One of the best KOA campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Wonderful people, wonderful lots, beautiful streams, lots to see and do at the campground without even going anywhere. Easy to find. Easy to get in and out. Everything was perfect! We will definitely be back. Thank you for welcoming us with open arms.

Nice cabin, easy check-in and check-out, friendly staff. Thank you! Some grass/weeds taking root and growing over into the stoned parking areas, if left unchecked, will make for unsightly look. Otherwise, appealing look.

Great site with paw pen (#249). We love camping at this KOA and have not really had a bad experience. Steve and Beth running the office are always attentive and helpful. One of our favorite campgrounds. We will be back.

Enjoyed the three night stay so much. We were in site were the stream was rolling good. Sound was so delightful all day and night. Weather was perfect!this is the cleanest ground I’ve been to. Staff super nice.

Just stopped for a couple of nights to get my pack in order after a few days on the AT. I didn't get there until well past closing, and I called the after hours number and got a tent site with no problem. Thank you for your hospitality!

Great location! Quiet too. Exactly what we were looking for. Many nearby attractions. Also we are 50ft long and sight 8 was very easy to get in and out of .

We will be back! KOA Hiawassee is our favorite campground ���� I love how tranquil the setting is. My most favorite part is that I can get a spot so close to the playground see the kids from my camper. The office and staff are very attentive and truly care about ensuring all guests have a 5 ���� experience.

The campsite was well maintained as was the bathhouse. Nice quiet and beautiful scenery. Within driving distance of anything needed. The people around me were friendly and maintained their boundaries.

Noisy kids out late making a lot of noise. Dogs barking. Understand the koa was full, but a little respect after 10pm would've been nice.

A great place, with friendly, efficient, knowledgeable staff. The value of what they provide is second to none. Then add on a beautiful, convenient campground that is in the middle of everything you want to see and do, makes it a no brainer.

Only one bathhouse open and it was a 5-10 minute walk just to use it a lot of open spots on our 2 nd day they put a camper from someone checking in right next to us when they had plenty of room to spread out a little bit

We had a lovely site backed up to the creek. Our only complaint is how they put us right next to another camper when there were many sites empty in our row and stayed empty the entire time. They could have at least skipped a site or two... especially since our water and sewage hookup was right next to their picnic table. Staff was friendly and bathroom/showers at office were very nice and clean.

We had a problem our water heater and they gave us a number of someone that came and helped us right on the site. They were amazing. Bathrooms are great and very beautiful place.

Unfortunately, we only got to stay one night at this beautiful campground. The bathrooms were very impressive. I love that that there were several complete bathrooms that were very clean. The lake was very nice with beautiful ducks that live there. We would love to go back one day and stay longer.

Starting with check in. The staff could have been a little more friendly. The campground is in a beautiful location with a creek. It is a little far from the highway, down a narrow curvy road. There are some full time residents that need to clean around their campers.

Overnight, very beautiful campground. The dog park was nice, but could be double, one for small dogs and one for big dogs to decrease unwanted interaction.

We love this campground, there is so much to do on site. We stayed in one of the tiny houses on site. It was cute, clean, and had a beautiful view. The campground is extremely clean and well maintained. The front office staff Beth and Steve are incredible. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable of the area, and just fun to chat with. 10/10 recommend!

We had the site right next to the pond and bridge, with no one on the entry side. Loved the pond views. Some noise from the ducks, but nothing extreme. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

For years Cherokee KOA has been our favorite and I was unwilling to venture out to any other locations but I am so happy that I did!!!! We absolutely loved the staff and our ENTIRE experience. Thank you so much for exceeding our expectations.

This is our favorite camp ground. Been here over 10 times. We have never had any complaints until this trip. There are sticks everywhere, parking lots are a mess, one camper had approx 20 bags of trash on the porch and beer bottles all around. Just generally not keep up. We wonder if it has changed hands? We may look else where to camp.

Great for kids and pets! Cleanest bathrooms and showers ever! Bad luck had us rained out most of the weekend but the clubhouse is a great spot to hang with a pool table, air hockey and plenty of games and books. Very friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and stress free.

My wife and I booked this campground, with the intention of doing activities nearby. The activities turned out to be 35 minutes or longer away each day. We visited Helen twice during our stay, which requires driving each way on a windy mountain highway, which can take between 40 to 50 minutes to navigate from the campground. Be prepared for the hairpin turns, as well as the other turns that are about 90 degrees. This KOA is also not the usual KOA my wife and I are accustomed to, such as Twin Mountain in NH. We didn't realize about half the RV and cabin sites were long term rentals, aka seasonal individuals. Our site was nestled between all of those, though few people were here this week near us. It was also odd to have the KOA store closed on Sunday and Wednesday during our stay. The nearest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. The cabins are nice inside, and provide the necessary amenities, to reduce eating out at restaurants. We encountered some deer everyday we were here. I've attached photos below to show how close they will come.
