We have stayed at Hiawassee before it was KOA beautiful clean campground. First time in a camper, this time a cabin. Love the campsites, the cabin with stayed in was beautiful, clean, very comfortable.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin and it was amazing. Very clean cabin and great layout for having two kids. They bathroom was very nice and spacious and the shower had a bench on it, which was very nice due to my wife having an above knee amputation. It was very short we checked in late and left the next morning. The cabin was cute and my husband and I fit perfectly fine in it. We drove around the next morning and saw it had a ton of activities for families and that a lot of people live there year round.

Very nice campground. We stayed in a cabin which was very nice. It had a refrigerator and microwave. It had bunk beds we didn't need. We we're very satisfied with the size cleanliness and price of the cabin. When storm Isiais was heading toward our home in Alabama we had to check out early which they allowed. I was very grateful for that. The office does not answer there phone.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Inside the cabin was very clean and stocked with ample linens. We enjoyed the outside grill and fire pit. We will definitely book another stay.

We checked in on Friday, 10/2/26. 30 minutes later, there was no internet, no access to put a TV on. This continued until Monday morning. We had to head to a coffee shop several times to even get access to phone other than SOS/Satellite. Clearly the goal is to be disconnected, however, we needed to keep checking on a managed restaurant 800 miles away. A discount would be great for this.

Absolute joy, the cabin accommodations were exceptional, clean, well maintained. So cute. Dog friendly, even provided dog bowls. The campground itself was beautiful, well kept, lots of activities available. Scenery was breathtaking. Staff were all professional and positive. Will make this trip again.

We stayed in a cabin and it was amazing. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. I love staying at campgrounds that have a fully stocked camp store. The view was priceless. This is officially my favorite campground we have stayed at. Love the campground, love the views, loved the other campers we met, and especially loved the staff. Thank you for all that.

Clean grounds, with lots of options to stay busy. Cabin was very spacious and clean! Two suggestions: 1) more notice about office/store closure. It was closed on Sunday. 2) blinds in cabin were broken in several places, so people could look in. Look at having those replaced

We really enjoyed staying at KOA Hiwassee. We always loved the KOA's and have stayed at others. We love they were updated, the playground, and the beautiful mountain views!!

We enjoyed the beauty of the campground location. The KOA staff is very friendly and accommodating. The campground surrounding area makes for lots of shopping, eating out, and just enjoying the outdoors. We will plan to return next September.

Ez,clean, and Enjoying! We checked in to catch Beth enjoying lunch. She made the moment a Pleasure �. FYI, l had never had any camping experiences until I met my wife. Then, just a few with our children. She grew up with a camper camping family. Your small cabin was Perfect for My first KOA experience ! We are now retired and will add KOA to our short list of stays.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin we stayed in was perfect and the campground was beautiful. The only thing I’d do differently is to give more details on what’s available in the kitchen- no baking pans, casserole dishes, or oven mitts rendered the oven essentially useless without purchasing those items. Otherwise, the cabin was even better than expected. We’ll be back!

Cabins were absolutely immaculate and very nice. Hot water for showers. Campground itself is clean and well maintained. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The only thing we didn’t love was the pool closing at 7pm. We are used to enjoying the KOA pools well into the evening after a long day of exploring! We went with our two sons (3 and 6), and everyone had a wonderful time. The boys enjoyed the pool, the jumping pillow and the playground and arcade, and we ended the day with a nice campfire, then bunk beds. Everything was incredibly well-cared for - from the grounds to the cabin - and the staff were so kind and helpful. A beautiful and relaxing stay to enjoy nature and family. We will go again.

Great for kids and pets! Cleanest bathrooms and showers ever! Bad luck had us rained out most of the weekend but the clubhouse is a great spot to hang with a pool table, air hockey and plenty of games and books. Very friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and stress free.

My wife and I booked this campground, with the intention of doing activities nearby. The activities turned out to be 35 minutes or longer away each day. We visited Helen twice during our stay, which requires driving each way on a windy mountain highway, which can take between 40 to 50 minutes to navigate from the campground. Be prepared for the hairpin turns, as well as the other turns that are about 90 degrees. This KOA is also not the usual KOA my wife and I are accustomed to, such as Twin Mountain in NH. We didn't realize about half the RV and cabin sites were long term rentals, aka seasonal individuals. Our site was nestled between all of those, though few people were here this week near us. It was also odd to have the KOA store closed on Sunday and Wednesday during our stay. The nearest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. The cabins are nice inside, and provide the necessary amenities, to reduce eating out at restaurants. We encountered some deer everyday we were here. I've attached photos below to show how close they will come.
