Ours was an overnight stay with a late afternoon arrival, and early morning departure. My 4 star rating is based on a gravel site rather than a hard surface. It was not a problem for an overnight, but would have been dusty if our stay was more prolonged.

Great little spot in central South Dakota. Nice level sites and easy access to hookups. The bathrooms were immaculate. Definitely a great stop after fighting the winds in Nebraska and South Dakota.

Quiet campground right off I-90; great for overnight stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful with getting us some coolers due to our refrigerator breaking.

New owners are great. Doing lots of upgrades on the property. It is nice and clean. Spaces are a good size. Everything was really nice. Will definitely return.

Doug and Chris are very friendly and we were treated very warmly. The campground has many beautiful mature trees and I sat on the picnic table for a long time just enjoying the moment. They are remodeling and so far it is fantastic. When they are completed it wlll be a place to stay more than one night

The campground hosts were fantastic, and the campground is beautiful. The new management is really making it nice. The sites are huge, level and freshly graveled. The custom KOA fire rings are super cool, and the sky at night is unmatched. This was the perfect place for a stay on our journey east. Heck, they even pick up your garbage right from your site!

The new owners of the Kennebec KOA are welcoming and friendly. The grounds are lovely. We look forward to staying there in the future and seeing all the wonderful improvements in progress. Our stay was early in the season. The grocery store in town was well stocked and good prices. We plan to return.

Nice overnight stay area for adults traveling. Easy on and off I-90. Nothing to do for kids, but new owners are making changes to get the pool up and running and other changes. Very nice owners who accommodated our needs.

The new management does a great job! We needed a spot at the last minute and they were very helpful and accommodating. Also great camp and facilities!

This location is half way between Sioux Falls and Rapid City. The campground is in very poor condition. Lots of mud. No pool. No laundry. Picnic table not clean. Bathrooms were renovated to 90%. The campground is under renovation and is not ready to be open. Expensive for the experience at sixty-five per night. Stayed one night.

We stayed for two days in June 2026. The owners are new and have really started to make changes. New gravel everywhere. And 40 truck loads more to arrive the day we left, completely renovating the pool which will take some more time so wasn’t yet reopened, plans for the tent area that have not started yet, bathrooms so clean I thought I should take my shoes off.

The owners and family of this property are just amazing!! I was on a cross country solo road trip when my car broke town, and they offered me a safe haven at their campground while my car was in the shop. The property and facilities were so clean and they really made me feel at home when I was so far from it. A great, quiet, and clean campground. I really can't thank them enough for the help and solace they provided me during my time there. Highly recommend!!

The new owners are making this a really nice KOA Journey. Campground was close to the interstate but very quiet, super clean and well maintained, not dusty and big rig friendly.

Stayed here for one night! Campground was convenient and super clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were spotless! Will definitely stay again!!
