Margie and I have looked at other KOAs. They were not as friendly as this HIAWASSEE KOA. Plus their sites were to close to each other. These sites at the Hiawassee KOA are very spacious and clean. The entire staff were very friendly and accommodating. So friendly we booked another stay before we left for home. Thank you all and may the Good LORD bless all of you!

Enjoyed our stay…sites are welcoming, amenities above standard, and the campground is centrally located for many attractions in the area.

We had a wonderful time at the KOA Hiawassee. So many fun things for the kids (jump pillow, fishing, parks, an open field for kickball/baseball, volleyball courts, mini golf, paddle boating). It was a wonderful start. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and well maintained. We will definitely come back again!

The Hiawassee KOA is one of the best RV parks in North Georgia. What makes it even better is the outstanding staff. From the office staff to those that work out on the grounds, each one is pleasant and eager to help you with whatever you need …. And that’s what separates a good park from a GREAT park. Bruce Wagar

Park and staff were great. WiFi was good, but park needs cable or some way to access tv while staying there.

Kind employees and clean site

My wife and I agree that this KOA is the best one we have ever stayed in out of all KOAs across the country. We camped in an Class C RV. Our site was backed up to a beautiful mountain stream. The campground was quite, clean and since we were there May 11-15, it was not crowded at all. We enjoyed the north Georgia moutains and has a wonderful experience. Brasstown Bald Mountain Tower is a must see

Loved our site, it was during the week and really quite.

We stayed by the beautiful creek. I’d say there’s nothing to complain about and a whole lot of reasons to come back. Bell mountain park is a mountain top you don’t want to miss. The antique stores are plentiful. Highly recommend this area and the koa is one of the best you’ll find. Go visit!

Your map of the camp ground does not match what is really there. It indicates roads looping around - they end and unless you walk thru a camp site you have to either go back or detour off property. The staff were great and always said hi. Campground was clean and pet stations well stocked. Great view of the surrounding forest and mountains.

My husband was beyond impressed with this KOA . We rate each one we go to and this is our second 5*+ review. The amenities, the space, the entertainment room was all amazing. Even playing Put Put. We will be returning for sure. We’re even considering retiring there once I do retire. The staff were always around for any reason and the store was a big hit. Than you to the entire staff.

Nearly perfect stay with Winnebago Georgia group. Toilet and shower areas very clean with one exception. Wall on stall in womens restroom has a brown stain on the wall near tp dispenser. Good hot water, spotty water pressure. The office personnel were very helpful and friendly. Mini golf course is a little rough in many places. 4th year with this group.

We wanted a pull thru site and they gave us a nice shady one under a tree. The pull thru sites are close together but fortunately during our stay we had empty sites all around us which gave us privacy. The campground is very nice as well as the staff. Bathrooms and laundry room were very clean. This was our second time staying there. Definitely recommend this KOA.

Hiawassee KOA is clean, bathhouse is great, private shower rooms are greatly appreciated. The staff is very friendly and were accommodating when we had a special request. We love staying here.

We didn’t like sites at all. Gravel stones everywhere sites to site. Despite creek winding through KOA Felt more like being in a big parking lot. Bathroom code in outer location had NO NUMBERS on key pad. Complete guess as to which buttons were 1 and 5!! Main unisex bathrooms very clean but difficult to find after hours on back side of office. Traffic drives through koa to enter residentia

It’s a beautiful campground!

I love the whole place! Especially the flowing creek. When I bring my grandchildren, they stay busy in the creek, on the jump pad, on the playground, riding bikes. My family and all the grands are returning in August - I know we will stay in the pool and creek! Great place for all ages!

This is by far one of the best KOAs that we have visited. The grounds are beautiful. The campground sits down in a lush valley with Mountain View’s all around. The bath house was so clean and spacious. We come here at least once a year!

Great for kids and pets! Cleanest bathrooms and showers ever! Bad luck had us rained out most of the weekend but the clubhouse is a great spot to hang with a pool table, air hockey and plenty of games and books. Very friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and stress free.

My wife and I booked this campground, with the intention of doing activities nearby. The activities turned out to be 35 minutes or longer away each day. We visited Helen twice during our stay, which requires driving each way on a windy mountain highway, which can take between 40 to 50 minutes to navigate from the campground. Be prepared for the hairpin turns, as well as the other turns that are about 90 degrees. This KOA is also not the usual KOA my wife and I are accustomed to, such as Twin Mountain in NH. We didn't realize about half the RV and cabin sites were long term rentals, aka seasonal individuals. Our site was nestled between all of those, though few people were here this week near us. It was also odd to have the KOA store closed on Sunday and Wednesday during our stay. The nearest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. The cabins are nice inside, and provide the necessary amenities, to reduce eating out at restaurants. We encountered some deer everyday we were here. I've attached photos below to show how close they will come.
