Nothing here, lady at the front desk was not very nice because we got there at 1, their check-in was 2. wifi was good. Glad we didn't have to stay but 1 night

Staff was friendly and sites were decent. But Mosquitoes were pretty bad, and it was unfortunate the kiddy pool was closed.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The pump on the kiddie pool was taken out by an electrical storm. A new pump has been ordered and the kiddie pool will be restored to operational status as soon as possible. In the meantime, the big pool is in good working order.

Very nice campground. Very friendly service. We encountered a severe storm with 70-80 mph winds at 2 am, and the owner/manager came to each site to warn people to come take cover in the building. They were very caring and accommodating.

There were hurricane force winds of 105 mph while we were staying at the Kennebec KOA. The owner came around to each RV, recommended pulling in bump outs, and seeking immediate shelter in the KOA Office. That is real leadership. It made the fact that we couldn't use the pool the next day seem trivial. There is quite a fly and mosquito problem but this KOA was surrounded by water.

The campground itself is fine; clean, easy to navigate, level spots. The mosquitoes are quite bad. Very early check out at 10:30 am.

First too expensive. The mosquitoes were awful. Needs better lighting around in case of an emergency as there was one when we were there so that you could see where to go.

Wonderful location on your property. Very quiet for being close to the interstate. Lovely pool and wished we had more time to enjoy eastern South Dakota.

Very nice people that own/manage this KOA. We had an escort to our site that is always helpful and appreciated. Grounds were clean but grass needed cutting! Nothing to do in this area so this is definitely a Journey KOA. Easy on/easy off the interstate.

Really nice place to stay…the mosquitos were TERRIBLE! Need to spray to help control. They were so bad, we could not be outside our camper very long! Left with many a bites!

Weird placements of fire pits. Too close to each other. Having sites facing each other was different. The spotlights at the end of the roads made it feel like we were sleeping in broad daylight. Grounds were quiet; couldn’t really hear the traffic. Bathrooms were clean.

We stopped here on our way home from the Black Hills. This is a quiet and clean KOA. Nice laundry room with a big folding table. The staff was very nice too. This was a refreshing stay after the busy, noisy KOA near Mt. Rushmore.

Beautiful pool and campground! Didn't get much time to visit since we were just passing through but the campground was clean and the facilities well maintained. All of the staff were very kind and polite!

Park is quite run down. Sites look like they haven't been touched in a while in regards to filling in holes. The day we were leaving they were supposed to get more rain. I had asked in the office if we could stay until the rain passed and was told we would be charged $5 an hour. Kinda crappy if you ask me and the lady was quite rude about it as well. We will find another place to stay the next tim

Under new ownership. We were only passing through and stayed one night. The lots were all very level, the location was quiet and the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest I've ever seen with HOT water. Some stuff was being upgraded but it didn't affect our stay. Front desk people were very kind.

We are on our way from Petoskey, MI to Mt Rushmore et al. Looking for a place to land before shooting into Hill City in the morning. What a great surprise! They are under new ownership and these guys have really cleaned the place up. They are investing in the place. Sites that are actually big rig friendly and the place is clean. Pool under construction. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We have more trip planned for the West. Kennebec KOA is part of all future itineraries.
