD on Route 90. Very easy in and out. Very level sites and clean shower house/bathrooms.

easy off the highway for a quick night or two stay on your way elsewhere. The person who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Although close to the highway, we didn't have as much highway noise as other parks. Pool was closed. I didn't use the restrooms, but my husband said they were nice and clean

The campground was virtually empty yet we were placed right next to another camper. Our fire pit was 3 feet from both our and their camper and less that 2 feet from the septic. The facility is in desperate need of a facelift. Ok for a place to stop and sleep but that’s about it.

Park was clean and well maintained. However we have a handicap issue and were charged $10 for checking out after 10:30 After calling the following day the manager reversed the charge.

Under new ownership. We were only passing through and stayed one night. The lots were all very level, the location was quiet and the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest I've ever seen with HOT water. Some stuff was being upgraded but it didn't affect our stay. Front desk people were very kind.

We are on our way from Petoskey, MI to Mt Rushmore et al. Looking for a place to land before shooting into Hill City in the morning. What a great surprise! They are under new ownership and these guys have really cleaned the place up. They are investing in the place. Sites that are actually big rig friendly and the place is clean. Pool under construction. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We have more trip planned for the West. Kennebec KOA is part of all future itineraries.
