Ms. Beth, Ms. Marcia and Mr. Steve are wonderful and super helpful. Maintenance Steve helped with a specific request. He was real quick in resolving this request and friendly.

We love this campground but the nightly rates are continually rising and far above other places we stay. We're not sure if the amenities are worth the raising rates and unfortunately may not be visiting in the future if this doesn't change.

The staff was very helpful. They always were making our stay comfortable. I believe this KOA is on the top of the list for service and keeping the grounds excellent. The bathrooms and pool is outstanding also. I recommend this camping experience to many friends. Now I have 5 campers that stay there when we RV . It's our meeting place during the summer.

Had a great time! Park was clean, lots of fun stuff for the kids. The lady who ran the tie dye tshirts and pool games was so great with the kids...she's the best!

We booked the stay with family. As a result of the cabin being in such poor condition, some of our family had to find accommodations elsewhere. That was an inconvenience for them to have to stay 20mins away. The campground was fine. The website is not user friendly. Should be able to see what you are booking. Ideally, we would have liked to have booked closer to the family we traveled with.

We came on 4th of July and also Labor Day. It would be nice to have different kids events. You had the same tye dye shirt event again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the KOA. The campsites by the creek were very relaxing and shaded. The only thing that was a little aggravating was the locks and different codes for the bathhouses, and laundry room.

One of the nicer—if not nicest—KOAs we’ve stayed at. Clean and well organized. Extremely quiet the entire time, day and night. There were many other campers—in both RVs and in the cabins—but it didn’t seem crowded. We interacted with the workers a bit and everyone seemed nice.

Upon arrival & check in, we were greeted by VERY friendly & helpful staff!!!!! Made us feel welcome & asked to make sure we had everything we needed for a successful check in & stay. Site was very clean, overall the entire grounds were very nice, clean & organized, signage was good! Thank You!!! Fred & Paulette Thomason

We loved our lakeside site and stayed nine days! That is the longest we have ever stayed at a campground and we have been doing this for almost ten years! We also love the Hiawassee/Blairsville area and will definitely be coming back!

You have a whole entire campaign that’s not filled out when you put some right next to the camper that has barking dogs. He put people in his spots you should be asking if they want to be next to somebody or not when you have pretty much a vacant campground and thanks to those noisy dogs. I didn’t have a peaceful sleep. Also, you don’t allow the use of the water areas except when in office.

Bathrooms by the office were nice. The other ones had the same dirt on the floors for at least a week. The person who’s job it is to clean them ever seen dirt behind the doors also.

We had a great time but we felt like our kids were followed around and picked on by one of the campground employees. He seemed to just follow them and look for them to do something wrong, he had very little patience for children.

campground was very 'different' from other KOAs, i.e., it is in a neighborhood, has MANY permanent/long term residents. We paid for a 'patio KOA' spot which was nice but VERY close to our neighbors. The sewer hookup was directly beside their patio area and we had to 'dump' our tank as they were preparing/eating their morning meal.

I was scheduled to stay with them 5 nights. My wife had a bicycle accident the morning we were scheduled to depart requiring hospitalization and surgery. This location was very concerned about our health and did everything we asked and more. Because I had an RV and a vehicle that needed to be driven with only one driver able to drive, they allowed me to take a couple days. This is the best KOA

Super clean location the campsites are very well-maintained. The pond is nice and the paddle boats are fun. People are super friendly and the views of the Smoky Mountains are amazing. Also best bathrooms I have ever seen!

We were very pleased with everything from the staff, to the cleanliness of the bath house, to the over all atmosphere of everything. We had people who had never camped with us, and they were very pleased with their 1st experience.

We love Hiawassee KOA, it's one of our favorites, great staff, clean dog yard, good sites with plenty of room between campers, many hiking trails and good restaurants.

Me and my family LOVE the Hiawassee KOA. We look forward to any time that we can spend together here. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Everything is clean and organized. And the grounds are amazing; they are beautiful and relaxing. We look forward to our next trip and making more lasting memories.

We stay at the Hiawassee KOA 1-2 times per year. Office staff is courteous and helpful. However, the Hiawassee KOA is a former campground and the KOA company made few, if any, improvements when they acquired it. The KOA company needs to invest significant money into this KOA; pave roads and sites, level sites, trim trees, and have GA DNR relocate problem bears, which are a threat to campers.

Great for kids and pets! Cleanest bathrooms and showers ever! Bad luck had us rained out most of the weekend but the clubhouse is a great spot to hang with a pool table, air hockey and plenty of games and books. Very friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and stress free.

My wife and I booked this campground, with the intention of doing activities nearby. The activities turned out to be 35 minutes or longer away each day. We visited Helen twice during our stay, which requires driving each way on a windy mountain highway, which can take between 40 to 50 minutes to navigate from the campground. Be prepared for the hairpin turns, as well as the other turns that are about 90 degrees. This KOA is also not the usual KOA my wife and I are accustomed to, such as Twin Mountain in NH. We didn't realize about half the RV and cabin sites were long term rentals, aka seasonal individuals. Our site was nestled between all of those, though few people were here this week near us. It was also odd to have the KOA store closed on Sunday and Wednesday during our stay. The nearest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. The cabins are nice inside, and provide the necessary amenities, to reduce eating out at restaurants. We encountered some deer everyday we were here. I've attached photos below to show how close they will come.
