We camped on sites 50 and 51, right on the creek! The sounds of the water running down the rocks was so relaxing. The campground was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely return!

Just good all around. RV sites have space, plenty to do for the kiddos, store was nice, shower houses very clean, Wifi was good. Will be back!

We had an awesome time. We absolutely loved staying on the creek. We were in 47B .. the best!! Thank you for the courteous office staff. The grounds and facilities were very nice and well kept! We will certainly be back!!!

I just spent one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations I have ever had at the Hiawassee KOA. The people who work there are extremely helpful and exceeded my expectations. One of the employees named Steve even helped me with a problem I was having hooking my trailer up to my truck Within minutes. He had the problem solved. You don’t get that type of service at a Hampton Inn! Bruce Wagar

Honestly, we thought we were staying at a different campground!!! When we pulled into this KOA, we thought we were in paradise!!! Such a beautiful and relaxing place - we ended up staying on site 45 which was right on the creek and it was beautiful! So serene, clean and the view of the mountains and Brasstown Bald was amazing!!! So many things to do there also!! We will definitely be back!!!

Great place to stay however the geese leave their droppings everywhere. The sites away from the lake are much cleaner more desirable especially if you have dogs and kids and care about what you step in. but still a great KOA destination.

Gave it 3 stars only because of the road that goes right through the place cutting the KOA in 2. We have a 45ft in site 8 luckily when we left no one was behind so I could back out. If I had pulled out the patio or my motorcoach would have been damaged. KOA people very nice and friendly, clean campground.

On the plus side: Site was level, great WIFI, quite great amenities. On the negative side: we made our reservations in January for our 2 week stay in May.We expected a decent site for our 34 ft motorhome with 2 slides. The site we received was so narrow it did not have a picnic table or fire ring. Too narrow for awning.Empty sites all around for most of our stay. Weekend campers got the good sites

Always so accommodating! The staff are friendly and recognize you after you stay multiple times! A lot to do for the kids as well as a great place to walk/push a stroller for littles and ride bikes for older kids!

We had a wonderful time with our Winnebago club. We stayed for a week, and the campground was beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful, we hope to return again next year for our Winnebago Rally.

We enjoyed our stay but were very concerned with the speeding vehicles. We had a nice site site but it was near the road through the campground so there was a high noise level with thumping music and diesel engines. The road through the campground needs speed bumps. I would not feel comfortable camping with kids until the main road through the campground is updated to reduce the speeding car

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff is great. The campground is in a beautiful setting, with the mountains all around, the creek and the ponds. We had a creek access site. Our granddaughter enjoyed playing the water. The water is cold! Great campground!

This was our first time at the Hiawassee KOA, and it was an excellent campground. The grounds, comfort station and campsites were all verry well maintained and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Each encounter with a staff member was so pleasant. We stayed for 7 days and we honestly did not have one complaint. Weather was perfect and we even caught fish in the pond onsite.

Great for kids and pets! Cleanest bathrooms and showers ever! Bad luck had us rained out most of the weekend but the clubhouse is a great spot to hang with a pool table, air hockey and plenty of games and books. Very friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and stress free.

My wife and I booked this campground, with the intention of doing activities nearby. The activities turned out to be 35 minutes or longer away each day. We visited Helen twice during our stay, which requires driving each way on a windy mountain highway, which can take between 40 to 50 minutes to navigate from the campground. Be prepared for the hairpin turns, as well as the other turns that are about 90 degrees. This KOA is also not the usual KOA my wife and I are accustomed to, such as Twin Mountain in NH. We didn't realize about half the RV and cabin sites were long term rentals, aka seasonal individuals. Our site was nestled between all of those, though few people were here this week near us. It was also odd to have the KOA store closed on Sunday and Wednesday during our stay. The nearest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. The cabins are nice inside, and provide the necessary amenities, to reduce eating out at restaurants. We encountered some deer everyday we were here. I've attached photos below to show how close they will come.
